Okay so I have been reminded of something. So, There have been multiple times Kai's been referred to as selfish. While I do not know the context for all of these moments, I know there has not been a single moment in the show outside of the stuff with him wanting to be the green, ninja and S1 along with the stuff that regarding the element staff back in S4.

There have been multiple times to work Kai has died or has made it very clear that he would die to protect another member of the team.

Some examples of these:

Back in S4 literally in the first episode of the season Kai said something that roughly meant "I should have died instead of Zane". Whoever Lloyd cuts him off saying "First it was being the green ninja now this can't you think about someone other than yourself?"

Despite not knowing how to swim towards the end of S5, Kai was the only one out of the ninja that could/ would swim because they wouldn't or would be less likely to die from it who was willing and did jump into the water to save Lloyd from drowning, Cole didn't jump into the water because if he did he would have died so he wouldn't have been much help. Meanwhile, Jay and Zane were fighting Moro leaving the ghost and the guy who can't swim to save Lloyd

KAI PRETTY MUCH RAISED HIS SISTER EVER SINCE THEIR PARENTS WENT MISSING/ GOT KIDNAPPED BY THE TIME TWINS.

KAI HAS SAVED LLOYD'S LIFE LIKE THREE TIMES!

IN DR KAI DIED TO SAVE NYA, WYLDFYRE, AND THE REST OF THE TEAM THAT WERE THERE!

If I didn't know any of this and this would have gotten brought up to me, I would have been annoyed as heck because this is a man who is willing to die for his friends yet they call him and have labeled him selfish when he has directly said that he would have died instead of Zane (causing Nya to lose her brother and only family that she knew was alive), has risked his life like three times to save Lloyd, And pretty much raised his sister yet. He's called selfish. The only one who hasn't done this is Zane and the only other people who haven't are some of the newer characters introduced in Dr. Who don't exactly see him that way. Seriously if I had to say how some of the new characters see Kai, I would say:

Arin: He wouldn't call Kai selfish. If anything, he'd be the kind of person that would glare at the other ninja because of things like risking his life to save Lloyd on multiple occasions saying that he would have been willing to die in Zane's place and even raising his sister even though he was like at the youngest four when his parents went missing. If anything, Arin would look up to this guy because he's gone through hell and back but is still willing to do anything for his team and sister even if they think he's selfish but he's only technically been selfish twice

Sora: very similar thing to Kai, but because she wouldn't have pretty much any of the context of all of the stuff that happened without being told stories of it or directly seeing some of the records from the cloud Kingdom (which I doubt you'd even get access to, unless Euphrasia gave her the access because Euphrasia might but not likely). So pretty much Sora would be the same thing as Arin but because she would be straight with no biases towards him because she isn't even from Ninjago!

Wyldfyre: She would see Kai as well. A father figure. Sure, he may not be the best dad in the world, but hey he's trying and he's not a terrible dad again. He's not the best either but no one's perfect. To be honest, I feel like if she ever learned about pretty much every member of the team calling Kai selfish at least once she would just go ballistic because she doesn't see him as selfish. She sees him as someone who's willing to and has died to save her and other people's lives. Directly saying that he would have died in Zane's place. Sure that would have left Nya without her brother But the world would be safe, He's risked his life on at least three different occasions to save Lloyd, back in the fire temple because it was about to erupt because for some reason it was put in a volcano, And despite not knowing how to swim being the only one out of the two that weren't fighting Morro who could have actually gone into the water to save Lloyd and he did that despite not even knowing how to swim. Then of course there's the time he actually died saving Nya and the rest of the team. And well sure he died at that point. His sister didn't need him and Wyldfyre had heatwave plus the rest of the team to keep her safe. Let me tell you when you know your dad is willing to die for you. You know he's a good dad and you know he's an extremely good dad when he has died for you!

Euphrasia: It's likely she's seen the scroll that Kai's Destiny was written on. She knows he's not selfish and the only times he has been was because of my adulteration because of the staff and when he wanted to be the green ninja. Outside of that, he's wrist his life more times than she's willing to count and has been willing to die for the team pretty much ever since Lloyd became the green ninja. Yet they refer to him as selfish. She doesn't get it.

