I like the idea that the people at Ao3 text the people at tumblr before they work on maintenance or have to go down for whatever reason. Like, I imagine some intern at tumblr getting a “hey girly” email and just sighing because their user percentage is going up by 1 million percent in the next few minutes on a random Wednesday morning and there’s nothing they can do about it but try not to let the website crash.
