In Leshy's POV it's romantic and a beautiful display of their relationship, the ultimate show of love and acceptance from YC as they readily allow him to feast. From YC's POV, they're terrified and scared, but knows that their fate is inevitable. It's bitter. The trust they shared with Leshy was shattered the moment he succumbed to corruption and his old ways after endless attempts to better himself.