Seriously I want this to be brought up in the show and for someone to go ballistic on the rest of the team because this mine has been willing to die for them pretty much ever since Lloyd became the green ninja and they took him for granted, not realizing who they had with them. Someone who cared for them a lot and was willing to die for them, even willing to die in the place of another member of the team when he died that one time, And yet every time they've called him selfish, he's seemingly never cared, still caring for them and willing to die for them. You can call him selfish after he's died to save his sister the rest of his team and at that point pretty much adopted daughter. If anything, he was selfless down to his very damn soul. And if anyone tries to tell me anything else I will punch you!

Y'know the episode(s) where Logan was taken by the nightmare king and night hunter this is a what if

Logan sat in the cage staring at the floor of it the others weren't coming to save him they didn't even notice he was gone Zoey took his spot on the team

None even thought of the idea of him being trapped in the nightmare relam or anything of the sorts just thought he dipped was he that unnecessary to them?

Logan picked at his fingers it hurt being abandoned by the others his grown to kinda like them all guess they didn't feel the same way about him

So Logan had two options save himself or join the nightmare king both sounded....unfun and like he'll wake up hating himself sightly

But if the others don't care about him why should he care about them!? Logan sat up straight seeing the night hunter walk into the room? Yeah his calling it a room

"Hello little dreamer" The night hunter walked closer and Logan wanted to hit him just a little "have you made a choice?"

"I have" Logan was so regretting it already but his made his choice and his a stubborn person his got it "I'm joining"

The night hunter looked surprised by this or well Logan thinks he did kinda hard to get a read on this guy but Logan's just gonna say he was

"Are you sure that's a smart move" The night hunter sounded pained? Logan isn't paying that any mind right now his too hurt for that

"I'm sure" Logan probably isn't but he isn't just sitting here for the rest of his life because the others didn't care for him enough to make sure he was okay before jumping to him dipping on them when they needed him

The night hunter sighed unlocking the cage not looking at Logan as he guided him to the nightmare king and again Logan isn't paying that any mind his made his choice

He just hopes his choice was right

I needed Cooper/Logan also non binary Cooper,,,,for my soul! Kai is baba Jay is papa Cole is dad while Zane is father

Logan was nervous today he had a date with Cooper they wanted to go on a date with him which made Logan happy but also panicky

Logan jumped when someone knocked on his door which was opened he looked over seeing his dad and papa Logan smiled at them both

"You okay Lo?" Papa tilted his head while dad looked at the mess of clothes everywhere

"Having trouble with your outfit for the date?" Dad came over ruffling Logan's hair who blushed embarrassed

"I just wanna look nice for Coop" Logan heard papa coo before leaving the room

"How about we help you get ready?" Logan nodded at his dad he'd love for the help from his parents

Papa came back with baba and father both sighed seeing the mess father got to picking up things off the floor while baba collected the mess off the bed

"Lo where are you going?" Baba went to the closet starting to put things up

"Just the arcade" Logan rubbed his arm he still wants to look nice for Cooper they deserved the best and all that

"Well then how about the blue jeans and your green shirt?" Father tilted his head and well that actually wasn't a bad idea

"Oh you can wear your nice jacket!" Papa clapped his hands together beaming Logan nodded in agreement

"Alright let's get you ready bud" Baba smiled and Logan felt less nervous for the date with Cooper suddenly

I think I read the Kai & Nya one! But I'm reading them all thank ya so much for linking them!~ hope anyone else will look at them as well!

Just a little rant here:

I'm really tired of people saying Kai would pick the fangblade over Lloyd even for aus because it just never makes sense ta me like Kai would NEVER have actually picked that blade over a kid who's trapped in lava without help

It doesn't matter if any of the others could have saved Lloyd (and they couldn't) Kai wouldn't have just grabbed the blade and leave Lloyd there in the lava no matter how much he "disliked" the kid

Hell Kai even if he had the time ta get the blade and Lloyd he'd still save Lloyd first and THEN the blade never the other way around because Lloyd is a CHILD

HELLO ANON okay so reactions we'll go from the ones taking it the best ta the worst (Nya)

Wu (bashing):

Wu simply doesn't care his more focused on the team staying together and wondering how Kai was able ta become one with the sea his also the one who gave Nya the okay ta keep Kai in that jar

Afterwards he keeps bugging Kai on how he did it pushing Kai more than the others trying ta figure it out

Pixal:

She does care but she wasn't close with Kai she's focused more on helping Zane through it so Pixal isn't able ta acknowledge her own sadness she almost punched Nya seeing her having Kai in a jar that was her first ever reaction for herself during this time frame

