GrimBrothers AU

Had an idea for an au where after Hollow Mind Belos makes a new grimwalker, who Hunter ends up kidnapping rescuing and raising. They have a Nani and Lilo type of relationship, more of my thoughts on this au beneath the cut!

**for the purposes of this au we are working under the presumption that grimwalkers start out as infants and age in real time**

Takes place a few weeks/months after Hollow Mind but before the Day of Unity. Hunter has been living at the Owl House since the events of Hollow Mind.

Hunter and Luz go on a mission to infiltrate the castle and retrieve something they need. The two of them have to split up at one point and Hunter ends up in the corridor outside his old bedroom

It makes him feel really nervous to be back here but before he can dwell on it he hears a strange sound coming from behind his old door--it sounds like, crying?

Hunter hesitantly opens the door just a crack to see what's going on and then he sees it. Right in the middle of his room is a crib.

No one else is in the room so Hunter enters and silently closes the door behind him. He approaches the crib slowly, and the baby inside stops crying when he sees him get closer, just looking at Hunter curiously

The face Hunter sees staring back at him is so much like his it's uncanny. They have the same eyes and nose and this baby even has a tiny strand of hair falling over its forehead. And it occurs to Hunter, this isn't just his replacement, this is his brother.

The main difference between them is that this baby's face is a bit rounder and completely un-scarred. Hunter shudders as he wonders how long that will last.

Without thinking, Hunter scoops up the baby and runs. At the last second before reaching the door, he spins around and grabs his old frog plush from under the pillow, because it occurs to him that every baby needs some kind of toy.

He bolts out of the castle and he and Luz finally find each other outside

They're running through the woods and Luz looks over and sees how he's holding this bundle in his arms and is like "Hunter. Is that a baby. Why do you have a baby. Are we kidnaPPING A BABY??"

He stops running for just a moment to peel back the baby's blanket so Luz can see it's face, and she immediately understands.

"I couldn't just leave him behind." is all he says

Flash forward back to the Owl House, Eda is all "YOU BROUGHT HOME AN ENTIRE BABY?" but Hunter and Luz pout and puppy-dog eye her with "pleeeeeeaaaaasssseeee can we keep him?"

Eda agrees of course and though she pretends to complain about it she actually is very happy to have another kid in the house

"So what's his name?" Hunter pauses for just a moment, there's only one name that feels right. "Caleb." (Flapjack approves)

Andiversary Week Day 6: Favorite Parallels

I’ve searched across the universe

Seen many things so wonderful, it’s true

But I’ve never seen nothing like you

It’s pretty rare for the Andi Mack soundtrack to repeat songs, so the fact that they used “Never Seen Nothing Like You” three times over the course of the show feels pretty significant. With Bowie’s love of the universe and his journey to reuniting with Bex and Andi, it’s easy to understand why this song is important to his character arc. The use of this song in each season occurs at a significant moment in Bowie’s developing relationship with Andi and Bex, each one paralleling the last. We go from Bowie’s video where he introduces his daughter whom he has only known for two days but already can’t imagine his life without, to Andi calling him Dad for the first time, and lastly to his first dance with Bex officially as husband and wife.

I was thinking about how Hunter must have made his cardinal socks himself and perhaps meeting Willow would make a bigger impression on him than he initially realized. Can be interpreted as romantic or platonic :)
