I’m sure it is but I can’t beat that first boss. (The one she casually murders in the first video.) I’m just not cut out for Metroid.
I think Samus has a lot of that faceless appeal but also and especially in Dread you can really tell by the way she carries herself that she is just extremely confident in herself and shows off a little beyond what's necessary. There's one cutscene moment I remember where she just casually struts around a boss while charging her gun to deliver a killing blow and it just oozes badass. Here's the clip actually
Spoilers for the end of the game but Dread also contains the one moment in the series where we see Samus lose her shit (Other M isn't real) and she doesn't cower, or cry, she just fucking yells in pure rage until her enemy is fucking dead. She overcomes a superior enemy through pure anger and willpower. It's the best.
As if I didn't already love Samus. Dread did so right by her.

Same thing goes for Soundwave in a way. He’s a bit more stable between continuities, and he’s always Megatron’s most loyal follower, but he’s got a lot of different interpretations of that role, whether that be the fun dad to a bunch of mini bots, a silent spymaster who watches even the other cons, or whatever the Bay movies did with the concept.
There were a couple of times when lost the plot a bit, (See Unicron Trilogy and TF Animated) but overall he’s explored a number of different personalities while maintaining the same general idea.
Okay so, something I just realized: Megatron might just be THE most versatile character in the Transformers mythos.
Think about it, he can be a pure evil dictator, a tragic anti-villain, an anti-hero, a revolutionary who lost his way, the face of the system, a random thug who stumbled upon some dangerous resources, or a cool uncle figure.
Seriously, it's interesting how many roles he can fill WITHOUT straying from his original archetype.
