(Personal take: this is coming from like 2019 to now-)
As a Phil main, yeah the fandom neglecting Phil isn’t that new.
The Dsmp days really showed it. Even mistreating Phil’s character as abusive- and neglectful. I’ve seen Tommy Stan’s who say Phil neglected Tommy. Tommy isn’t Phil’s kid.
Kinda feel bad that the Fanart I’ve seen of this man being shipped with minors- I’m not even exaggerating, it’s disgusting even after his boundaries were addressed-
I’ve seen Techno in the Dsmp days get more Fanart and works than Phil mostly- like, Phil was a good character, I think people struggled with his morals.
Now in QSMP the fandom neglected him again, he has such good lore and people don’t really see that. In my opinion, I think that personally the fans need to chill when it comes to Phil (Tubbo fans I’m looking at you.)
The fact I’ve seen so much Cc!Phil hate as well, even during the Dsmp days- like, let him do his own shit.
Also the stuff Twitter tried digging up from like 8 years ago and get trending, Phil has apologized for that and has improved since then. He improved more than 🟩. So kindly quiet down.
Also don’t harass us crows for liking him.
Thank you all for coming to my tedtalk.
[hands u the mike and presses send]
So with Phil ending stream and that event dying down I wanna talk about him.
And especially with how good of a decision it was from Cellbit to make him a fellow head of ther order.
Let me explain
So I'm gonna try and string this along but the basis I'm building on is that Phil is a center. Not just figuratively but also literally! Remember before the Favela and Spawn become the meeting places? Yeah his home was the point people would meet at, his doors were always open and his waystone was the one ingrained in people's muscle memory when a meeting or communal location was mentioned.
But Phil's also been a communicative center, he's a loner usually, mostly getting dragged along by tubbo or fit for some events.
But he's reliable! And people know this about him. They hear how a single father of 2 has carried the life of these 2 kids in his own, they've heard how Tallulah and Chayanne are the best behaved eggs due to him, they see him casual help people out etc. Phil's known for kindness and help when needed but people who don't know him don't realize there's so much more to him! Fit and Tubbo for example are the first 2 who are aware of this. Fit trusting Phil with literally everything because he knows how capable he is and Tubbo knowing Phil's capabilities in a way where he respects him heavily. And I don't even need to mention how Etoiles is aware of Phil's combat abilities.
Now why did I say that he was the perfect addition as a head of the order? Because he proved today that he is behind everything the order is about. He is a much needed cog in its machine, he's not a head investigator or strategist but he's someone they need to allow this.
Baghera wanted to investigate? Phil stopped trying to look around, focused on helping her clear mobs, gave her all his paper and kept an eye on her while calling to her to make sure she could collect evident when her inventory got filled. He's ready to put his own curiosity and knowledge aside to let others thrive.
Pierre needed a fighter when mobs swarmed him? Phil stood between him and the mobs, being a calm voice amongst panic, standing in Etoiles footsteps as protector and filling them well.
Roier wanted to stay and risk his life because he wanted more information? Phil will stay too, he's not leaving anyone behind even if it could cost his own life and he'd do it again.
Forever is acting weird and trying to brush worries off? Then Phil will worry even more and make sure he knows that Phil's someone who will be there whenever he's needed.
There's so many moments like this, Phil putting himself aside to let others thrive, becoming a support fighter for Etoiles, a teacher for tallulah, an investigator for Cellbit.
He's someone that island needs without them realizing it because he's a quiet constant hum but important! Like a humming of well working machines in a busy factory. Or the humming of bees in a thriving garden full of animals. He's quiet and not always noticeable but he's proof that things are working and okay, the backbone of it.
This is why this trust of Cellbit in him to call him a head of the order is so important for me, and especially Phil promising loyalty and trust to Cellbit cause it may sound basic but those who don't know Phil don't know how much Phil's loyalty truly means. How much his promise of it is an honor to someone because Phil's whole moral compass and trust is based on proof. If you can proof to Phil you're capable and put your money where your mouth is then he'll go through fire for you, and he's promised that to Cellbit, knowing fully well it's a promise he'll keep.
