🌍✨ A Voice from Gaza: Fighting for Hope ❤️🩹
Hi, my name is Mosab , and I’m from Gaza. Life here has been harder than I could ever imagine, but today I’m sharing my story with hope in my heart, because your kindness has already given us so much strength.
This journey hasn’t been easy. The war has taken 25 family members from us—25 beautiful souls we loved deeply. Their laughter, their presence, their love… all of it is gone, leaving behind memories that are both precious and painful. Every day, I carry the weight of their loss, but I also carry their spirit, which gives me the strength to keep going.
Our Journey So Far
When I first reached out, I couldn’t have imagined we’d make it this far. Your support has been a light in these difficult times, and we are so deeply grateful for every single contribution.
But the road ahead is still challenging. Every day, we’re reminded of how much we’ve lost and how much we still need to rebuild.
Here’s what life in Gaza looks like for my family right now:
🏠 Safety: The uncertainty of tomorrow weighs heavily on us.
😢 Loss: The absence of the 25 family members we’ve lost is a pain we carry every moment.
💔 Dreams on Hold: The future feels so far away when survival takes all our strength.
How You Can Help Us Cross the Finish Line Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:
$5 may seem small, but for us, it’s a little relief, a moment of comfort, and a reminder that kindness still exists. ❤️
Can’t donate? Reblog this post to help us reach someone who can. Every share matters more than you know.
Why Your Support Matters Your kindness isn’t just about helping us meet our goal—it’s about reminding us that we’re not alone in this fight. It’s about hope. It’s about survival. And it’s about giving my family a chance to rebuild our lives, even in the face of unimaginable loss.
Thank you for helping us get this far. Your generosity and compassion have already brought us closer to a better tomorrow, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful.
With all my love and gratitude,
Mosab and Family ❤️
Underrated Ancient Greek women
• Aspasia
Aspasia ,born in 470B.C. in Miletus, was known for her beauty and because of the fact that Pericles, the great politician of Athens fell in love with her. But she was one of the most well-educated women at the time and due to her intelligence, notable philosophers like Socrates wanted to be in her company and converse with her. Her house was always open to artists, philosophers and politicians. Despite her free style of life, Athenians often brought their wives along so they could listen to Aspasia’s speeches and advice. When she was 25 years old she met the 50-years old Pericles. He was dazzled by the extremely charming and intelligent young lady and soon after they moved in together. She played an important role beside Pericles and influenced his decisions dramatically. Her fame survived through the centuries as one of the most influential personalities of Ancient history.
•Agnodice of Athens
In the 4th century Bc Agnodice was appalled by the number of maternal and perinatal mortalities in the city.
As females could not practise midwifery or medicine, she disguised herself: she cut off her hair, dressed herself as a man and traveled to Alexandria. She studied medicine under Herophilus, a Greek physician, and later returned to Athens to put in practice what she had learnt.
There she met her first female patient in labour and offered to help with the delivery but the woman declined because Agnodice appeared to her as a man.
Then Agnodice removed her clothes, revealing that she was a woman, and was permitted to treat her.She began attending to women this way. But to the other doctors seemed suspicious for women to seek care during their pregnancy by Agnodice, whom they considered as a man. They believed that she was a seducer and corruptor of women and brought her in front of the jury (Areopagus) to stand trial for her supposed actions. She simply removed her clothes to show the court that she was a woman but the men who brought her to court were outraged because she had broken Athenian law by practicing medicine as a woman. So she was sentenced to death!
In response to this, the women of Athens stormed into the court and defended Agnodice, stating: “You are not husbands, but enemies, because you condemn her who discovered safety for us.”
So the Athenians changed the law. Since then, women were allowed to legally study and practice midwifery in Athens.
• Cynisca
Cynisca was born around 440 BC in the Greek city of Sparta, daughter of King Archidamus II, and sister of the future king Agesilaus II.Sparta’s treatment of women differed from the rest of Greece; rather than excluding them from society entirely, women went through rigorous training since the age of six.Cynisca thrived in this competitive environment. However, the ancient Olympic games fobidden women to even view the running amd combat events of the stadium. Her brother later prompted her to join personally the races and she emerged a popular victor, paving the way for many female athletes.
•Phryne of Thespiae
Phryne of Thespiae was a famous courtesan of Athens, best known for the court case she won by baring her breasts. She was praised for her beauty often being compared to the godess Aphrodite. The court case surrounded the charge of impiety, and it has been suggested that, whatever Phryne did, it had something to do with the Eleusinian Mysteries. Her lover Hypereides, defended her in court. At this point Hypereides disrobed Phryne, and the judges were so struck by her beauty that she was acquitted. Some claim that it was Phryne herself, not Hypereides, who removed her clothes and that she also undid her hair to show herself in the likeness of Aphrodite, or when she showed up on court she shaked her hands with every member of the court and pleaded for her life. it was enough of them to be convinced.
Lilith and Maya from Borderlands
Oh how I hate you, Randy Pitchford.

