It's past midnight I need sleep
Ten stared up at his brother who was gliding through the clouds with practised ease, “Get down here, Gwen! Not everyone has wings like you!”
When Gwen’s tinkling laughter rang out from above, Ten felt a stab of jealousy and suddenly his patched shirt was too small for him. He could feel the shrivelled up remains of his own wings brush the coarse fabric of the hand-me-down shirt and wanted to cut the useless limbs off. He was never going to fly, not with his wings dead and never having neared maturity to even support one fraction of his weight.
Gwen slowly returned to the ground, but not before flying through several heavy looking clouds and ending slightly damp. He shook the water droplets out of his sandy hair and grinned at Ten. Ten mirrored the grin, but not feeling any warmth from the gesture.
“Come on, we’d better head back before a storm breaks out.” Gwen picked up his bag from the ground, flexing his back muscles as he did so, and started making his way over to the little cabin they shared together.
Ten followed, eyes going over his twin brother’s good features. Sand coloured hair with eyes as blue as the ocean that slwol chipped away at the cliffs below them. Gwen was tall and well tones, muscles all in the right places and proportions. Gwen would make a right living out in the city, Ten thought.

hey! i know this is weird coming from me because i’ve been MIA for a year and like — who even am i?? but i just want to address what i’m sure we’ve all been noticing on tumblr for a while now
and i’m sure this is happening in other fandoms too but i specifically only write for the harry potter fandom (literally just draco but that’s besides the point) so that’s what i want to talk about
anyways i’m sure by now we’ve all come to realize that hp fics on this app have hit an all time low
unless you’re writing a fic basically just about smut (and no shame to those that do that) your writing probably scores next to no notes and as a writer myself i know that you’re not supposed to do it for the notes but it’s honestly so demotivating to put so much effort into a piece of writing you’re super proud of and have it get no likes or reblogs because it’s not smut
tumblr isn’t what it used to be and so many people are leaving and as a singular blog it’s like well what the hell can i do about that?
but at the same time i know a lot of other people (and i’m hoping all of you) feel the exact same way as i do and i want to try and do something to bring old harry potter tumblr back
i’m not positive if everyone i tagged is even active anymore or still writes for harry potter… for those of you that have left the app or the fandom and do not wish to be included that is perfectly fine and i wish you well!! i also realize a few of the people i tagged are planning on leaving soon as well and if that’s still your choice afterwards that’s obviously okay too
for everyone else, i’m not even sure what we can do or where to start
i don’t want to tell writers “oh, from now on you can only write and post about angst” or “if a fic contains smut make sure you don’t interact with it” like that is absolutely not the message i’m trying to get across
but what i’m saying is maybe we can try and host an event where for a brief period writers of the harry potter fandom from when tumblr was at its peak (and of course newer and older ones as well) can come back all together and write to our hearts content with x reader angst and fluff to gain attention and traction for our favourite characters and try and make this fandom what it used to be
and obviously that may not be ideal because we all have our own lives and most of us are in school and have jobs so like when can we even do this?? but i for one thought christmas break was a good idea and saying that i recognize not everyone celebrates christmas but from what i know most schools still have a holiday break??
anyways it’s literally just a brain storm at the moment and this might flop and i’ll be embarrassed for a bit but if you read this far thank you for hearing me out
