I did mermay one year! Everything was made with inks and colored pencils, but it was before i'd actually figured out how to best use colored pencils. I used a promptlist from instagram that i liked the look of and posted all the illustrations to my instagram (which is very dead nowadays. i only still have the app installed so loki can send me reels and stuff) I'd improved a lot by the end of it, but i often ended up missing/delaying days and i was being buried under homework while i did it Mermaids are one of my go-to subject matters for sketches, so its kinda strange i haven't really posted any here before.

I started playing Final Fantasy 14 a week ago, here's some scribbles I made of my character Rosliet starting her adventure :D (+ a screenshot of her in game for referene)

Since then she's become a level 30 Arcanist, carbuncle is her best friend

I've had a lot of thoughts about Rosliet since I made her, at some point I want to do a more polished drawing of her and talk more about what I've come up with for her character ^^

Art requests are open! Probably forever but who knows, I haven't gotten many before.

Most important thing to keep in mind is that I'm not promising to do all requests I get, I'm viewing them all as gentle suggestions/prompts! It's a way for me to be more social, and I like drawing stuff for others. But I'm going to do my absolute best to not stress myself out about it!

You can suggest palettes! I love working in limited palettes for pixel art and I think taking palette suggestions would be fun :D

Also feel free to suggest outfits, hairstyles, and headcanon things!

You can suggest medium but I'll go with whatever's easiest/most fun for me to work in at the time

You can also suggest ideas for animations and comics, just keep in mind that those are high effort so I'll need more time and energy to make them 👍

Why did I decide to draw complicated mechanical structure. Look at all these details! I mean it was a great challenge and I'm very proud of the result, but it also melted my brain!! And it was so hard to get good reference images

the process was pencil sketch -> pen lines -> digital coloring (ibis paint on my phone)

The coloring took almost 3 hours, and the line art probably took longer than that but I wasn't paying attention

This one's kinda rough, but I've thought for a while that the floating outfit would be a great fit for June (blue & gold, floaty, even has a little bit of a rabbit motif!), and I wanted to draw her in it for the special occasion ^^