Instead of jack discourse we should start bandit discourse.
They feel like an Orientalist version of themselves. The story, not just the characters, treats them as subhuman at every turn. Pandora has a bandit population that'd be unsustainable without agriculture yet we never see bandits do any farming or herd any livestock. I can go on

I’m Anas Basil, a recent high school graduate with dreams of a brighter future through studying e-business management and building a career. But the war has shattered everything. After graduating with a 93% average, I enrolled at Khan Younis Training College (UNRWA), only to find that it’s now a shelter for displaced families instead of a place for education.
My younger brother, Ahmad, 14, is known as the "Doctor of the Future" because of his extraordinary talent in mathematics. However, the war has kept him out of school for two consecutive years. Ahmad is also a gifted football player who used to win tournaments, but the war has taken that away from him too.
The war forced our family to flee to Rafah, where we lived in a tent for several months. Every day is a struggle for survival—fetching water, gathering wood, and making a fire.
🎯 We are seeking €29,000 to:
- Secure safe passage out of Gaza and cover education fees to help us pursue our dreams.
- Provide Basic Essentials—food, clean water, and medical supplies—to support our family’s day-to-day survival in Gaza.
Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to our goal.
With gratitude,
Anas & Ahmad

I know of one person in this fandom who gets their panties in a twist every fucking time you headcanon literally anything about Jack because "erm he's a fascist! Is THAT the rep you want!"
Which is such a bullshit thing, I think. I remember an argument had popped up because of the fact that he's tan in canon. This is definitely gonna give away who I am but idrc.
Jack is undeniably TAN in canon, whether you think he's a poc or not falls solely on you, but he definitely has some color to him. He's no Angel. But basically, they drew him super pale and used in-game propaganda art as their backup as to "this is how he canonically looks!" Instead of models.
Then told me that I shouldn't be calling him a person of color because he's a fascist. And it's like. Honestly, I feel like him being a poc is kinda important to his character?
You gotta remember, his prejudice against Pandorans is lived behavior. This was stuff he had experienced whilst living on Pandora that had soured the reputation of the entire population in his mind. This wasn't just fed to him.
But, his hate for them doesn't reach their skin tones. It isn't about race, so him being a poc literally means nothing. And if we're gonna talk about historical stuff, people of color colonized, too! Spain!! Spain!! Pointing aggressively at Spain!
His mask being several shades lighter than his own face is not only something that he uses to set him higher than Pandorans— (look, my face is pure and untouched, yours is scarred. You wear a mask of terror, mine is of freedom.)— but it's also a subtle visual commentary on white saviors.
Race isn't important in the colonization of Pandora. It isn't racism, it's xenophobia— and there is a distinction when it comes to it. But it does come into play when viewing Jack.
Imo, to make him pale is to ignore a large visual clue that pulls him out of the crowd of Hyperion. For his time, if you look at all the people before him in power, no one looked like Jack. His tan is caused by being out in the sun, living on Pandora— something that Hyperion workers don't GET on Helios. He was a part of the working class, he was a part of the people. And that's how he turned out.
(just making it clear here that I don't get a shit what race u hc Jack as, as long as you recognize he's a lil dark is all I really care about tbh. And making it clear here that I am a white person, so if anything I say is offensive just tell me to shut the fuck up 🫡.)
