Headcanon Bruce Color-coded His Kids... But The Colors Make No Sense With The Power Of Hindsight

In the DC world before Martha and Thomas Wayne were killed in an alley, they were incredibly in love. They were also very Gotham.

Rather than the Addams family existing in the dc universe as actual people, Martha and Thomas Wayne were the inspirations for the Addams Family in the dc world. The cartoonist who created the Addams family cartoon strip in the dc world went to a Gotham gala and saw Martha and Thomas, saw Thomas being an absolute simp for his beloved wife. He then witnessed a sword fight that broke out during the gala because Gotham. No one in Gotham bats an eye at a sword fight no matter the time period. No one in Gotham bats an eye at anything because even before the Bat came about, Gotham was still Gotham and people roll with the weird in Gotham. Sword fights were normal. Sword fights are still normal. Different types of sword fighting are electives you can take instead of gym in some Gotham high schools. The cartoonist got out of Gotham by the skin of his teeth and vowed never to return. Tiny Bruce was happier when he was little but he was still a Gothamite and absolutely inspired tiny Wednesday Addams who, by Gotham standards, is quite a pleasant and normal little girl.

Grown up Bruce deliberately avoids Addams family related media. His kids are all amused by the show if/when they see any of it because the Addams really are quite tame by Gotham standard.

My headcanons about Dick Grayson

Dick Grayson is smart.

Like I hate it when they make him a dumb bimbo, he's hot yes he knows it, but he also has been hacking into the Pentagon for fun since he was ten, survived Spyral and several almost apocalypses. I know it's cannon since no Bat is dumb, but some fics, SOME FICS, make him look like he never went to school.

Dick Grayson knows so many languages.

I assume due to the fact that he grew up in a traveling circus he already knew a lot of languages(even if his english was bad when his parents died), but due to being robin and Bruce Wayne's ward he learned basically all major languages on Earth( and some alien) like Romani, German, French, Russian, English, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Irish, Finish, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Indian, Latin, backwards speech(Zatara), Tamoranian(i think that's how you spell it), Kryptonian, speedster(when speedsters talk super fast) and so on.

Dick Grayson has at least some immunity against Fear toxin(Ft), Joker venom(Jv).

And most of the other poisons due to constant exposure since he was 9, also when he was younger there were no antidotes for Ft and Jv so he learned how to ride them out without a sound. (You can't tell me it hasn't fucked him up somehow, like a 9 y/o being constantly exposed to these things HAS to have some consequences and while he has his immunity I also think he has extreme anxiety( like all the bats a.k.a. Bat paranoia) and constant panic attacks(next headcanon))

Dick Grayson is a master at controlling his body.

Besides the fact that he probably learned acrobatics before he could walk and was a stage performer(always smiled even if the performance got off the rails) I also think he has taught himself complete control of his body due to far too many close calls. He learned to control each muscle individually for combat under high-stress situations(where he most needs that control). This had a side effect of him being able to control his face muscle/expressions and body language. He became the best actor there will ever be, because he can keep a smile on his face even if he is in excruciating pain, he can look completely calm and relaxed even though he is having a panic attack and the opposite is true as well he can look completely terrified even though he is amused. Because of this you need to know him extremely well to tell if he's in distress(the only people so far are Alfred, Damian and Slade(he's obsessed))

Anyway if you want more of the headcanon's just say, Nightwing is one of my favourite characters I can rant about him much longer.

Something I noticed is that Bruce isn’t really that sympathetic to his villains unless that are family or have been romantically involved with him

Selina is stolen so much stuff with no regard for who it is half the time but she has gotten a pass over and over

Jason and Talia have murdered a lot of people but they get a pass because Jason is one of Bruce’s kids and Talia is Damian’s mom

But when it comes to everyone else it usually radio silence

But on the other hand you have Batman the animated series where Bruce tries his best and is super understanding and compassionate with everyone, including his rouges

I’m not criticizing any specific character this is just an observation about how Bruce is usually written but there are exceptions, of course

i have this headcanon that laios winds up helping in the castle's kitchen gardens in his (infrequent) spare time. he does a lot of heavy lifting in the manga and i just don't get think he would enjoy being super idle as a king, ya know? he'd help the actual gardeners by moving stuff around, watering, weeding, small stuff. he'd also be interested in helping choose what's planted and he could specifically choose to plant herbs and veg that his friends like.

actually, i don't think laios would stop at just the kitchen gardens. you know what decorative gardens have a lot of? shrubs. you know what you can do with shrubs? trim them into cool shapes. you know whats a cool shape? monsterrrrsss. my guy would love a garden full of monster shrubs. or even just parterres that have cool monster-relevant designs.

and it's not just laios! early in the manga, marcille talks about using natural dungeons (like the one falin showed her) to plant mana herbs like mandrake without the danger of artificial dungeons. maybe marcille and falin have a greenhouse dedicated to experimental mana plants!
