ONCE a beloved mortal Crown Prince, Xie Lian ascended to godhood at the age of seventeen. However, due to an unfortunate series of incidents, he is soon banished back to the mortal realm. Once he falls from grace, the faith and loyalty of his believers also falls with him. Years later, he tries to return to Heaven for the second time, only to be banished again shortly after.

Xie Lian ascends again eight hundred years later, now known as the Scrap-Collecting God and laughingstock in all Three Realms, with no believers or temples. Along the way, he crosses paths with Hua Cheng, a mysterious Ghost King who is feared by Heaven. Together they join forces in solving strings of strange events as the truth of Xie Lian's past begin to unravel.
