Fordite, also known as Detroit agate, is old automobile paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It was formed from the built up of layers of enamel paint slag on tracks and skids on which cars were hand spray-painted (a now automated process), which have been baked numerous times.

Did you know many regular sidewalks can have body or trace fossils on them? Here I show you a sidewalk in southern Brazil (Dois Irmãos-RS) with marine invertebrate displacement trace fossils. These rocks are from the Late Carboniferous Rio do Sul Formation (Paraná Basin). Your strolls in town will never be the same now!

The Allende Meteorite is the largest of its kind ever found on Earth. It is often referred to as the most widely studied meteorite in history. The fall of this meteorite was viewed in Chihuahua, Mexico in the early hours of February 8th, 1969.
