yk how in S1 the front man was like “this is a fair world” and there was this huge emphasis on equality and no competitor having any (overt) advantage

did they just stop caring in S2 or was the thought process (from the game staff) that it would make things more interesting

I’m rly surprised there isn’t more squid game x pokémon AU content out there, like Idk why there would be specifically but I’m still kinda surprised by the absence

thinking about how squid game uses food and characters eating/not eating symbolically. thinking abt how sae byeok barely ate in the feast scene with the final 3 as a way of conveying that she was in pain and dying. how her not eating was a precursor to her death. and following that up by thinking about how gihun hasn't been shown eating at all in season 2 despite the fact that he used to eat a lot in season 1, and has denied any food offered to him in the games...........

Thanks for the ask. I think the most gut-wrenching thing is Sae-byeok’s death. It has me sobbing every time. The way she had so much life ahead of her, and the way she was willing to help gi-hun if she got out without him.. The way gi-hun reacted, so desperate to help before she was killed and then so vengeful after she died. I genuinely think her death broke him into a million pieces.

The fact her brother has no idea or closure on where she went. He has to go the rest of his life without his sister who took care of him the best she could.

All extremely painful to me.

I have a hc that gi-hun lights a candle for each of them every year, since they died on the same day 🕯️🕯️

I’m planning a fic set during a hypothetical future edition of the games, which means I need to come up with a new cast of characters to interact with the existing ones who’ll be involved

can anyone think of any believable reasons why people would be joining the game, which haven’t already been done repeatedly? I’m trying not to inadvertently copy canon characters but there are only so many ways I can think of to get into vast amounts of debt

I’ve got a couple of ideas but if anyone feels creative and has any thoughts please let me know!!