Afterwards when Kai is back she hovers it isn't very noticeable but she is Pixal will always keep tabs on Kai as if waiting for him ta disappear again

Jay:

Like Pixal his foucsed on helping Nya but he can't hide his emotions his hurt by this all he feels horrible that Kai did it and seeing how Nya is handling it makes it worse

Afterwards Jay always keeps jars away from Kai's view he isn't sure if it'll upset Kai seeing any after what Nya did but his scared it will

Cole:

Now Cole was tricky but he definitely isn't handling it well his angry at Benthomaar for telling Nya bout it angry at Kai for doing this but mostly angry at himself for not being there ta stop Kai

Afterwards Cole def hovers over Kai making sure his safe he has a habit of dragging Kai out ta spar just so he knows the other is really here he has a lot of drawings of Kai

Zane:

Zane does shut off his emotions he can't handle Kai being gone it doesn't stop him from being angry the first time Nya shows Kai in that jar he had ta be turned off bc he was actually going ta hurt Nya

Afterwards Zane has a habit of checking on Kai as he sleeps in fact Zane will watch Kai sleep the other doesn't mind as long as his eyes aren't glowing

Ray & Maya:

Oh boy they are so messed up they just barely got back ta their kids and building their relationship up and then bam their son is the sea the two cling ta Nya a little ta much

Afterwards they both dote on Kai a lot who enjoys it having his parents love again makes being "human" again easier ta deal with

Lloyd:

Lloyd is...he ended up sleeping in Kai's bed a lot scared he'll forget what Kai smelt like his scared that Kai won't ever come back he also actually did hurt Nya when he saw what she's done

Afterwards let's just say Lloyd didn't let Nya be alone with Kai for awhile he clings ta Kai afraid ta let go

Nya:

.....she put Kai in a fucking jar so that's her reaction ta it all

Afterwards Nya isn't doing okay still but she's so overjoyed Kai is back though she understands why the others are upset with her back then

Mateo felt like he was going to throw up he had a whole plan to tell Logan how he felt but now that plan felt like it was too much for him to do

Cooper eyed him sighing before shoving him forward giving him a look that had Mateo moving over to where Logan was trying not to throw up or run away

At least Izzie and Zoey aren't around to see how much of a mess he is it'd just make things a lot harder on him if the two saw this

Mateo stopped next to Logan who looked up at him raising an eyebrow at how pale he looked right now

"Dude are you okay?" Logan normally wouldn't care or well before he got to know Mateo that is but he does care now

"Fine!" Mateo rubbed his hands on his jeans okay he can do this he practiced with Cooper who said while a little much it was pretty okay

"Soooo what's wrong with you then" Logan eyed Mateo if he was "okay" why did the other look like he was about to kneel over and die jeez maybe he should stop hanging out with Izzie so much

Her dramatic nature is rubbing off on him and while Logan can be slightly dramatic at times that was a whole new level oh right Mateo back to that

"And well this might be hard for you to get" Mateo rocked on his feet and oh boy Logan missed something important didn't he? That's bad "But I really like you Logan"

"Like friends?" Logan tilted his head why would that be hard for him to get? Mateo made a sound

"No no romantically" Mateo looked away from Logan who made an oh face at that

"Okay great let's go on a date Friday then" Logan got up kissing Mateo on the cheek and walked off leaving a red face Mateo behind

"Wha WAIT WHAT TIME?!" Mateo felt his face burning though he heard Cooper cheering in the background

Mateo and Astrid both hated Royce's idea but also loved it Royce had the bright idea for a dream celebration where everyone dressed in their tradition outfits for their culture

And that was fine until they saw Logan in his and the two were done for neither thought he'd look that pretty the two glared at each other

Izzie sighed shaking her head as she saw Mateo and Astrid fighting again over Logan really this is just super sad now Logan needs to see how they felt

Cooper and Zoey were next to her both looked like they were judging the pair especially when Astrid bit Mateo....who bit her back wow

Logan came over joining the three Cooper smiled at him before dragging Logan off and away from the fighting Astrid and Mateo because he knew Logan didn't know the two liked him

Logan was bad with seeing when others were into him or even liked him as a friend and when Cooper catches Logan's moms his going to start swinging

Zoey and Izzie watched as Mateo went crashing into a table well at least the party won't be boring the two wonder how long it'll take them to notice Cooper took Logan away
