Jegulus is literally what would've happened if they genderbent Lily. It's literally walmart jily with a dash of rascism. Go argue with the wall.
There is something that makes me feel nauseous about the new marauders era fans (but this is just generally a Harry Potter fan problem) is like, fascist apologia.
Because like, fiction is fiction. I'm not going to pretend it is real. I love evil characters. Characters don't have to be morally pure, or even morally good, to be compelling and interesting and worth writing about. Concurrently, the broad trend of babygirlifying men, fascist men in particular, concerns me.
Regulus is not baby girl. Barty Crouch Jr. is ABSOLUTELY not baby girl. You can write interesting and compelling stories about them as characters without making them into soft men who didn't really mean it uwu. They were bigots, canonically. They were fascists! You can talk about their upbringings and what drove them to fascism! You can say they were abused and hurt! That doesn't mean they weren't fascists who wanted to inflict pain on others. And I think it's a weird trend to ignore that or water it down or justify it.
And this is just petty, but I don't understand jegulus or rosekiller. I'll accept rosekiller because it's so meaningless to me that I'm only actually bothered by the babygirlification of the main characters, but I genuinely don't see any appeal to jegulus. Not really hating on it, just confused. Like, the things that I think make James Potter interesting and good are his loyalty to his friends and his anti-bigotry thing. Without those, he's an arrogant, popular prankster who is mean. I think jegulus kind of changes those interesting characteristics unless it's AU or OOC. It kind of seems to me people are looking for James to be gay and trying to find any man, and Snape and Peter are less sexy and liked. Which, I guess is fine. It just doesn't bring anything to me.
But also most of my Harry Potter headcanons would make people side eye me. Regardless, fight me.
Chat I'm confused what does it mean actually if y'all don't mind?
I personally characterize Regulus as a "glass child" due to how problematic Sirius was but that's just me alright
I'LL TAKE BOTHHHHHHHHHHHHH
If I'm being realistic, based on my own characterization of the characters and how they live freely in my head; for prongsfoot to work:
1-Prongsfoot happened before Jily happened at all.
2-It happened during their later 30s-40s and after James had years divorced(also Sirius had 0 things to do with the divorce). (Meaning James and Lily don't die btw lol).
3-Lily is the only one who died.
4-Jilypad happened.
But I also think:
1- I don't personally like this option because this means no Harry.
2- Idk if, in this case, one of them would have caught feelings for the other before jily again (or Sirius during, cheating is a nono for James even emotional) , but I feel like due their age and many circumstances, they wouldnโt explore that, they cared about their friendship too much (like TOO much) I feel like that their bond was enough when they were in their teens and 20s. And I love the idea of jily falling out of love sometimes because it is realistic, and they do fall in love very young, and I love the idea of life crisis, trying to figure out shit, one having many patterns and roads, not meaning that one road is unimportant, but meaning that you go through it, change and flexibility and new emotions etc etc (this is one of my fav)
3-I love the angst of this, I really want to explore the idea myself. Harry being raised by James. Sirius not ending up in prison. Grief. A lot of grief. What would happen to the Marauders and the war, and especially Lily fucking Evans haunting the narrative etc etc.
4-Tops everything else. They're family<3
Even tho I have read cheating prongsfoot works, it's not like I mind them, but for me to read them, I go, "Oh, shit! I love the writing style, the wording, and the tension (if a work is good, I will read it. It doesn't matter if someone made James fucking blonde/now that I think about it blonde James is a nono, but you get me). But I have to disconnect with my Sirius, James, and Lily bcs I see these mfs loyal to a fault."
Literally Lily, Narcissa, Andromeda, Sirius, Ron Weasley and many many characters.
"the over romanticization of death eaters has made the harry potter/marauders universe lose its charm," i say into the mic.
the crowd boos. i begin to walk off in shame, when multiple voices speak and command silence from the room.
"she's right," they say. i look for the owners of the voices. there in the 5th row stands: literally every character who is inherently good but overlooked by the fandom.
sometimes this fandom truly fucks with my head way too much
reminder that James constantly asking Lily out is a headcanon
HELP HAHAHHAHAHHAHHA
Ngl they'll make great enemies with benefits
"No hate; but I wonder why people would ship Snirius. How would that even happen?", I asked my s/o. This is what he answered:
Forget Evan bro, Canon Barty will wipe the floor using Remus, only if Sirius and James doesn't interfere of course.
...Are we absolutely sure that we're talking about Remus Lupin?
Elon Musk and Trump are fucking cancers to this society
what do you mean elon musk did a nazi salute on live tv at the united states presidential inauguration twice and is now erasing the evidence off the internet by replacing the footage with the crowd cheering instead?
would be a shame if people reblogged this, wouldnโt it?
Yeah they are friends who just wanna kiss ๐
6th year & jily are just friends, absolutely nothing between them. james has forced himself to be okay with just being friends. then its valentines day & lily asks if he wants to hang out with her as friends since neither of them have dates (no one asked them out because they've literally been spending every moment with each other so everyone assumes they're dating), & james agrees.
they proceed to spend the entire valentines day together. first waking up early & going on a run together then chatting over heart shaped pancakes (which were normal pancakes but they charmed them to be 'in theme with the holiday'), then they go to the library & lily reads whilst james draws, & she reads out passages to him that she thinks he'd like & he's drawing her. then they go out to the hills & have a picnic together, where james grows her flowers & gifts her chocolates & a necklace and lily then gifts him a homemade card & a watch. then they go to slughorn's classroom & james fulfills his detention cleaning cauldrons whilst lily practices making a potion, but they end up james helping her with the potion & then cleaning together. afterwards they go to the common room & play chess by the fireplace & charades against sirius, remus, and pete. then they sneak to the kitchens & grab a bunch of food which they then take to sneak out to the quidditch pitch & have dinner in the quidditch stands, james lighting candles around so they can see better. they then fly around the pitch for a bit before going back to the stands for dessert & and wine and then laying in each other's arms as they talk and stargaze.
it's totally just a friendly valentines hangout though..
Why is the Marauders fandom allergic to happiness??!!
I was just made aware of the hc that lily was pregnant when she died...
brb I'm going to JUMP OFF A BRIDGE
Tbh ngl Reggie choosing Kreacher over any of them is so funny to me like it's giving John Wick when Iosef killed his fucking dog except Kreacher is Regulus's favorite slave.