Phil's factual and logical, he's a grounding force when needed and someone who will fit himself into a role that needs to be filled. He's a support, a warrior, a investigator, a distraction etc. He's not focused on his own goals even if it hurts him to put those aside, if he sees potential in supporting or letting someone lead he'll do just that. He's so fucking observant and it's such an important trait not many islanders have to the same level he does. He watches with protective eyes and sees things most people don't. Ironically enough you can see this in his photographs a lot! He's a watcher an observer and acts based on what he sees.
Basically today, that little bit where they went into the new office where forever was taken, was proof of what Phil is needed for. He's not required, he knows that much, but he's important for the community of that island. He's important for letting others thrive. He's what the head of the order is, what they represent. Trust in eachother and letting people thrive in what they're good at while helping them in any way he can.

Something about Chayanne telling q!Philza to protect Tallulah
Not because Chay is self sacrifice
This is him telling Phil directly at him that He is going to be okay and Phil needed to trust him and prioritize Lullah and Chay need Phil to trust him that he will also be alright
Chayanne loves his family his siblings and some may say he is a bit self-sacrifice I don’t think that this is the case
The conflict that Chay always have with Phil Is that Phil is worrisome ( and for good reason ) about his safety
Phil have been more relaxing with him when Tallulah said to him that
‘Phil needed to trusted Chayanne more’
And so he did but in his words that even if he trusted Chay he will always be worried about them
And This is the huge part that will make Philza have to trust his son
Not because that Chayanne need to sacrifice himself
Not because that Chay need to protect his siblings by giving his life
This is Chayanne needed Phil to trust him that they will meet each others again
And Phil will have to trust Chayanne’s word for it and go saved his sister his siblings, to prioritize the other that needed his help first
To place trust in each other
To understanding where each other comes from
And to believe in each other capability
People calling Chayanne a warrior and he is! but the important part about him being warriors
And all I feels like people forget the whole arc of him becoming little chef because Phil refuse to take him near any danger/dungeon for a long time!
qPhil even get called a ‘too strict father’ at that time because he simply doesn’t want his son to die! Because he doesn’t have much resources like other parents did!
And Phil did talk to his kid about this! He opening up to them telling him heart to heart of where he comes from
Why he cares so much about their safety! There a reason why Phil’s kid very well behave and always listen to his words but still being themselves and doesn’t afraid to express for who they are!
Chayanne and Philza is one of the parents and kid that have great relationship with each others
Chayanne is not one with many words and Phil said that he noticed this and he adjusted his parenting style to fit his son more
Giving his attention to how Chay mannerisms is, Knowing that Chay will express himself toward body language and act of service
Take a notes on how Phil never force Chayanne to speak about his feelings and Phil have been with Tallulah who expresses herself a lots by word
Yet Phil still knowing what Chayanne need and what he wanted to do and Phil been nothing but supportive to Chay too
My take is that
Chayanne asked Phil to trusted him and to protect others who needed Phil first.
As Their bound wouldn’t be broken that easily since they had always been there for each other
and now him and Phil needed each other support the most this time
And for why Chayanne doesn’t mentioned himself in the message for Phil because he doesn’t express himself through word! but there are one thing clear and that is him vocaling his want to Phil!
And He needed Phil to trust him and help him during the most crucial time
Casually brainrotting over Phil being temporarily blinded because the Federation is annoyed with him already acting up again, which causes Etoiles to drag him around by twining their tails together and staying close
Trouble causing with extra safety steps, ft. a very dramatic Birdza™️
It's actually pretty perfect, blonde englishman + girlboss
That one line in "specialz"? "Enjoy the moment, let's dance on the frontline of Tokyo." Just. Sukuna and Itadori 'dancing' on the edge of the crater. Sukuna, representing the perpetual cycle of curses who's only job in life is to spread misfortune and misery, and Yuuji who's role is to protect people from that same misfortune and misery for as long as he's alive and able. Dueling ideals stuck in a forever waltz on the thin line between order and destruction. Because they're one another's mirror, their worst enemy as well as their only solace. Bound together by the fact that they alone are unlike anyone else. "You are my special, We are special". I love their revolving dance around one another, their constant challenging of one another's ideals, fighting for their ideals to be the supreme, correct one. When in reality... they're only winding themselves tighter and tighter together, if that's even possible. favorite lines.
