This one time I tripped

My players once spent thirty minutes trying to get answers out of a giant talking rock in the middle of nowhere.

I eventually had to tell them, “No, the rock doesn’t know anything. No, it can’t count. It barely understands you. No, it can’t point you in the direction you need to go, it’s a rock.”

We spent 25 minutes trying to solve a puzzle to open a door, only to find out the there was no puzzle and the door wasn’t even locked.
