What’s one word you’d use to describe Katsuki Bakugo?

Mina asks as she shoves a pretend microphone in your face. 

You blink, place your thumb in the book you're reading and shut it to smile up at her. “Mina what is this?” 

“Come on! We’re supposed to be practicing for interviews and stuff and I’m sure they’re gonna ask us about our fellow classmates sooooo… play along would ya?” She says putting a hand on her hip. Ochako and Hagakure are standing behind her, practically bouncing on their tiptoes. 

You give them all a look, and twist your lips to the side with a suspicious frown. “Alright fine,” you say sighing. “Ask me your question.” 

“We’ve noticed you and pro hero Dynamight have been spending a bit of time together on patrols and teaming up for missions. The two of you seem close,” Mina starts in her best interviewer voice. 

You roll your eyes. It’s true, you and Bakugo have been working together more, but it’s only because your quirks seem to be extremely compatible. Kirishima’s hardening is good for endurance practice, but your shields are better at condensing his explosions, quieting them and helping with stealth. 

“We work well together to get the job done,” you reply simply. 

“Right yes, we’ve seen the two of you jump in popularity on the hero charts. Very impressive,” Mina continues and you think you see her hide a snicker behind her arm before she continues. 

“Given how much time the two of you have spent together, I’d figure you know him better than most of us,” she says and it feels like she’s baiting you into something. You squint your eyes. 

“I mean I know him just as much as anyone he works with. Mina, what is this about?” you ask and she shushes you quickly. 

“Come on, don't break character!” she scolds as you roll your eyes. “What’s one word you’d use to describe your colleague Katsuki Bakugo? We’re all dying to get inside his head a bit,” she asks again. 

You huff, open your book and slip a piece of paper into it. Clearly you’re not getting back to it anytime soon. You think for only ten seconds before you look seriously up at her, staring directly into her eyes as you answer. 

“Quiet,” you say simply. 

All three girls sputter and react with wide eyes. “Quiet?!?!  Bakugou?!?!?” Mina squeals. 

“Are you sure we’re talking about the same Bakugou? Spiky blonde hair, explosions, always has a scowl on his face?” Hagakure replies. 

You roll your eyes again, “Yup. The very same one. Now are we done with the interview? My book was just getting good,” you say, tapping the hard cover impatiently. 

“No no no you can’t just name a word that’s the complete opposite of him and then not expect to explain. Forget the mock interview. Spill!” Mina demands. 

You blink up at them in confusion. “But… it’s not the complete opposite of him. When he’s not battling a villain or training, he barely speaks, don’t you notice? He’s usually alone or walking around with headphones. If anything he’s lost in thought. He’s a complete control freak about his progress so he’s always thinking about how he can be better but he doesn’t vocalize it. During patrols I have to pull conversation from him and even then, it’s quite short. With how much he stays to himself, I can't even imagine how loud his thoughts must be,” you explain. 

Mina stops and stares at you in disbelief, but you stare past her head, remembering all of the patrols you had with him. 

He’s always been nothing but quiet around you. It’s almost like he goes out of his way to be quieter and calmer around you. Even after blasting a villain to kingdom come and screaming “GO TO HELL”, he always comes back to you with a soft gravelly, “Nice defense today,” or an even quieter, “Thanks for having my back.” 

You’d kill to hear him scream and yell all of his thoughts like you assume everyone else thinks he does. He’s always been a mystery to you, never able to crack his hard exterior. 

“I think sometimes, he’s even a little sweet,” you whisper and you think it’s to yourself until Mina’s nose is practically hitting yours. 

“Oh my god, you’re… you’re blushing…OH MY GOD! YOU LIK–”

You slap a hand over her mouth quickly while the other two girls squeal. “Shut it! It’s not like that!” you say quickly as the others giggle. 

To your horror, Bakugou is walking up behind them, weaving through the chairs in the large common room. 

“Oi, I just got off patrol. Wanna spar?” he asks, ignoring the others and looking directly at you. 

You give Mina a threatening look that says “I’ll skin you alive if you say a word” before you drop your hand from her mouth and say to him “Uhh yeah, gimme like five minutes to change.”  

“Fine, meet me back here in five then. We can get dinner after,” he says, turning to walk away. 

The girls continue to snicker under their breath as he walks away, but you don’t hear them. All you can focus on is the tips of Bakugou’s ears as he walks away, inflamed a brilliant shade of red and you could swear that he turned ever so slightly to peer at you over his shoulder from the corner of his eye. And on the corner of his mouth, a hint of a little smirk.

Friendships with BNHA school students part 1/?

Sitting here thinking about how I’d interact with the BNHA characters. Friendships!

Bakugou: the first time I shifted, I flipped him off. Every time I see him we fight over something stupid. It’s not your typical hate friendship either. He’ll bully me over my fear of lightning (my quirk) and I’ll call him out on the dumb actions he’d do. I found out he can be overprotective in his own way. There was a moment where he dragged me out of my room by carrying me down the steps and me struggling. Though it was harsh, he told me to stop moving unless I wanted him to dropped me. He had a GRIP on me, in a way I like to think as protectiveness. Still a shithead though. 

