Today I fell down the stairs while texting and when I got to the bottom I realized that I had hit the “audio message” function and sent them an entire 30 second recording of it

The fact that this is 80 fucking years ago but still just as relevant is terrifying.
As someone who is in a lot of writing intensive classes for college, i am deeply frustrated with what google has become, so much so that i’ve begun to look in the college library website instead.
As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse. It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms
As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable. As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.
Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.
⁂
Google is so powerful that it “hides” other search systems from us. We just don’t know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.
www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.
www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.
https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.
www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.
http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.
www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.
www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.
www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free
Surprise! Tumblr just got turned into an epic fantasy RPG, just like [your favorite appropriate media franchise]. And the Tumblr RPG's plot needs to have all of its characters covered, in roles both large and small.
That means that you are assigned to a stereotypical RPG role inside our new fantasy world. Spin this wheel to find out what you are now doing for a living.
That feeling of trying to cough in such a way that doesn’t sound like you are hacking up your lungs, so the public think you don’t have tuberculosis
I know viruses have some purpose in this world.
But why do they have to come for me, specifically?
Been a bit since I posted art, I wanna do that more cause the world needs more of it. We need to experience more joy in art.
These two are Vega(Antlered man) and Wisteria
Vega is a dragon who can control the weather and Wisteria is a mysterious woman who just happened to be in the fae wild
Vega likes to garden and Wisteria likes to paint and make sun-catchers :)
Not perfect and not always right but basically:
Is it a screen shot?
Is there a link?
Did you click/read the link?
Was it a real source (AP wire, local news, the original online post - not Fox, not the Sun, not NY Post, etc)?
Did you find any confirmation?
Did it strongly confirm a bias or suspicion?
Did it make you feel angry, smug, disgusted, superior, and/or helpless?
Is it important enough to you that you think it needs to be shared?
Do you have the energy, time, ability to research, confirm, and provide sources, links, and some additional clarifying details?
Generally I have this in mind, not necessarily always and not always observed, and I forget and blah blah. But it's a pretty simple guide to remember, and honestly items 1 and 9 cover me most of the time.
HOLD UP HOW WAS I NOT AWARE OF THIS
god that line hit me square in the chest
i'm really easily overwhelmed my noise, and some days even my brothers bickering is too much for me
I have earplugs, and it helps a lot, but I really wish I could just turn my ears off on command
community piece is still being worked on, just had a few busy days in a row. Still looking for skids to draw !
Tragic. Tumblr user made a good point but was unnecessarily condescending about it. Will not be reblogging
mm…interesting indeed. very interesting.
wow holy shit those until dawn totems are ass. why cant they do their research. tho i guess if they did do that we wouldnt be seeing totems at all
Nah they're totally accurate depictions of Pacific Northwest Indigenous totem poles that (squints) Indigenous people of the.. Northeast handcrafted (sarcasm)
Love that for the top of the poles, a spot generally reserved for important figureheads and crests such as the eagle, we have... a bull, a dragonfly, and... what really looks like an oni mask or a depiction of Devil from Bible tm
Yeah one time I became stressed for an exam and then I proceeded to become suddenly very unwell and threw up. Don’t stress yourself out please T-T
There's a bunch of adhd advice out there that's like "people with adhd tend to work better under deadlines due to the anxiety so here are ways to artificially induce a stress response in order to get you to get work done" and it's like well what if I don't want to be stressed out all the time in order to function
sooo i started playing Breath of The Wild since I got a switch for christmas, didn’t think i’d like it, but i do. Thanks to Link
Here’s some assorted doodles of my silly mishaps and other stuff
https://www.tumblr.com/esmecatrealm/770577398863380480/would-drowning-a-creature-or-person-in-warm-maple?source=share
I want your take on this because I think it would improve the taste but also be deeply unethical
Pa said if drowned them, they wouldn’t taste good and introduce toxins and wouldn’t be good to eat. HOWEVER if you force fed them a diet of maple syrup until they died, then they’d taste good…
I can’t believe I typed all of that lol
cant stop thinking about this video
