For some reason, I'm impressed to see how widely the ages of Tumblr users vary, but it's awesome! And this advice is probably all excellent (I can't really say anything because I haven't even graduated school yet) so yeah
I turn 30 next month so here’s what I learned in my 20s:
—don’t work for startups, they’re always one ‘innovative idea’ away adding ‘sell your kidneys on the black market’ to your job description.
—keeping a collection of basic OTC medicine on you will save your life one day. I recommend Advil, Imodium, and TUMS.
—those little single-use glasses cleaning wipes are 1000% worth the money
—overly self-depreciating jokes just make people uncomfortable, wean yourself off of them
—you can buy dehydrated mini marshmallows in bulk online and they’re a godsend for hot cocoa
—people don’t care if you have fidget toys on your desk they just want to play with them
—try to go to bed BEFORE the existential ennui kicks in
Just had some fun imagining what evolution would do to a night fury in a hidden world
made in honor of the now-extinct population of Falasteen crocodiles, the sunbirds that almost lost their names, and everyone else surviving the attempted erasure.
posted the other week as part of an ongoing fundraiser offering free prints and paid, with 100% of proceeds going to Care for Gaza. it has since been translated, wheatpasted, and flown on kites all over the world from Saigon to Scotland...!!!
monetary donations are never a substitute for holistic political action, and a push for a different world... but the shows of solidarity and support have lifted my spirits so much.
this is now available on a t-shirt too, screenprinted by hand in Texas!same deal: all profits go to food, medicine, and other critical supplies via Care for Gaza (& the PCRF). thank you for sharing.

Overview of some topics when it comes to drawing characters who are burn survivors.
DISCLAIMER. Please keep in mind that this is an introductory overview for drawing some burn scars and has a lot of generalizations in it, so not every “X is Z” statement will be true for Actual People. I'm calling this introductory because I hope to get people to actually do their own research before drawing disabled & visibly different characters rather than just making stuff up. Think of it as a starting point and take it with a grain of salt (especially if you have a very different art style from mine).
Talking about research and learning... don't make your burn survivor characters evil. Burn survivors are normal people and don't deserve to be constantly portrayed in such a way.
edit: apparently tum "queerest place on the internet" blr hates disabled people so much that this post got automatically filtered. cool!
sob thank you @smewduck
I don't get compliments/feedback as unhinged as this very much lmao but I'm very happy someone noticed the animals, they're my favourite part of the ref
Woo new Cosi ref!! Finally!
You Tumblians haven't seen Cat Cosi yet, I don't think, but they were a cat for a long time, and then they changed just before I made this. But I didn't have a ref yet, so I made this. And I like it a lot. The fullbody looks good, and I'm proud of the background. I didn't want to highlight the notes with regular squares, because that's boring, so I added some little flourishes to all of them. It helps with the vibes. I wanted it to have the same feeling as a pine forest? Or at least, the taiga in Minecraft. And the swatches are alive!! They're a blue-tongued lizard, Cape Barren goose, kangaroo, koala, and quoll. And a leaf.
I've been working on this on and off for the last four days, so a lot of the original thoughts I had have died by now. I wanted to change the markings and colours more, but everything I tried looked bad, and I didn't really have any problems with the original anyway, so I just kept it.
Reblogs appreciated :D I worked really hard on this lol
I reblog things here. Main blog is Aposterous (I post art there)
