Bill Cipher: Into the Cipherverse

I just had this conversation with my brother:

Me: we should probably do Mabel & Dipper cosplay... or Stan and Ford... we probably match them

Him: we match the /reverse falls/ twins.

I personally think that Bill was, actually, born slightly three-dimensional, even if he was thin as fuck, he would be 3D.

WHAT I LOVED IT

While I keep working on the design for the Cipher twins AU here's some more things i thought to add!

They both have Ford's 6 fingers hands, since they're mostly made of his genetic material it was a high probsbilty that it'd be passed down.

I'm not sure about Canon but in this au the twins are partially responsible for their parents divorce, not for a fault of their own but because their parents think they're too freaky and contributed greatly to the cracks already existing in their marriage. So they've been sent to who they think is their actual father/creator, not knowing its Stanley.

They have shared dreams/dreamscape (this is actually inspired by real life because when me and my brother slept in the same room as kids we'd sometimes have conjoined dreams? It's a story for another time anyways) plus the fact that Bill is technically on of their fathers means they can always lucid dream and have a pretty good control on their dreams. They have their own separate dream areas, almost like they "split" their rooms, especially as they grew. This is to give eachother privacy in their dreams and also because their tastes in dreams are vastly different.

They can talk telepathically, being linked through the dreamscape has their consciousnesses closely linked. They keep it as radio sort of situation, as neither is keen to look in the other's thoughts. It could be a completely open channel. It used to be when they were younger, which greatly contributed to their freakishness as they used to talk together, as if they were one being.

Dipper and Mabel have personalities that stick pretty close to canon, with Dipper taking more after Ford and Mabel after Stan. Tho as they're Ford's kids I'd say they've both inherited his genius in different ways, Dipper is smart and logical, a bit too calculating and probably on the spectrum. He likes to study things because he wants to know more and likes feeling in control. He has a quick mind, good for puzzles, equations and observation. Very fast learner. Mabel is creative and a tinkerer, while she still loves to make sweaters (and bedazzled eyepatches) her inventiveness is cranked up. She's made some pretty complex sweaters, some that could light up, so it's not even too much of a reach. She likes to make useful machines to help around the house, and while they do work, they're usually weird looking and usually made for unnecessary tasks: like glitter dispensers, disco toilets, rainbow colored shower water etc.. although she's good at making things on request, like Stan's beloved automatic backscratcher.

Stan started wearing the eyepatch as his Man of Mystery persona to make the kids feel more welcomed. He says that it's so they can sell the while "Mystery Family" deal and make more money but he always thinks of his brother and how it was for him as a child to be a "freak"

Dipper's constellation glows when he's sleeping.

The twins don't know they're not completely human. They just think they've inherited the "Family weirdness" that they've heard about.

They still think Stan is their Grunkle. Things start to click after they first meet Bill. They have an easier time in this Au, since they're used to their own dreamscape, they're much more of a threat to Bill, who retreats after he realises just what the twins are.

Their realisation about Bill is complex, along the lines of "We're connected but I don't know how."

They have heavily suspected that the author is related to them since the first season because what are the chances of a 6 fingers handprint on a diary.

When they meet Ford they're like "oh ok- Stan has a twin? So we have two great uncles, makes sense, we must have the 6 fingers mutation in our genetic makeup, a family thing. He's our dad. He's our dad???"

Granda and Candy are still awesome best friends and they never make Mabel feel bad for being different. To them, she's just as weird as they are.

Dipper doesn't have a crush on Wendy. He thinks he does, because he has no experience with this sort of things, but it's actually a mix of admiration and envy, he'd like to be more like her.