Deku: I haven’t got to really meet meet him but I see him as a peacemaker when Bakugou and I fight. I’d get along with his brain storming. While he talks in gibberish, I put together what he says (Vice versa) Green boi imo would be the biggest sweetheart and protective. 

Todoroki: Never really seen Todoroki, only once. He shut up an argument with Bakugou by saying we act like a married couple. (Love angry boi but no) I feel like I’d be able to sit in silence with him without having to force myself to talk. Maybe even eat noodles with him and watch a show.

Denki: I went shopping one time with him and I’m pretty sure the kid showed up in a pikachu costume. I’d love to see what would happen if I gave him one of my Monster drinks. Very hyper sparky boy? Yes please. Absolutely chaotic when I’m around him. Purposely going around and shocking people to see their hair poof up. And pranks. LOTS of pranks with him.

Kirishima: This sweet kid helped me with my fear of lightning. He bought me a pair of noise canceling headphones in my FAVORITE color just because he felt bad. Also has saved me from getting kill by bomb boy. Blushes a lot with affection. If I did work out, he’d definitely be my go to work out buddy. even after finding out the real me, he still cared for me like it was nothing.

Sero: I feel like sero would be the type to skate. I have a skateboard that I used and if I were close with him I’d for sure skate with him. Hope to interact with him more soon.

Mina: this chick would definitely try to get me all dress up. Gossips a lot. Legit was in my face about who I was when I met her. I’m not the type to dress up however I wouldn’t mind picking outfits out with her or go shopping. Hype but laid back.

Smoke floods the screen; big billows of charcoal gray and black smothering the world with ash. Sky in the background, the sun hangs in a defeated glaze, overpowered with a blooming darkness that swirls in tandem with the clouds. 

From the haze, a torn costume makes itself known; orange and green uniting in the form of steel cut shoulders and wide sprawling Xs. A single, large gauntlet adorning a wrist that’s attached to an equally as intimidating bicep, the other fist clenched tightly in the loops of a belt…

Bakugo appears…

… and the camera that is recording almost shakes in excitement. 

He is power, he is force… all wrapped up as one single man: imposing, daunting, and strong. Someone the world relies on, and someone who is meant to be great. 

“Dynamight!” an interviewer yells, animatedly, bubbly, running into the frame from somewhere off screen. The man has a wide, toothy smile that bounces between the camera and Bakugo’s face, and he catches up with a noticeable puff of air. “So glad I caught you, spare a minute for a couple questions?”

Bakugo grunts, the camera zooming in on him wiping soot off his sweat-streaked face. He nods, one single strike of his chin downward, but nonetheless continues to make his way through the rubble that takes up the rest of the crime-scene-turned-battleground. The interviewer, still beaming, jogs alongside him without breaking a sweat. 

“What an amazing battle, sir!” His voice is cheery and unbothered, stiff with a practiced perfection that only a trained TV anchor would have. 

Bakugo grunts again. 

“What is this?” he says. “Your 79th consecutive win this year?” 

“80th.” 

The interviewer ignores the mistake. 

“We need to celebrate! What sounds good to ol’ Murder God Dynamight?”

“Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight,” Bakugo corrects once more. The words also go unnoticed with a spritely blink and uncanny smile. 

“And to think, this venue was for weddings, too…” 

There’s a pregnant pause, Bakugo’s booted foot halting in the air, his once neutral-if-not-undetectably-peeved expression now falling stiff with eyebrows twitching. 

“Say, we all know you have a special someone back at home,” the interviewer declares, eyes lighting up as his grin visibly grows. “You have for quite a while now. Any plans on tying the knot soon?” 

The interview lasts less than a minute total. A new record for Katsuki Bakugo.

“I painted my nails.”

Midoriya turned from his spot by his desk, homework worksheets scattered everywhere in attempt fit in some studying for tomorrows quiz.

“Really?”

You hummed in response handing your hands behind your back. “Can you guess the color Hero?”

A red hue of a blush quickly spread across his face at the affectionate nickname.

“Pink?” He guessed.

A smug smiled bloomed a crossed your face. “Nope, guess again.”

He pondered, the boy had a guess in mind but didn’t want to come out and guess it right away.

“Orange.”

You started rocking back on fourth on the balls of your feet.

“Want a clue?”

Midoriya nodded.

“It’s a color that reminds me of you.”

Ok, so he definitely knew the answer, making his heart beat rapidly.

“Green?” He muttered shyly.

You beamed at the answer, taking your hands out from behind your back and proudly showing your deep green nails.

Midoriya’s lips parted in amazement, your nails looked amazing in the color he could tell it took you time to make sure the polish was applied smoothly. The thought behind the color you chosen made him emotional also.

“It looks amazing baby.” He complimented, taking your smaller hand in his and kissing the palm.

You chuckled and gestured for him to make room to sit.

Midoriya pushed his chair away from his desk and as you sat in his lap, wrapping your arms around his neck.

“So that everywhere I go, I have a piece of you with me.”

Before you could do anything else, your boyfriends water ducts of tears started to fill the room.
