Mesopotamian girl sending clay tablets to her best friend who lives five city states to the west: what if..... Enkidu begot Gilgamesh with child?ðŸ¤
My favorite thing on this earth is how in almost all the music videos for The Monkees Mike is just standing there looking like he is working the longest customer service shift of his life and his boss just told him he has to stay overtime again
the early 70s are just called Brian May because this was HIS era oml
on wikipedia straight up "learning it". and by "learning it" i mean, lets just say.. information
grammy nominations for record of the year 2025
average the monkees episode:
mike: guys we need to save the day from this bad guys!
davy: I've just met a girl and I'm sure she's the love of my life!
micky and peter's subplot:
i think the funniest thing about the Paul Is Dead theory is that Fake Paul still had that homoerotic relationship with John. imagine being John Lennon and your best friend since you were 16 whom you are also in love with dies in a car crash and is replaced with a lookalike and you’re like. whelp. i guess i have to be in love with Fake Paul too. and then you go through one of the messiest divorces in music history.
woah this character is so cool i wish they were covered in blood their whole body trembling with a look of absolute horror on their face as theyre struggling to breathe in panic
I'm writing a sequel to my Torksmith fic and I'm trying to remember something that happened early in the series where I think Peter Tork was in the studio and the producers were not nice to him or said something unkind about his singing ability and Peter immediately ran to Mike about it, who was like, "THEY SAID WHAT" and stood up for him. Did I make that up in my head? Something like that happened, right?
I'm going through my Monkees Day-by-Day book to get more details about stuff that was going on during this period, but I don't know if that will be captured in it or not.
Mike's like, I never liked him, but of course I drove to the airport to pick him up and let him live in my house but I never LIKED him, jeez.
The airport-pickup story (and this was months after Peter had moved in with Mike and Phyllis during the filming of the pilot; after filming, he went back to New York):
