Iām sure you get this question a lot, but what are your best tips to starting your own tumblr self care diary ? š
This is actually the first time I've ever got asked this! I can think of a few tips that I kept in mind when I created this blog.
Be authentic. For me, I use this as a safe space to be myself without fear of judgment. And I find it helps me to be honest and open and true to who I am, as it's even helped me to become more confident in my actual life!
Be mindful of your online presence. It depends on the level of anonymity you want, but i try to be mindful of making my identity known. it's the anonymous aspect that's helped me feel more comfortable being my true self.
Be comfortable. Only post content that you are comfortable with sharing and that makes you happy. I have no problem using aestheic pinterest photos, and keeping a theme because it makes me happy and I feel comfortable posting my life with limited details.
Have fun with it! For me, my blog is a form of self expression and I love the way I've curated the aesthetics of my blog to match my interests. I tend to dress a little edgier in person, and I'm an aspiring gym girly, but I love makeup and shopping and kpop and anime. I'm a very multifaceted person and I enjoy sharing those bits of myself online.
Remember this is for you. Don't feel bad for not getting as many likes or reboots or comments because this is for you. When I decided to start my blog as it is now, I had 7 followers. But I didn't care because this was something for me. And now I have over 1200 followers, and im so grateful for this community. This is a safe space I helped create for myself, and I'm just so happy I made the decision to start posting. I appreciate everyone who interacts with my content and who supports and encourages me. It always makes my day, but I never forget that this blog is an extension of myself.

I haven't posted challenge updates in a few days and it's because I've been preparing for the hotel with my boyfriend who will be here tomorrow. I am putting a pause on this challenge til January 2nd. I will resume updates then.

Daily Check-in: July 26th, 2024 š
I did not have the greatest Friday. My workouts caused me some pain and frustration, I was so so tired, and I ended up getting late night eats with my roommate again. I also stressed about finances so hard that i couldn't fall asleep, and once I fell asleep, I kept waking up. Good times.
š©· What I Accomplished
26 min of a lower body workout (did not enjoy and cut it early cause it was not it for me)
worked an 8.5 hour shift
left work at 2:59 and caught the bus at 3:03 (I ran to catch that bus omg)
wrote down korean vocabulary to study
figured out when to schedule my next italki lessons (just don't have the money to schedule them yet)
canceled a couple of subscriptions that aren't necessities given my financial situation
drank my electrolytes and felt better before my workout
š What Could've Gone Better
ate too much and too late at night
the workout was not fun, almost caused me to hurt my lower back, and made me nearly black out in the shower. I had to text my coach about switching up that workout as well as my split cause I was not having a good time with it
didn't take my night medication because I felt so full and stuffed after eating late
stressed so bad about my financial situation that I almost started crying. it's rough out here for me, money wise.
didn't get to video call my boyfriend before bed because it got too late
š Stuff For Saturday (July 27th)

do not workout, let my body rest
maybe do some light stretching or walk on the treadmill tho

I love face masks and eye masks! My current favorite face mask is the Red Bean Pore Refreshing Face Mask by Beauty of Joseon and my favorite eye masks are The Creme Shop Work Hard Rest Hard eye masks!
š©· Body Care
body scrubs/body butters! I love using two similar scents together! For the summer, I use Tree Hurt Tropic Glow scrub and body butter and for winter I use Dove Exfoliating Scrub in Brown Sugar and the EOS Vanilla Cahsmete Lotion.
š©· Hair Care
No specific product recommendations for this, but I love oiling my scalp twice a week! It makes my hair feel and look so beautiful! I currently use The Ordinary Moroccan Argan Oil and I use a scalp massager to gently massage the oil onto my scalp after applying it with warm fingers.
Hair Masks!!! I love the Shea Mositure Raw Shea Butter Hydration Mask so much, I use it with conditioner on my hair oiling days and my hair has never looked better.

I love the Essence Tinted Brow Gel because even if I don't do much makeup, it makes me feel and look a little more put together.
Same goes for the Ulta Beauty Gel Eyeliner in Dark Brown, it makes me look and feel so much better some days, and it's not super bold like liquid liner so I don't feel the need to use Mascara.
Lip Oils!!! Milani Fruit Fetish and Elf Revive are my two favorites!! I have Milani In Cherry Lime and Elf in Jam Session. So moisturizing and a bit tinted so it makes me feel so good when I have it on. Even when I wear a bare face, I always use one of these to elevate my look!
š©· Miscellaneous
Vitamin/Mineral supplements! I only take ones I know will work for me or ones I'm deficient in. I currently take Vitamin D3 and Aple Cider Vinegar supplements but I am looking into taking Magnesium Gylcinate and Ashwagandha soon as well!
Self care hobbies and routines! My gentle morning routine, journaling, yoga, a wind down night routine, and reading informative books has been so helpful for me!
I'm personally looking for hair growth tips and tools (like the efficiency of silk hair wraps or silk pillow cases, hair growth oils and supplements, etc), any and all skincare tips and tools (like ice face rollers, are gua sha effective, etc), and even body care products recommendations as well!!

Sunday was wayyyy more productive than I had initially planned, and I still had taken a nap! I love those kinds of days so much!
What I Accomplished āļø
worked a ~7hour shift (on a station I have never run before for a full shift, and dare I say I did wonderfully) š

completed and aubmitted my 2 pre lab assignments for chem
completed and submitted my weekly quiz for chem (got a 16/20, so I only missed 2 questions)

didn't study japanese but am definitely going to create a consistent study routine now that I found a teacher I like on italki for Japanese
need to fill out my planner for the month cause I have so much that I forgot to put in there
I took the "second skin" off my tattoo cause it was kinda gross and dang it does my tattoo itch. I know that means it's healing but ughhhh, I hate the itching
I forgot to get my Netflix subscription back. my boyfriend and I are starting weekly video call date nights (so like watching a movie or TV show together over video call) and Netflix is the easiest so I gots to get it again
need to rewrite my budget to hopefully fit monthly payments for a Mac into my budget
on that note, need to research what MacBook I want to purchase when I get paid next because I think it'd be more beneficial to use for school instead of my current chromebook (especially since I have an Ipad)
gotta make time to do some adulting tasks this week

Tuesday was so so so so soooooo tiring omg. It's Wednesday and I'm still recovering from how exhausting Tuesday was. It was a good day, but geesh I'm so happy I'll have time off from school and work soon.

There was some good yesterday, and definitely some bad. One of my favorite supervisors said he's quitting at the end of this semester (3 days), and I'm so sad because he was genuinely good at his job but I understand that his bosses weren't the best and the management at our job is overall crappy most times. But hopefully, my other favorite supervisor doesn't quit tho i know she feels the same, too. There's a reason I'm getting a 2nd job right now.
