I Think Its Hilarious How Chief Is Never Baffled Or Shocked By Anything He Just Goes Through The Motions

i think its hilarious how chief is never baffled or shocked by anything he just goes through the motions with such grace but its comical. which makes what actually disturbs him so much more important to analyze... like hes been held by a gravemind ( to non halo fans its a parasite thats become so large and consumed so much its become sentient with the knowledge of those its infected . looks horrific ) no reaction. he jumps through a space battle between massive ships. no reaction. hes TOLD HE WAS FATED TO EXIST FOR HIS VERY PURPOSE by a literal entity that predates humans...NO reaction to the fact he was planned 1000s of life times ago. but when cortana is at risk. or he sees reach's glassing/destruction... the way he stares and gets stuck over these things... its interesting since its not normally like him to be caught up. very rarely do things override his purely efficient mind. a mind made to be the perfect soldier. halsey's magnum opus. trained to sacrifice it all for a success. so when he does... behave differently in his own subtle way it can be read as such a strong reaction for a man thats normally extremely muted or apathetic.

I decided to reread the preview chapters of Outcasts again for nostalgia reasons and I remembered an important reason why I liked the Thel-‘Ayomuu dynamic: the amount of sass energy that gets generated between them could power a planet.

“If you want my help, you will have to be more forthcoming. And if you expect to leave Vadam Keep alive, you will waste no more of my time.”

“I will reveal as much as I am permitted to. If that is a waste of your time…” ‘Ayomuu spread his hands. “You are welcome to try, but I will be leaving Vadam Keep in a manner of my own choosing.”

‘Vadam’s only reply was to drop his gaze to ‘Ayomuu’s weaponless belt.

‘Ayomuu’s eyes glimmered in amusement for an instant, then he said…

Like bro. Thel really just giving him the silent look down his belt. I can see it in my head and it’s hilarious. And this is only Chapter 2. This is only their first scene together.
