โLoveโs about finding the one person who makes your heart complete. Who makes you a better person than you ever dreamed you could be. Its about looking in the eyes of your wife and knowing all the way to your bones that sheโs simply the best person youโve ever known.โ

Very sweet.
So my rp blog keeps messing with my format and I canโt reblog anything from it. I thought Iโd post it here so it isnโt a headache to read. I headcanon that Marston baby died as a toddler right before the events of rdr 1. Thatโs why sheโs older here. Thereโs no talk about that though! Also - fun fact. Crayons and Teddy Bears were recent new toys! Finally, Jackย canonicallyย talks aboutย โdumpingโ his parents on multiple occasions. This is when most people moved to the cities. John and Abigail talk about how theyโre anxious about the farm and retirement. Anyway. Here it is. Originally posted to @johntheirritatedgunslinger my rp blog. Send me questions, ideas, hcs about a happy and alive Marston baby and Iโll write it! I have a weakness for John being a good father.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ John rocked the sleeping bundle lying against his chest. Her dark curls moving shifting as he breathed. โ I donโt think I do,โ John answered earnestly.
โAbigail and I donโt often argue anymore, but this is one of the few things we do argue about. She says Iโm not soft enough towards the boy. Showing him enough love and all that. Sheโs wrong. I try. I really do. Jack hasnโt wanted anything to do with me since he was around seven. All the stress of us moving around. Me trying but constantly failing to build a better home. Abigailโs frustration bleeding on to him. Iโm not saying she turned him against me - but he always takes her side. Like the incident at Pronghorn. We would have been homeless if I didnโt step in.
What kind of father would I be then? I was damned no matter what I did. Heโs fifteen now. He doesnโt want to be held - heโs far too old anyway. He doesnโt want to play cards. Or fish. Or hunt. Or shoot. He just wants to read.
Then he complains I donโt do anything - yet Iโm offerinโ all the time. He tells me he hates me sometimes. Yeah, I know. Heโs a teen, but I kind of gave up. Iโm the bad guy, no matter what I do.โ
He looked down at his three old daughters and smiled. โThis one, though? She loves me. Her eyes light up when she sees me. She loves being held. I donโt buy her extra toys. She likes to color, so Iโll occasionally bring her extra paper. We bought her a teddy bear not long ago for her birthday. But we donโt really do much more than that. We donโt have the money.
She likes to follow me around the ranch. Abigail likes to call her Duckie because she follows me around like one. But she does chores. Theyโre easy ones like dumping feed for the animals or helping with the water. Iโm always with her anyway. Jack didnโt do any chores until he was eleven. Every time I tried to get him to do something - Abigail said he needed to study or that sheโd handle it. Let a kid be a kid. Itโs different with Amelia. I donโt know why. I guess Abigail doesnโt want her becoming entitled.โ he said with a laugh. He loved Abigail. He loved Jack - but sometimes, there was some hypocrisy.
โAlright. You caught me. Sometimes I sneak her cheese. Itโs her favorite food. Sometimes, when Abigail goes out of town with Jack, I let her sleep in our bed. โ ย John shrugged.
โSheโs three. Is there anything so wrong about that? I love her. I feel like Iโve done something right with her. Sheโs my chance for redemption. Iโm not super religious, but God gave her to me. He gave me Jack. Iโm doing what I can with him, but I was there from the very beginning with this one.โ He said fondly as he booped her nose.
โIโd do anything for her. For Jack. For Abigail. But one day, it hurts me to think that she wonโt want to sit on my lap anymore. She wonโt ask Papa to come to help her. In the blink of an eye, sheโll be married. Have children of her own. Maybe sheโll take over the farm! She likes animals. ย Jack has already talked about how he canโt wait to go to college and leave us. It is what it is.โ He said with a sigh.
โMaybe Abigail is right. She has my heart wrapped around her little finger. If anything. Anything. Ever happened to her. You bet thereโs hell to pay.โ He said severely, suddenly feeling out of breath. Amelia yawned and scooched up to his chin. โHi, Papa.โ she whispered sleepily. โHey, Darlinโ,โ John whispered back. He gave her a kiss on the cheek. โThatโs scruffy, Papa!โ she squealed. John laughed. โ I think itโs time we put you to bed. I hope that answers your question. Goodnight!โ John said, tipping his head. โBye! โ the little night-gowned girl waved.
Narcissa: When I was having Draco, Lucius showed up to the hospital in a suit because โfirst impressions matterโ.
No, but we were all shaking when ryle said "where did you get that magnet lily?".
Does the queen have an illness that the king said of her condition? I hope it's not that bad..
โI suppose itโs a good thing both my parents died young. Prevented further foolish choices.โ