Please delete this is if being rude! I’m not sure how to word things properly and don’t want to sound like an ass! And really sorry if I come off as one!
To me personally I’m not really satisfied with phils Ender king arc. Don’t get me wrong! It seems really interesting! But…I’m not sure. My brain can’t latch onto it as easily
From what I’ve heard his acting is amazing! And it’s really interesting! But it doesn’t feel surprising, you know?
It feels like you knew what was going to happen, like oh yeah, Philza Minecraft gets possessed, neat. That it doesn’t have the plot twisting “oh fuck what now??” That most shows or books or other media would have
And it might be a problem server wide, to be honest.. it feels like knowing what’s going to happen takes away a lot of the emotions you feel when it happens. Because you were expecting it.
Fits current deadline arc I think negates this pretty well, you know there’s a deadline, there’s a threat of some kind. But you don’t know /what/ exactly is going to happen. It’s not fully spelled out yet
Or, I think another good way of negating this is tubbos death arc, where it was a spontaneous, spur of the moment type deal. So your like “oohhh holy hell, what??” That kind of shocked silence like end of an episode in the middle of the season with a cliff hanger type thing. (However, creation specifically saying that he was going to come back fucked up did sort of change things instead of letting it be seen subtly, which I would have preferred. But also a lot of people might not get that so it’s a ehh 50/50 kinda thing)
I think someone else who didn’t do this well was BadBoyHalo. I love his lore, I cried over it I will admit. But I knew what was going to happen, he was going to die, he was going to come back wrong, it took the whump out of it. Sort of. (Though he did an amazing job with the egg streams,,,sobs)
On another thing, I think my perception of the lore is different then yours because of what media I regularly enjoy. I usually watch tv shows, movies, or read books. I enjoy lore seeming like a tv show or movie, meaning I enjoy more subtle things that one might pick up from watching a tv show. (Background stuff, character movements and behavior)
And forgive me if I’m wrong, but you play and enjoy ttrpg right? I think those who play them enjoy more obvious roleplay lore, like where you can see everything like a board game, you can see the DM roleplaying character specific lore (unless you seperate..forgive me again I don’t do dnd type stuff lolzz) so stuff that’s more in your face, and sort of expected is your jam. You know?
It’s just an interesting psychology(?) thing I noticed in this fandom. I might be talking out of my ass but. Yeah.
I also think media comprehension might be a big part also. But I’d get into that at a different time. And culture, it’s a whole smodge podge of cool stuff that I fuckin LOVE it’s like. Grr grr grr grr grr and likekdkfkgkrkrkg this is why I’m planning on getting a doctorate in psychology and this stuff BECAUSE ITS SO COOL GRRR
Sorry for turning into a small mammal
(Idk if it’s important but I am a Tubbo main, so that might change things also, I didn’t want to add it because I know you have a. History. With us and I didn’t want to like change how you saw this but yeah. Uhm. Yeah. Anywayyy)
Idk how to end this
Uh
Ball. Singular. One single ball. Yes. That’s it
(about the end anon lmao dont worry about it. i am aware not every tubbling is terrible, there's just a LOUD part that grips onto toxic internet culture way more than others and i cant stand it)
onto the other topic…. eh, let's agree to disagree
see, phil and bad's lores (to me) are entertaining because you see it coming.as a phil viewer i can tell you he's been laying down the road, and leading us to conclusions for about half a year now! if we hadnt taken the hints and gotten to some conclusions, it would have been terrible on us. that is one way of doing narrative: constant foreshadowing of things to come. it reads very much as a greek or classic english tragedy: they tell you from the beginning "this is a sad story, the people you are about to meet will suffer and most of them will die", and you go into the story with the sword of damocles hanging on top of you, never knowing when it's going to drop. and im pretty sure if you ask bbh viewers, the answer would be similar!
