I love my Alfred's smart but oh so dumb 😩 boy can and will spend an afternoon explaining nuclear fission and theoretical physics if you let him but will also try to fish his toast out of the toaster with a metal fork. Beautiful baby girl that can take apart and repair just about any kind of contraption then put it all back together from memory alone and then forget Obama's last name. He's is so incredibly, frighteningly intelligent and a cringe fail dumbass 🩵
tim: sweet dog you got there. gordon: yes, this is our new drug-sniffing dog. tim: still training huh? gordon: red robin.. what do you mean? tim: ... tim: nevermind...
no more cold and calculating i want warm and calculating. i want characters who use deductive reasoning to figure out whether their friend would like a wool or cotton quilt based off of their lifestyle, career, hobbies, and habits. i want "your nails are often chipped because you work for a law firm as a typist for this company which notoriously underbudgets their IT department, so ive bought you a keyboard cover that will not only prevent manicure damage but is also sensory friendly because I know you dislike certain clicking noises". i want characters who figure out their friends entire schedules and social battery levels just by examining who only use that info to know when the best time is to hang out with them. i want characters who create elaborate, supervillain level schemes just to get their hands on some collectible they know their best friend wants. most of all i want characters who do not use intelligence and reasoning skills as a reason to be cruel but as a means to be kind
You don't understand there's a part of me that wants Alfred Pennyworth to never age but there's another part that's like
As Alfred grows older his body grows tired and everyone notices. And for Bruce that's his surrogate father. For everyone else that's Grandpa. Immediately there's a secret boot camp in the Batcave for everyone to start learning how to better care for themselves. Selina Kyle assisting of course.
There's already disability accommodations for Barbara so they just need to tweak and add some stuff. They've learned from her needs and start researching on how to care for the elderly for Alfred specifically.
On paper he's still a butler but really everyone (who lives or stays for a long time in Wayne manor) makes sure they learn how to do the hardwork for themselves. Most of his job is just to be there for them honestly. They insist on doing things for themselves.
But Alfred is Alfred. So he knows what's going on. And he's so deeply proud of them. He doesn't let him do anything he insists he can or wants do himself. He's still his own person after all, and they gradually learn his boundaries and patterns.
Bruce keeps paying him but not in a way you'd pay a butler usually. More in a way where you'd send money to your retired parents.
Do you see my vision?
imagine the “Robin meets the JL while Batman is away” trope but it’s inverted. instead of being funny and interesting and extroverted all of the Robins just bolt. bolt, hide, or fight. B told them not to ever let themselves get cornered and to run if a meta sets eyes on them. so they run, they hide, and they fight back with a tiny shard of holdout Kryptonite B had embedded in their gauntlet. they dig their boots in, clench their fists, and prepare to be immovable at <100 lbs.
A concept: your typical ragtag team of misfit supers, but they all follow different realities/logics as their powers.
One of them has standard anime/magical girl abilities, one can utilize cartoon logic to their advantage, one of them has near omniscience thanks to their ability to break the fourth wall, and another one has protagonist luck that ensures they always win.
this is cute a ughhhhhh
Part 1
[2][3][4]
Donnie loves to make stuff for his family, and he’s got the perfect thing for Raph! There’s some kind of saying about gifts and horses though…
I like to think that Batman’s suit is really heavy
Like, the thing obviously Kevlar weave, with lots of armour reinforced bits, not to mention all of the gear and gadgets and tools he has on his person, I mean, anything he’s ever thought he may need, anything he’s been mid fight thinking that a particular tool would be useful, he has it somewhere, probably a few of them
And all the kids too, they’re equally equipped even if they don’t necessarily look it
So I like to imagine that some of the heroes decided they should do a costume switch for fun
The bats agreed, and the best part wasn’t them being weirded out like they thought they’d be, unmasked and all that, no, they couldn’t care less, instead everyone else is freaking out about how heavy the bats costumes are
How the hell do they do impossible feats of acrobatics wearing shit like this
Even the supers think it’s excessive, and they have super strength
The bats all take the opportunity to try some of their moves without the weight, given that they work out wearing even more weight
Turns out they can flip and jump and move in even more insane ways than anyone thought possible and everyone is more terrified than they were a few minutes ago
Everyone decides the bats are better with their gadgets
bruce being a flawed dad and fucking up so many times while raising dick but dick insisting on seeing the good in him first and to help him is so UGHHHH
"because of dick grayson bruce wayne became a better man" is so incredibly true man. dick grayson is an incredible human being and his "help first not punish" attitude he demonstrates with many but most notably bruce. dick truly changed him for the better and AND AND
oughh i could talk for hours but their dislogue at alfred's grave in issue 100 of nightwing, log entry BT-70 from bruce in gotham knights and episode 80 of wayne family adventures all sum it all up pretty well
"why is Bruce trying to be Nightwing, they should have let Tim or Jason do it" why does ANYONE else have to be Nightwing. Can't Dick have one thing that's just his
So, I know the fandom (myself very included) love to talk about JLA playing fuck marry kill with Brucie Wayne as an option...but I offer an alternative. Bruce overhears a conversation between Clark, Diana, and Hal.
Clark: No I mean if we're playing, I'd fuck you Diana, obviously it would be a wonderful night--
Diana: and all the way into the morning, obviously
Clark: Obviously. And I'd marry Batman, so sorry Hal, I guess you gotta go.
Hal, outraged: Marry Bats???? Over Me???
Clark: Yeah, hello, have you seen him? No offense and all, but if you get the chance to sleep with wonder woman you kinda have to. And if I marry Batman I get sweet gadgets, nerdy banter, awful coffee, and I get to use the little ears on the cowl as handles while I bend him over the breakfast table every morning.
(plot twist, Clark totally knows Batman's there and this is his extremely weird and roundabout way of flirting)
