the best, most permanent way to exude quiet confidence, or any vibe, is to possess it, own it at your very core. i'm not going to lie to you, it takes work to build and maintain, however that's just all the more reason to start right away! the good news is that because there is no final stage where all your efforts suddenly bear fruit, you can already witness your life, relationships, and confidence improve with every incremental step. hope these ideas help you in your journeys, lovelies π
personally, i'm referring to the confidence that comes from being so secure and at home with yourself. it's not about being unshakable, but about being able to regain your balance with increasing grace over time. a person with quiet confidence doesn't feel the need to be the center of attention for everyone all the time, because they know their worth independent of anyone else.
so, how does one become this person?
everything else flows from this, so it's important to build a strong foundation. journaling and meditation can help, but a person is much more than just their thoughts and words. it is in their actions that their personalities really shine through. it's not just about what you do, it's about how you do it.
when you enjoy something, do you try to play it βcool and unaffected,β or are you able to move past ego and share that enjoyment with others?
when you don't enjoy something but it's truly necessary, do you whine and mope, or are you able to tap into your grit and optimism?
when you are in a social gathering, are you making eye-contact, viewing each person without judgement, encouraging those who aren't talking much when a topic of their interest arises?
when there is a lull in the conversation, are you able to simply sit with it, maybe even bask in the energy of your company?
to become a person who exudes quiet confidence, you need to practice putting thoughts and words into conscious actions π as the saying goes, βyou are what you do.β
confident people don't project their insecurities onto others. it doesn't mean that they don't have insecurities or qualities they'd like to improve, but they have the self-awareness to work on themselves and work with others' strengths and weaknesses independently of their own.
π some signs of projecting to recognize:
emotional opinions about others
inability to give specific examples to support those opinions
quickly finding fault in others
victim mentality
π how to stop:
if you've gone as far as to wrong someone because of your projecting, sincerely apologize β no excuses β and do what you can to make things right
start checking for the above signs of projection early and often
practice empathy β put yourself in the other person's shoes and try see things from their perspective. of course, no one expects you to be a mind-reader. this is more of an exercise in imagination to demonstrate to yourself that the first narrative that pops into your head (usually the most familiar one, a.k.a. your own) is not necessarily the truth
finally, make time daily for the little things that help or remind you to take pride in yourself βΊοΈ you don't need to take a lot of time out of your day. the more impactful approach is small, consistent routines that can be maintained long-term. more on being consistent here!
for example:
affirmations some examples here!
personal hygiene and grooming
exercising more on that here!
developing a skill
building a portfolio
more ideas here!
it's also important to respect your own limits, whether it's time, energy, even money. don't let others shame you for not working unpaid overtime or not going out every weekend or not spending as much money. more on maintaining healthy boundaries here!
π: have i missed anything? π€ what is something that gives you an instant confidence boost? π
So true. And a lot of them use translating devices, which do not directly translate what they are saying, and therefore they do not properly communicate to their partners.
love/hate watching 90 day fiance "the other way" because you get to see americans fully living in foreign countries for 1+ year or dating their partner for up to 5 and they still cannot manage the most bare bones conversation in their partner's native language and are sitting there like sentient rocks during important family conversations going "what did he say? what did she say?" like you don't think this maybe has something to do with why your relationship is crumbling. lol. lmao.
What's a citizen science project? Basically, it's crowdsourced science. In this case, crowdsourced climate science, that you can help with!
You don't need qualifications or any training besides the slideshow at the start of a project. There are a lot of things that humans can do way better than machines can, even with only minimal training, that are vital to science - especially digitizing records and building searchable databases
Like labeling trees in aerial photos so that scientists have better datasets to use for restoration.
Or counting cells in fossilized plants to track the impacts of climate change.
Or digitizing old atmospheric data to help scientists track the warming effects of El NiΓ±o.
Or counting penguins to help scientists better protect them.
Those are all on one of the most prominent citizen science platforms, called Zooniverse, but there are a ton of others, too.
Oh, and btw, you don't have to worry about messing up, because several people see each image. Studies show that if you pool the opinions of however many regular people (different by field), it matches the accuracy rate of a trained scientist in the field.

I spent a lot of time doing this when I was really badly injured and housebound, and it was so good for me to be able to HELP and DO SOMETHING, even when I was in too much pain to leave my bed. So if you are chronically ill/disabled/for whatever reason can't participate or volunteer for things in person, I highly highly recommend.
What if I make a Ava Orlova RP blog

If you want to be an ally to the Jewish people, youβd better be ready to fight the antisemitism faced by all Jews.
Zionist Jews. Anti- and non-Zionist Jews. Observant Jews. Secular Jews. Israeli Jews. Ashkenazi Jews. Sephardic Jews. Mizrahi Jews. Beta Israeli Jews. Desi Jews. Convert Jews. White-passing Jews. Jews of color. Visibly-Jewish Jews. Queer Jews. Left-wing Jews. Right-wing Jews. Patrilineal Jews.
We are one people, and if you only fight antisemitism when it targets the Jews you like, youβre not actually an ally of the Jewish people.
Good morning, afternoon, or evening to anyone reading this!
My boyfriend and I have added to our Disney Descendants multi-crossover AU.
In addition to our original characters, we have established a timeline for the AU, and changed up the backstories of canon characters, one example being Vanellope Von Schweetz.
In our Disney Descendants AU, Vanellope Von Schweetz is actually Vanessa Madrigal, as she is Mirabel Madrigal's daughter. "Vanellope Von Schweetz" is her screen name. She was born right between Belle and the Beast's wedding and the formation of Auradon, making her, according to the timeline of our AU, three-and-a-half years older than Prince/King Ben(her exact date of birth is November 27, 1995) . She is one of a set of triplets, and she has two brothers. I will elaborate about them in another post.
She is one of the very first graduates/alumni of Auradon Prep(Class of 2014). At the time of the Descendants franchise, she is in university, studying mechanical engineering.
I will provide details of the events of the Wreck It Ralph movies in our AU in another post.
Thank you for reading my post and have a nice day or night!
I knew the movie was gonna be a flop when I saw who the cast were. Colleen shouldβve got upcoming small cast to play the characters and do justice with it. Serena didnβt. She made it all about herself, me me meeee. The whole thing was a pr mess and I look at Blake very differently now.
Yes! The casting pissed me off but then I was starting to like Justin as Ryle but Blake as Lilly. NO WAY! She took the press tour as an opportunity to boast about her style, she saw how much love Margot got and wanted that. I donβt think she realised though that the entire cast of barbie had so much love and respect for each other and they LOVED their director and would sing her praises all the time. Blake took something that meant sooo much to Justin and made it all about her self. And the fashion choices of the film which she canβt seem to shut her trap about are the worst parts of the film. Lillyβs wardrobe is HIDEOUS.
saw this on Instagram and just HAD to shareπ
