No bc one of the worst things ab growing up evangelical is realizing that everyone saw you as nothing but sexual from the age of like 12 onwards. Like my dad wouldn’t let me downstairs w/o a bra *even when he was the only guy in the house*, and I just had to be ok with that??

Like my dad and stepmom offered to put me on birth control when I got a bf in high school and when I said I didn’t want to sleep with my bf my stepmom went “Then why do you hold hands?” Like every person you hold hands with you wanna fuck. (If that’s the case call me a whore-)

And it doesn’t help that I was overdeveloped from a young age (C cups at 12 now a E at 19) and I started binding early on in my teenage years bc of the dysphoria, then KEPT binding bc it stopped my dad’s friends from looking at me and my dad commenting about my chest being “out all the time”

And he thought this way about me since I was a kid. He KEPT thinking about me like that and probably still does today. He never touched me or said anything outright (I mean he did tell my older sister and I that if we weren’t his kids he would date us) but it’s still so unsettling knowing those thoughts were there.

yesterday when working with my case manager, she went through a long checklist of my comprehensive needs to refresh our treatment plan. as a part of the questions she was asking me, she asked for various areas of my financial struggles, including if i was able to afford social activities such as hanging out with friends, going to the movies, etc. as part of my necessary purchases. the question was specifically phrased as "Do you have enough money every month to be able to afford social activities?"

this was not proposed as a "luxury". the question was not phrased as "Do you have enough money every month to afford luxuries/luxury purchases?" this was listed with the necessities like food, housing, medical needs, transportation, bills, and clothing. this made me burst into tears when i realized it was considered a necessary part of everyone's mental and well being. my case manager told me that not a singular person on this planet deserves to have to "earn" the right to socialize, interact with leisure activities, or to do things that bring you personal fulfillment. your money does not, and should not entirely go toward survival and practicality. it will ruin your mental health.

to any poor person who has ever been told that they don't "need" or "deserve" social or leisure activities or that your money "needs" to go 100% toward survival: they are straight up lying to you. it is a fundamental part of your mental health. don't fucking listen to them.

looking at any kind of trans supplies focused online shop is depressing because there will either be a complete absence of anything for transfems or like. a really sad transfem section with 5 items at the end of a list full of binders and packers and harnesses

hello y'all, i know right now in the west where most of the tumblr userbase is it's christmas time: the season of giving, where people acrossthe world are buying many presents for their beloveds and decorations as well like christmas trees and lights in preparation for festivities. yet meanwhile, in the birthplace of christ himself, the man that this holiday celebrates, the palestinian people are suffering calamity and tragedy beyond anything any of us can comprehend. around the day people come to celebrate a mother's birth of a very special child, thousands of actual mothers and their children are experiencing the horrors of war.

one such mother and child is suad ahmed and her child khaled. khaled was born during the midst of this war, and as a result cannot grow in the safety and health a child deserves. he's currently very ill with a respiratory illness and his body, not even fully developed yet, fights so hard to live. i cannot imagine fighting for survival before even being a year old..

the best, most meaningful gift you can give to anyone this christmas, is support for the mother and child under war. this campaign is literally their lifeline, as all proceeds go to necessities like tents, clothing, food and water and baby formula. so please give what you can and share.