both characters have been having their lore that just happened building since before purgatory, and both have been keeping and giving consistent subtle hints at what was going to happen/could happen since then. bad had his breakdown and loss of his purpose when the eggs were gone, the entire loss of his color and brightness and reverting to his more primal demon state, the allowing the vultures to hurt him was the start of this entire plot and that was back in october, if i remember correctly. you can trace a direct line from where his arc is today, passing the radiation damage, the cognitive issues he had, passing to the way he acted in purgatory to his breakdown in the server alone with curucucho hallucinations to his colourless state aaaall the way back to the eggs going missing. he’s been laying down a very clear road, and his watchers (and those of us keeping up with it not as closely as ghosties) were able to see that road, see where it was going and still had the hope “maybe it will end well, maybe it will be different”, but it wasn’t.
basically the same can be said about philza’s lore. as someone who has followed it close, there’s such a consistent character he’s been playing, and a narrative that he’s been building since the eggs were taken… the birdhouse, the hallucinations, the doubting what’s real and what’s not, isolating himself after it in an attempt of hiding, getting help from a protector, having that safety ripped away… hell, these past weeks we didn’t even notice his ramping greediness, because he played his character so well that we were all going “haha, bird man go brr” that it wasn’t until it became obvious and we looked back at the past weeks that we all began panicking at how obvious everything was. it was once again a road that had been laid masterfully, and we could see where it was going and we were being taken there
both phil and bad are those type of story tellers, the ones were you can see where you’re going clearly, and the ride to that conclusion (not even, because there’s more to go!) is what is exhilarating and enjoyable. because there’s a huge satisfaction in seeing the story bit being completed, the satisfaction of a narrative conclusion you knew was coming and wanted to see fulfilled…. along with the inherent tragedy of being a greek chorus trying to warn the protagonist of a tragedy they themselves are writing, but being unable to change the conclusion of i
this tension is also a super intense contrast to phil and bbh's general demeanour as silly guys, both are people who have dealt with horror, loss and tragedy, but manage to live through it by their nature and they both still manage to be sturdy sources of comfort and happiness for those around them. AND at the same time their self-isolating nature, and their tendency to take responsibility for everything around them and to put all the weight on their shoulders and never share their burdens with anyone is their ultimate undoing. and those are some of the best kind of characters, for me at least
on another hand, fit's narrative is very much similar to what both phil and bad have been doing (subtle build up, big lore-focused moments to amp up the narrative, self-isolation and not communicating to the others what's going on, leading to a very clear -to me at least- conclusion that is not on his control), so it's kinda wild to me that you're praising it while you're so critical of both phil's and bad's
while i enjoy the overarching narrative of tubbo's current lore, i am not a fan of a few of the choices he has done narratively…. not in the story perse, but how it bounces off of others (players and npcs alike), but that is just me. and also, it genuinely feels like watching an M. Night Shamalan movie, where he's trying to do as many plot twists as possible to try and keep the audience engaged through shock value and "who knows what might happen next! i dont, and you dont either!!", instead of laying down solid building blocks that keep people coming back for more the next stream because of you knowing something is going to go down, in a specific timeframe and with assumed consequences. tubbo is amazing at character RPing, he's great at emotional story beats and to bouncing dialog back and forth with people, but -TO ME- the way narrative appears out of nowhere, with no narrative build up to it is just not engaging. again, this is just how i see it, and why i personally just dont find myself watching his streams as invested as say, phil's, fit, bad's or bagi's
i will also say, kinda weird that you assumed i dont watch or enjoy other medias that you mentioned, cause like. i was a literature major, i love books, i love movies and shows, i am a gamer and have been consistently playing genshin mainly for the lore and story since 2020, i love anime and longform mangas, and im very much a theorist in an almost manic way when it comes to the media i consume (i am also an autistic with pattern recognition, and tend to predict foreshadowed plot twist/story bits in advance with a 9/10 accuracy)
and also, yeah your understanding of ttrpgs and how they work is kinda wild, because ttrpg narrative is NOT obvious lmao, you dont get how ttrpgs and that much is obvious ebcause literally nothing is on the board (hell, 80% of the time there is No Board To See), and 95% of shit that goes on is improv, with the other 5% being the DM clumsily herding cats (the players) back towards the main narrative. i've seen players walk over rather obvious story bits and miss them entirely, i've seen DMs have to re-write entire campaigns because the actions of the player were so out of what they expected that they shifted the narrative on its head (hell, i have been this dm). i fucking adore improv narrative and improvised storytelling, and, im sorry if this is not how you meant it, the way that you wrote about it feels incredibly condescending :/
i will also say, you said "from what i hear his acting is amazing" so, you havent watched… so how can you say that his lore isnt subtle? that there's no improvisation or off the moment scenes? there's a lot of his lore that after it's done he'll tell us "i had no idea that was coming, the admins threw that shit at me out of nowhere". bad has also talked about improvising parts of his lore in the past even if the big thing on itself is all planned, but i dont know that much about it, maybe ghosties can corroborate?
