In the same avalanche that killed he and Hickory’s mother, he nearly lost his life as well! Fun fact, Hickory and their father (who I like to think was named “Doc”), have cloven goat hooves, and were able to navigate the mountain terrain better versus Dickory and their mother (who I like to think was named “Mouse”), have thicker horse hooves, and struggle a bit more. So when the avalanche came, they didn’t escape it in time.

Dickory was not only trapped under the snow, but his right arm was crushed by a rock. His Dad managed to dig him out, but his arm was beyond saving. So he kinda… Cut it off. But now he has a sick crossbow arm so… Cool! It also shoots nets/rope to trap people!

I can’t say really, bc it’ll be MASSIVE spoilers for Movie Three, BUT I really like the backstory I came up with for him, so I’m super hype!

But yeah, the movie literally gives us NOTHING. Like where was this man? How did he get captured? EVERYONE ELSE GETS A DRAMATIC BACKSTORY EXCEPT HIM!!!😭

I haven't been reading the last few 6 or 7(?) chapters of Great Decisions cause I want to read the rest of the movie 2 in one go cause I know otherwise I'd be going insane for each new update but last night I actually dreamed about your JD the story and how it might continue. So I guess it's been a lot more on my mind than I thought 🤔😂

Ooooo I hope it was a good dream! Little fun fact unrelated to “Great Decisions”, but related to my other fanfics, I actually dreamed “John Dory’s Quick and Concise Guide on How To Survive” before I wrote it!

I dreamed I was in a library, and saw a book titled just that on display, and I was like, omg, that looks so good, I can’t wait to read it! And then… I woke up. And I was SO disappointed, like dammit, I was really looking forward to seeing what it was! Then I was like… I could just make it myself. So at about 3am, I wrote down that title in my notes app, and the story was born.

Wild, right?

I just wanted to ask, what did the Funk Trolls think of the pop trolls before Cooper showed up? Also can you tell us a bit more about Cooper's reunion with his family? ( I'm just guessing that Queen Essence is the blood heir while King Quincy is more like King Consort Quincy.)

ABSOLUTELY I CAN!!!

So, the Funk Trolls keep mostly to themselves, like the other troll tribes. But they took it even a step further by building their ship, which like Queen Essence says, sorta keeps them “above it all”. Because of infighting, disagreements, and overall intolerance that grew between the tribes due to their isolation from each other, the Funk Trolls ultimately decided to build this place to escape it all. Due to this, they’re hardly ever seen by the other troll tribes, thus Hickory calling them “elusive”. But I will say they teach peace and harmony on their ship, and they aren’t as intolerant of other trolls as say, some of the Country Trolls.

They do have a good idea as to what’s going on, however, checking in on the other tribes every so often by chatting with sub-genre trolls who pass through their territory.

As to what they thought of Pop… They didn’t. The Pop Trolls going missing had become almost a Trolling’s tale amongst most Troll Tribes. Nobody really knew what happened to them, but at the same time… Nobody looked. Pop Trolls were thought to be greedy, sneaky, and a bit air-headed, and the fear was if they found the other tribes, they’d just steal their music again. So nobody went to find them.

Truth be told, if Cooper hadn’t reunited with his family BEFORE they spotted Poppy and them on the raft… They likely never would have found the Funk Trolls, because the Funk Trolls simply wouldn’t have interacted with them. But Cooper’s reunion and subsequent detailing of how the Pop Trolls saved and raised him, a Troll different from their own tribe, despite their own hardships at the time (maybe a year after they escaped from the Troll Tree), changed their hearts.

Their reunion was very heartfelt. It was Prince D who spotted his brother standing dazed in the Glittersand Desert, and made his parents land. And they were absolutely elated. Cooper and his father have very similar types of humor, immediately cracking jokes, and Queen Essence could not stop smooching him! Prince D was already planning out some twin pranks they could pull…

Cooper explained everything in the way Cooper would: Dramatically, and with a big smile on his face! His parents were horrified to say the least when they heard where Pop had been all this time. Queen Essence (who you’re right, is the blood Queen), was already considering going against her ancestor’s laws that preach staying out of other troll’s affairs, and going to find the Pop Trolls to help them, when Cooper spotted Poppy on the raft with Prince D.

All super fun stuff that I could not for the life of me try to find a way to tie into the story, so I’m SO glad you asked! Seriously, I got a whole WORLD in my head, it’s crazy in here!

One thing I think about a lot with the Trollz movie lore (and its fanfictions by default.) is laws and troll 'personhood'. Clearly most societies in Trollz seems to be un-united monarchies (Save for maybe Vacay Island and Mount Rageous.) which means their laws and jurisdiction don't extent past their boarders. This explains why Bergens were able to not grant the Trolls personhood and could do as they pleased with them but the Vacaytioners and Mount Rageons 'seemingly' do have laws to protect trolls. MY question to you is, when Bruce told Brandi what happened to him, do you think he and Brandi tried to do something about it? Tell Vacaytioner goverment maybe? I dunno if I'm wording this right, it kinds word soup! Just want your thoughts on this!

Personally, I think Trolls are treated as “second-class” citizens by pretty much all of the species that are bigger than them, like they’re not really people.

With the Bergens, that of course changed when the truce came about, and Bruce and Brandy were the forerunners of Trolls being treated equally by the Vacaytioners (Who i like to think hadn’t even SEEN a troll before him, except maybe a techno troll in passing). With the Mt. Rageons, the thoughts are kinda the same, that trolls are just kinda fun, cute little creatures, but they’re not really PEOPLE. After the events of movie three, I think Poppy was the forefront on the movement that trolls were people too!

As for Bruce and Brandy, and what they did after Bruce spilled the beans about what the Bergens did, I like to think Brandy did bring it up to some of the Vacaytioners without Bruce knowing. I don’t really think those guys have a government, they’re just more of a commune. They kind of dismissed her (she was still pretty young at the time), and their response was pretty much along the lines of “We can’t force another group of people to change”, and didn’t do much about it.

But Brandy is fiercely protective of Bruce, and made a lot of accommodations for him in her family’s restaurant, and will call out ANYONE who treats him as lesser. (He tells her it’s not necessary, but he truly appreciates it💜🧡)
