yesterday, you had departed from your classroom in a dismal mood, to say the least. after witnessing a few female classmates swarm bakugou to chat about his astounding quirk, you dawned on the fact that he seemed nicer to them than you—insults were still thrown around, yet they weren’t as heavy as the ones he showered you with.

you had absolutely zero ill-will towards them, the animosity was actually directed at yourself. was he nicer because they were prettier, or because they wore showy dresses and skirts?

here you were, dressed in baggy denim jeans and a hoodie, was that the problem? you never took part in the salon trips or trying on dresses like the other girls, was that what he wanted?

before this, you had come to the conclusion that katsuki bakugou, your bestfriend, never once had an interest in dating and such. recent events have swayed your view, though—so here you are now, standing idly in front of your mirror adjusting your skirt.

you only own one, and it was a gift. while it fits you nicely and the color compliments your eyes, you feel uncomfortable and stiff. you smooth it out a bit more, rolling your shoulders to try and ease the tension in them.

no use, you still have this awkward feeling. you don’t feel like you, you feel like you’re trying to be someone else. that said, you shake it off to the best of your abilities, finishing up your usual routine—just this time, with a skirt.

as discomfiting as it is to don yourself in this outfit, you know you have to attempt it. you can’t jump to conclusions just yet, if you try and are unsuccessful, then you can be dejected about it. a knock at your dorm drags you from your unquieting head, the aggression gives away the culprit easily.

“fuck is takin’ you so long? we’re gonna be late, dumbass!” bakugou’s voice rings in your ears, and anxious, uninvited feelings accompany it.

you dash around your room, snatching your school stuff in a hurry. “it’s fine! just head there without me, katsuki.”

some grumbles flow from your door, then it slams ajar. you swing around, pivoting on your heel at the intrusion.

“what the hell are you doing! you’re gonna be late, just go—and stop breaking into my room!”

the semi-shout does the opposite of deterring him, and he shoves the door closed behind him as he crosses his arms in agitation. he even taps his foot against the wooden floors, you having to stifle a laugh at his demeanor.

“maybe you should lock your door, stupid.—” his head falls to face the ground, “—y’know i’m not gonna walk without you, hurry the fuck up.”

you huff and as his head rises back up, he notices.

“the hell are you wearin’?”

your eyes fly to the wall behind him, arms coming to cover yourself instinctively as an unpleasant feeling crawls up your spine. had you messed up?

“i’m—uh, it’s just a skirt. i just figured that, um, i should.. try something new.” your uneasiness flows through your voice, and bakugou definitely takes notice.

“is it bad..?”

he scoffs, closing the proximity between you both by just a bit.

“do you think it’s bad?”

you open your mouth to respond, but nothing falls out. of course you think it’s bad, but you want to know if he does too.

“uh, i mean, i’m uncomfortable. i’d rather be in my normal clothes but i don’t really.. look good in those, i guess.” the words come out unconfident, much to your dismay.

you begin to play with your fingers, hoping he’ll just let is slide and accompany you to class like always.

“hey, stupid. take it off.”

your eyes blow wide, the hell did he just say?

“what?”

“i’ll turn around, just put on somethin’ you actually feel fuckin’ comfortable in.” before you can retort, he spins around.

sighing, you settle for the assumption that he simply doesn’t see you like that. it must’ve been weird for him to see you in girly clothes, maybe he thinks of you as one of the guys or something.

slipping out of the coarse textured skirt, you tweak your new agreeable outfit to your liking. a cozy long-sleeved shirt and loose fitting jeans, the normal. before you can finish tidying yourself up, bakugou snaps the silence in half.

“why’d you decide to go and try to change into that shit, anyways? you told me you’d start dressin’ like that when hell freezes over.”

you pause, thinking of the correct way to word it without seeming odd.

“you’re nicer to the girls who dress like that.”

the room falls deadly silent once again, and for a split second, you feel sick to your stomach.

“are you done changin’?”

“yeah.”

bakugou swiftly turns to face you, stomping over until he’s directly in front of your pretty face.

“you tried to wear that shit for me?”

you nod, feeling a bit mentally diminutive compared to his intimidating frame.

“don’t. i like you the way you are and i’d rather you be comfortable, dumbass.” he settles his rough palms above your shoulders.

“then why are you meaner to me..?” this is the last question you need an answer to, and the shock hasn’t fully set in yet so you decide to ask it now.

he growls, shaking you back and forth.

“fuck, this is really embarrassin’, so you better not go makin’ fun of me and shit.—” he halts his movements, letting his hands fall to his sides.

he covers the bottom of his face with one palm, the other resting soundly in place at his side.