I Have BillFord AU ideas that are too elaborate for my hands to keep up with so let me yap (there will be drawings later)

OKAY, so I basically wanted an excuse to make my human Bill art make sense so here ya go:

As it was brought up in the book of bill (spoilers ig) the teens in gravity falls are really into Bill worship after Weirdmaggeddon so what if Bill took advantage of that after he leaves (or more likely escapes) inter dimensional rehab. He somehow communicates with the teens and they help him perform some ritual (using some spare corpses, don’t ask me where they come from) that lets him make his own human form. It’s half dead, half alive, but enough for him to re-enter Gravity Falls once again. Yadda yadda, Ford investigated the teens beforehand but comes in too late and Bill is back….HOWEVER, this human/corpse/flesh golem thing is imperfect, he can’t use too much of his powers or else that crack he had in his triangle form starts affecting his human form. He also finds out that he can’t leave the human shell, effectively trapping him. Ford takes advantage of that a BOOM BABY ROLE REVERSAL. Bill’s basically at Ford’s mercy until he finds a way out or until he kills everybody.

BBBBBUT I think it would be more fun to give Bill some sort of a redemption arc, if that’s even possible.

Could be a fun lil thing to play with so if any fanfic authors stumble upon this have fun.

oh my god i feel like an idiot for the last ask.. ok anyways i love you bill pines au so so much and i was also wondering how stanley was during the time ford was in the portal, since he was getting postcards and everything. like, did the twins ever see one of the cards and think “huh, what the fuck?”

Stanley has been lived on that shack since the potral accident , bill encourage ford to reconcile with him even tho he personaly dislike the idea. They actually invited Stanley to travelling with them too (maybe only ford) , Stan only follow once and notice he the third wheel 😭 and he decided he doesn't want to following them anymore. But because he doesn't have anything to do he started the mystery shack (when Bill and ford back they kinda mad but understanding the reason )

Ford and Stan wearing a digital watch that they use to send signal to each other , like give Stan hint they having troubles goin back so Stan have to open the potral. The post card is for Stan knew their adventure and sharing photo of each dimension and no the twins never see it cuz Stan Alway put it on his album

For the Twins , funny thing is they didn't meet Bill and Ford until in the middle of the summer , cuz Bill and ford having difficulty to came back. Dipper found one of the Journal hidden inside the shack , and because there's many locked room, and Stan rarely said anything about Bill and ford but only by hint, Dipper Thought that Stan is the author but Stan deny it and say the book is fiction that he "borrow" on the supermarket . Of course dipper didn't buy it and still believe His grunkle Stan is the secret author

Gang, I've ordered both Journal 3 and the book of Bill, and both will apparently be here from 3 to 6 weeks. But either way, it's on the way!

I also have started drafting out my fanfic and rewatching Gravity falls while waiting for AO3 to get back to me with an account invitation since I haven't made one lmao.

Either way, it's coming. I'm writing the fic slowly.

Wanna know a super fun headcanon? Grunkle Bill au. No no, hear me out.

Imagine this...Bill gets let out of the super secret multiverse space prison after millions of years of therapy due to his 'good behaviour.' The first thing to do on his list...is making amends.

He does so. How? By going back to Gravity Falls (time is weird don't worry about it) and begging Stan to give him a job at the Mystery Shack so he can 'do as the mortals do.' (That's what he says, but really he just wants to be around Ford.)

Anyways, no one likes this. No one. But Bill has a proper therapy graduation certificate (he frames it and puts it on the wall) and he seems to be doing better sooo 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, the rest of that summer is spent with an agonising angsty hurt/comfort second chance Billford slow burn, Dipper being completely suspicious of Bill, Mabel being the same way but also in eternal agony over whether she can hate Bill and ship Billford at the same time, and Stan finding increasingly hilarious ways to give Bill the shovel talk (featuring an actual shovel).

Also, as a bonus, imagine Shermie moving to Gravity Falls for his retirement cuz fuck it the brother he thought was dead was actually pretending to be the other one and the real Stanford is now suddenly back and he really wants to get to know his family okay???

(Also, the idea of the Pines brothers running the Mystery Shack while Bill is just dunked on all day during his redemption™ arc is just too good to pass up)
