Listen. Moriarty may be a criminal but he has only the best intentions towards Fran. He wants to do his best for her and what he believes is best for her.

Victor is an abusive, narcissistic asshole. Fran didn't turn out the way he wanted. She was a baby in the body of a young woman. He rejected her because she didn't know how to express herself and didn't know right from wrong. Instead of teaching her these things, LIKE IDK A PARENT SHOULD, he "disassembled" her, abandoned her and ran. Then when she found him, she didn't hate him, she only asked him to make someone for her so she won't be alone.

He refused. Only seeing her as "a hideous monster" and forced her to be the only one of her kind in the world.

Fran called Moriarty "papa" once and he was ready to do anything for her. It's not a selfless intent on his part. I think it filled a hole in his heart he didn't know he had.

Even if Fran is just using him, I don't think it matters because someone finally cares about her enough to grant her desires. Fran has earned that much.

Let Papa Moriarty spoil her I say!! She's worth every cent!!

My response to Anime America's deals with the devil video

So all in all an excellent video as usual. But what I want to talk about is what was number 1: the deal with the Millennium Earl. I agree it is horrific. But it made me realise how sick the Innocence is. The risk the exorcists take in order to fight him and the Clan Of Noah is enormous. If an exocist refuses to fight and their synchronation rate drops they will become a Fallen One and destroy everything around you then will be disintegrated by the Innocence. Even the organisation behind the exorcists are sick. Before Komui became chief the Black Order was allowed to experiment on not just the exorcists and finders but also their families anytime they pleased. And don't forget the second and third exorcist programs. There is no such thing as a good deal in D.Gray-Man

I'm here for the additional family tragedy angle but that's not Liam's birthday. This might be a good time to point out. We don't actually know William's birthday. The birthday listed there is the one he took from William Moriarty. In chapter 1 he says "My birthday falls on the same day as Easter this year" which according to Google was April 1st.

I really hope that in part 2, they reveal William's real name as well as his actual birth date

When I read theories about what happened to Liam and Louis' parents, I always remember that there is not even a 1 year difference between their birthdays (10 months)

And with the state of medicine in their time, the woman most likely died giving birth to Louis. Or right after

Like - if Louis wasn't premature - she got pregnant a MONTH after Liam was born

I have no idea what happened to their dad. But... I think I have a pretty good idea about the mom.