“—have you, have you ever heard that if you bully someone more—goddammit! i like you, alright? there, i fuckin’ said it.”

buffering, you’re speechless. that’s why he was so rude to you? why didn’t he just say so, it would’ve saved you a lot of trouble!

“really? you like me like this?” you gesture to your boyish looking clothes, arching a brow in questioning.

he nods silently, knowing his words would most likely flow out harsher than he means them to.

“wow, i—i did that because i like you! what a coincidence, right?”

“yeah, whatever. we’re already super fuckin’ late, so if you’re comfortable then let’s go.” he takes your hand in his, uncharacteristically gentle, and stomps out of your dorm.

you flush heavily, eyeing your connected hands as a smile breaks out on your face. bakugou abruptly stops in his tracks.

“the only reason i’d have for hatin’ what you wear,—” his unoccupied hand reaches towards both of yours, tugging up the sleeve that made its way in between them. “—is that these shitty sleeves keep me from feelin’ your hand in mine.”

you laugh a bit, face blazing as you both begin your walk to class once again. before you can say anything to doubt yourself though, he redirects your thoughts.

“the upside is that you look fuckin’ adorable in it, so i probably shouldn’t be complainin’.”

Part 1?

You frequently found yourself in this predicament. You were currently sitting in detention, you had already finished the small worksheet they game to distract you so now you were sitting there half asleep.

You looked up at your detention teacher, Present Mic who was currently on his phone typing away. He felt your burning gaze and looked towards you.

"Don't look at me like that," Mic mumbled as he tried and avoid your stare. He was normally your partner in crime and he would help you with all your little pranks, but this time he just threw you under the bus.

But before you could answer him you heard a sound bang and you both heard a ding sound come from his phone, immediately he looked at the message before visibly relaxing and letting out an almost relieved sigh.

"I uhh gotta go!" He said as he hurried out the door leaving you alone in this room which was a terrible mistake on his part. You dusted chock powder on his seat waiting for him to return to the classroom.

About five minutes later he showed up with another student, he was ash blond with red volcanic eyes and an angry scowl across his face. The boy sat a few rows behind you his scowl never leaving his face, but you didn't care you were waiting for Mic to take his seat. But much to your dismay he started walking out of the class again, Stating he needed to write the student down.

"Damn," you mumbled upset your plan didn't work. Not wanting to think about the failed prank any longer you turned your attention to the ash-blond male.

"So what'd ya do?" You asked in a bored monotone voice, the ash-blond just glared at you before speaking in his gruff voice "why do you wanna know?" He asked annoyed by being here, you just smiled raising an eyebrow "I just wanted to know what a pretty boy like you did to get put in detention~," You replied the teasing and playful nature of your response clear in your voice and you saw his eye twitch, he opened his mouth to respond but you spoke before he could "So what did ya do pretty boy?" He was quick to retort this time "I HAVE A NAME YOU KNOW!" He shouted out his hands setting off little explosions, you lifted an eyebrow waiting for him to tell you, it took him a few seconds to realize you were waiting for his name "names Bakugo Katsuki" he stated proudly chest puffed out and head held high.

"Well then wanna tell me what ya did Suki?" You asked once more he tensed at the nickname but let it go, he huffed in annoyance "stupid shitty hair.." He grits his teeth his hand grabbing hold of the edge of the desk.

"well, what did he do?" You questioned the blond only for him to stare at his desk, the poor boy looked like he was having war flashbacks. He took a deep breath before explaining what the boy nicknamed shitty hair did to make him so angry. "The idiot learned how to keep his hardened quirk form longer, and he got the bright idea to test if he could find his own against my explosions," he then went on to explain how "shitty hair" started to just talk about things that annoyed him and just doing dumb things to piss him off.

"And when shitty hair started talking about that stupid Deku I-" he paused for a moment looking at you before continuing, "I set an explosion off in his face" he whispered looking away from you, the room went quiet for a few moments before you burst into laughter "SO- SO THAT'S WHAT T-THAT LOUD ASS BANG WAS!?" you were holding your belly laughing so hard it started to hurt. Seeing your joyful reaction to bakugo's actions he cracked a grin. "He's lucky he hardened just in time!" He announced making you laugh harder.

After that, you and bakugo's conversation shifted to all kinds of things. Like what class he is in, what kind of video games he likes to play after school, and even somehow managed to start talking about each others cooking skills, you had just finished telling him about why you were no longer allowed in the kitchen.

"You know, you're not as bad as these other extras!" He said as he wiped a tear from his eye, he had been laughing nonstop for the past five minutes, "I'm mean how the fuck does someone burn water?!" He said struggling to hold in his laughter,

"look man I don't even know-" you chuckled as covered your face with your hand.