all in all, i genuinely have no idea what you were trying to get at with this ask. it feels like you're kinda trying to imply that because i enjoy phil's lore and you enjoy tubbo's, you have a better media comprehension than me? which is. kinda wild. like i said earlier, idk if that was your intention or not but your tone ("stuff that’s more in your face, and sort of expected is your jam. You know?") reads as extremely condescending or that you believe im stupid/dont have media comprehension based on the fact that i…. enjoy stories that have build-up that leads to a clear cut payoff?
idk man, this is for sure one hell of an ask to wake up to
Last night was pretty rough for Phil
okay, I'm gonna ramble a bit about the Fred and Guard visit at Tallulah and Chayanne's house because that moment in Philza's livestream kind of broke me. I felt a lot of emotions at that moment.
First of all, I'd like to remind everyone that Phil literally has only shown them the rooms specifically made for Tallulah and Chayanne. He has not shown them the two above-ground houses, only the underground rooms. Which is insane?? In my opinion??? And just shows how much of q!Phil's life revolves around his children?? He doesn't have a fucking room there. He sleeps on a chair in front of his kid's beds, and it's not as if there isn't anywhere else for him to go - he just doesn't want to.
This part just gives me "like father like son" vibes because q!Wilbur would do the exact same thing. Both men created their lives around these children, to the point they would rather sleep on a chair so they could give their kids comfort. They were both too busy giving their entire lives to these kids, that they have no place for themselves and don't WANT a place for themselves. These mfers are fucking insane, Tallulah had to force q!Wilbur to get a bed, and even then we never saw him use it (Meta wise it makes sense, the players never sleep, but lore wise...)
Either way, back to the visit. So these two fed workers enter the room of two missing children. The room is tiny, obviously built for something much smaller than an adult, and is FILLED with signs, pets, plants, and other little things that at the time those kids were there gave it life and now is just... haunted by those objects. When you see eggs walking around you don't mind the amount of signs covering every millimeter of the ground, but now it feels as if it shrinks the place and forces you to look at those conversations that were made by actual lost fucking children.
And even the more comfortably spaced rooms are literally STACKED with that haunted environment. The biggest room in the house? The floor itself was built by the child with a floatie. The entire room was painted and decorated to have that kid's favorite color EVERYWHERE. And the signs are still there, on the walls, on the floors, on a bag, you literally can't escape those. The kitchen? looks normal, until the man taking you on this tour tells you in his dry, quiet voice that this kitchen was actually built for his son. His son liked cooking. That man never used that kitchen. Luckily they didn't ask about the flowers outside which were planted by the other child.
Downstairs? A literal black concrete shrine-like building sticking in the middle, covered with - here they are again - those colorful pink and yellow signs. Behind the black statue? A garden, one of the children's passion projects.
Then they enter the N.I.N.H.O accidentally and are hit by the personification of Tallulah's personality if it was a hotel room. And when they finally leave, they are once more met with PILES of signs, which are all one long painful conversation that happened one day before those same fucking kids disappeared.
And if somehow they would have tried to ignore all of this, Phil was there to just shove this information back on them. He sounded BROKEN. He sounded as if he's lost in his own fucking house. He explained the meaning of anything they stared at for more than a second, and I could just imagine the sore thumb of a man he was, the embodiment of parental grieving, as he had them follow him around. There was something so heartbreaking with the technical need for him to open the doors for them. He was forced to let them in. They were forced to follow him. Both parties were trapped by this empty house.
So, yeah, that part fucking broke me. It wasn't bittersweet, it was just bitter.
This family can't catch a break