You looked up at the clock seeing you still had half the time left. You Internationally groaned, wanting to slam your head on the desk.

However, you got a great idea and you smirked; you turned toward your new ash-blonde friend.

"Wanna get out of here Suki?" You asked him, he only side-eyed you thinking for a moment before making a decision.

"Where you wanna go?" He asked his voice was low and had a husk to it. You thought for a moment, where would you go?

You then got a bright idea and turned to the blonde, "you wanna go to my Dorm?" You asked, and the blonde smirked. He looked to a slight light pink dust covering his cheeks before looking back to you.

"Sure."

And just like that you and Katsuki stood up getting close together as you sneaked out of the classroom and slowly made your way out of school, by the end of it you two were holding hands as you walked out of the gates.

"I got some horror video games and movies we could watch and I got some snacks stashed away."

You said as you continued to walk towards your dorm room, Katsuki was still focused on your hands; your fingers intertwined fingers.

He could feel his palms getting sweaty, he needed to calm down.

"Yeah, sounds good..." He mumbled in response.

Y/n: *livestreaming while playing minecraft* "Guy's...what the fuck happened to my house..WHY IS IT ON FIRE?!"

Mina(another livestreamer) in the voice call: "I saw Bakugo placing TNT on your house, I think he did it!"

Bakugo (who's also a livestreamer playing minecraft): "No I didn't? the fuck you on about?!" *in denial*

Bakugo: "...no."

When he first realizes he loves you

Pairing: Bakugo Katsuki x Reader

A/N: i could use some comfort bakugo rn and so I wrote one, figure i'd share it with u babies. Plus I missed writing him up hehe. Enjoy x

Bakugo first saw you in the entrance examination. 

He remembers thinking you were so dumb for wasting your time trying to help the other examinees instead of trying to gain as much points for yourself as you could. 

The next time he sees you was when you walked in late during the first day. You were so excited that you couldn't sleep the night before. You slept through your alarm and spent your morning speeding through your ritual and running from the train station to UA. Your hair was still a little damp from the shower and Bakugo could smell the scent of apples from your hair when you passed by him to take your seat.

You truly grabbed his interest after the first examination. Aside from having a strong quirk, you were strategic and a good team player. Bakugo made a mental note that you would come in handy when a group activity or mission comes along. And during the sports fest, he did not think twice about approaching you to be on his team. To be honest, you are the only one whose name he remembers. Well, aside from Kirishima. But he would rather stub his toe before admitting that to anyone.

Over time, he notices the little things about you that he found intriguing. You're friendly enough to everyone and could grab lunch with anybody in class but you also liked keeping it to yourself.

He noticed that you would prefer eating by the skirts of the field, under a tree most days instead of the cafeteria, with a book in hand. Bakugo would notice it's different almost every week. Some he's read in the past, some that made him curious enough to check it out after you're done. You don't notice it but the books you borrow would often be in his possession next after returning it to the library. Your names on the book card always scribbled next to one another.

Bakugo observes you, whether he does it subconsciously or not, he finds himself doing so every chance he gets. Not in a stalker kind of way, he's just honestly.. intrigued. 

It was like you are always trying to be someone for somebody else. A timid but quite a good singer next to Jirou's guitar playing during free period, an additional team player on the stupid game Kaminari, Sero and Kirishima play on their phones, a patient friend to Icyhot who explains the slang or joke he didn't get, a fan girl who geeks out with that dumb Deku over Allmight and hero stuff, and a competitor when it came to him. Someone who doesn't flinch at his harsh words and efforts to intimidate but merely laughs and sticks a tongue out playfully. Bakugo wins most of the time, of course, but you have had a fair share of wiping the floor with his ass.

Bakugo has never had a crush before. Thinking about girls that way just never really mattered to him. But, his intrigue with you would probably be as close as he would get. He's even gone out of his way a couple of times to converse with you and purposefully sit next to you during film showings, in the bus rides during excursions, and sometimes during lunches.

You always welcome him with a small smile and a nod. At some point, you just subconsciously save a seat for him for every occasion. All of your classmates notice this but would just share knowing grins and leave you two be. 

Deep down, Bakugo knew you were slowly becoming important to him pretty early on. He just refuses to acknowledge it as something other than friendship. It wasn't until after the incident in USJ when the class was attacked by the league when things started to change.

While he was fighting with Kirishima, he could not help but wonder where you were at the time. He knew you were strong but still he wishes you weren't fighting all alone or stuck with someone stupid who could get you hurt. 

Afterwards, when he learned that you were hurt, he couldn't remember the last time he ran so fast that his lungs felt like they were on fire. Bakugo got to where you were just as when the EMTs are loading you to the ambulance to rush you to the hospital. His heart was pounding even though Aizawa-sensei had already assured them that you and the rest of your injured classmates are going to be fine. That night was the first time he wasn't able to sleep in his entire life.

When you finally came back home, you were surprised to find him standing outside your house. Your parents welcomed him knowing he's a close friend of yours and even allowed him to help you to your bedroom. He stops right outside your bedroom door, eyeing your arm that was still in a cast and sighs. 

"Here, old hag said these should help with your recovery." Bakugo mutters as he hands you over a paper bag he was carrying. It was filled with pain killers, soothing ointments and a variety of fruits. You thanked him and took it but when he notices you struggling, he takes it back and proceeds to carry it for you in your room.

"You really shouldn't have. But the tangerines smell so good, thanks again." You grin, grabbing one from the back to hold it close to your nose, inhaling deeply. You startle when he suddenly snatches it from you and starts peeling it. "Go sit or lay in bed or something." He says, turning his back to throw the peels in your trash bin. Once over the shock, you do as you're told and sit by the edge of your bed. 

Bakugo then sits on the floor next to you. He opens his palm, offering you the tangerine and you grab a piece. You nibbled quietly and watched him curiously. You could tell he was upset but here he was doing the exact opposite by being so quiet. And caring. 

Finally, after eating more than half of the tangerines in his hand in silence, you ask, "Hey, are you okay?"

When he looks up at you, his expression grims. His nostrils flare and his chest heaves, he looks as if he was trying with all his might not to snap at you. But he did. "You're the one who got injured, you dumbass!" He derides, his expression only softens a little when he looks at the wound on your forehead and the cast on your arm again. 

"I'm fine, it's not that serious-" you start to say but he was rising on his feet, looking away from you. "Like shit, it wasn't!" He exhales sharply. 

Bakugo shakes his head and clenches his jaw. After a beat of silence, he confesses. "I got scared." His voice was low and if you were close enough, you'd hear how shaky it is. "I never felt like that before." 

Your brows furrow and you place a gentle hand on his arm, coaxing him to look at you but just he sighs, still refusing to look at you. "You did good, Katsuki." You try to comfort him. "Kirishima told me you saved them by catching the villain with the warp quirk and-"

"No, it's not that- I'm not scared of those scumbags, Y/n!" He yells out of frustration. "I was scared that something fucking bad happened because I couldn't be around to protect you! And when I saw you on the stretcher-" he struggled to breathe, like someone was gripping his airways. "Seeing you like that, covered in blood and unconscious. God, it felt like hell." 

Your heart swells, tears begin to blur your vision. You didn't realize you matter this much to him. You stood up too and pulled him into an awkward hug, your tears damping the front of his black shirt. With your uninjured hand, you rub his back in comfort. 

"I'm okay, I promise. I'm sorry I made you worry." You murmur. "But also, thank you-" You chuckle, shrugging. "-for giving a shit about me. Didn't know you did until now." Bakugo knows you're just teasing to lift his mood but shakes his head again and rolls his eyes.

"Idiot." He grumbles under his breath, hugging you back.

"I'll be more careful next time." You promised as you crane your neck to look up at him. Bakugo stares at you for a second too long, his heartbeat finally calming back down as he grounds himself with the fact that you're here, safe. 

"You better be." He says through gritted teeth, his rough calloused hand coming up to hold your cheek before he could realize what he was doing. But then you lean against his touch and he finds himself pulling you closer to him. 

"I left you for a goddamn minute and you just die on me?" He scowls, making you laugh. "I wasn't dying! Stop exaggerating!" This time you roll your eyes. You expect him to keep on bantering but he doesn't. He just stands there staring at you and you feel something between you two shifting.

And then he leans his forehead against yours, closing his eyes briefly as he murmurs, "Whatever, I'm never letting you out of my sight again." The pad of his thumb grazes your cheek and you find yourself holding the hand he placed against your face, lacing your fingers through his.

"I'd like that." You quietly admit. When he leans away to look at you, you stand on the tips of your toes and to plant a kiss on his cheek. To your surprise though, Bakugo wraps his arms around you before your heels could hit the ground again when you try to pull away. 

He pulls you back in, only this time,  he made sure your lips met his. 

The kiss was fleeting because he pulled away abruptly. As if it wasn't his intention to kiss you at all. Your heart was hammering against your rib cage as you looked up at him with wide eyes and Bakugo stared back at you completely dazed.

He blinks, breathing is as ragged as yours. Realization hitting him hard.

"Shit, Y/n." He swallows hard and wet his lips. He then threads his fingers through your hair and admits, 

"I think I fucking love you." 

The shifting community has gotten so boringgggg.
