this is for my chapter 5 au... I tried to compose a toxic doomed yaoi saiouma essay in the tags just now but it went over the tag limit (mortifying) so I'm just going to paste it under the cut!!

#look.. in my mind there is no world where shuichi truly comes around on kokichi #but there is TOTALLY a world where he feels eternally fucked up and guilty about assisting in his suicide #and cant bring himself to hate anymore #cant bring himself to reject the casual but blatantly self-indulgent touches of the boy hes about to murder in the most excruciating way possible #just let him have his fun #let him squeeze your shoulder a little too long #its the least you can do when hes about to let his entire body be turned into an unrecognizable puddle of gore #you dont have to pretend you like it. he KNOWS you dont like it. just let it happen & soon enough itll be over and youll never have to see him again #youll never be *able* to see him again. nothing left of him to even call a body #fucking unidentifiable #god. #(to be clear i dont approve of that logic at all but i sure think shuichi would feel that way)

#its like oumota but worse because (to me) shuu has completely written him off by ch5 and doesnt even need the poison blackmailing to agree #its shuichis low point after all hes fully suicidal and thinks kokichi is the mastermind who destroyed humanity's last hope #he doesnt have time to recalculate his opinion before its too late #he agrees almost immediately #but the closer it gets the less he can justify it #like god this guy fills me with rage and we would never ever in a million years get along but hes also a warm breathing human being #and hes in love with me or something and i just agreed to kill him. EAGERLY! #to his FUCKING FACE #yes i openly hated him already. and yes he didnt even blink when i told him i could kill him #if anything he looked happy! #but god how could i just say that to someone? how did it get this bad? #and how is he still giving me finger hearts through the camera while we test out angles for his fucking DEATH VIDEO #maybe just maybe its because he really thinks this will save us. but maybe he just wants to die #and i dont even know if that makes a difference anymore #et cetera……..

#meeting the same fate as kaede because he THOUGHT he was agreeing to kill the mastermind #when in reality it was really just a cagey guy who was trying to do the EXACT same thing and made the mistake of going it alone #and now that guy who couldve been his ally is dead and he has to pretend hes ok and lie to his friends to derail this trial #for this stupid idiotic plan he let himself get blindly swept up in #that was never going to work in the first place #he knew it was full of holes he knew ouma was full of shit #he knew himself he knew he'd buckle under the pressure of the trial #but he didnt say a thing #it was so much easier to go with it. he just wanted it to be fucking over with #well its not over. the game continues and kokichi is dead and for what #didnt lift a fucking finger #fucking idiot coward bottom of the barrel piece of shit. GOD #i dont know man. it's just real kill yourself hours for shuichi after this one

I will always stand by the fact that Kaito did the right thing at the end of the 5th Trial.

Shuichi's lie wouldn't just "have a low chance of succeeding", it wouldn't work at all. Monokuma was definitely monitoring Shuichi's every move, so he would have known if Shuichi had met Kokichi or disappeared from the cameras. Especially since the cameras literally everywhere. Literally.

Kaito did everything he could (and evеn more). He didn't "betray Kokichi", he didn't "abandon the plan at the last moment", he wasn't "forced to do something stupid for the sake of the plot". His decision was logical and justified. Shuichi would have just been digging his own and his friends' graves with that lie. Kaito realized that this was it, this was the end. The plan had completely failed and there was no way to save it. That's why he left Exisal.

It was a mistake on Shuichi's part to fully reveal and lay out the entire plan. By the time he realized that he should have played along and led everyone to a false verdict, it was already too late. There was nothing he could do.

But I'm not saying this to blame Shuichi for everything. His actions are understandable, his arc throughout the game was precisely that he learned to uncover the truth, despite all the obstacles. To reveal the killers, no matter how hard it was, no matter how much he didn't want to. Yes, he didn't realize in time that he needed to support the plan, but that was literally the opposite of what he had been learning all this time.

And another argument in Kaito's defense. He was running out of time. He had been holding on for the last few hours purely by the power of his stubbornness. However, he is not a superhuman and he cannot defeat his illness with sheer willpower. I think he felt that he had very little time left. And even if we assume that Shuichi's lie had a chance of success, it would most likely have led to long conversations, arguments and persuasion for another hour or two. And Kaito simply couldn't afford that luxury.

I feel a bit peeved every time Kaito is accused of "giving up" at the last moment. Even as a joke. Kaito did everything he could in that hopeless situation. This is the hill I will die on. Kaito did the right thing. He had no choice but to give up.

This a dark kingdom AU I made with my friend!

For those wondering Varian is saying something along the lines of: "Did you know? So many plants grow in Corona, they can be vegetarian!" In Siberian (Translation courtesy of google translate :D)

Basically the AU is that for whatever reason the Dark kingdom didn't fall and is a hidden kingdom no one knows about. The Brotherhoods job is to go out to the rest of the world just to see what's up. Once Fredrick uses it the brotherhoods main job is just to make sure the Moonstone doesn't throw a hissy fit and kill everyone.

Eugene is raised like a prince and Varian as a Brotherhood member. Eugene is very rambunctious and careless. Varian wants to start doing research on the annual "horizon lights" and is sure have something to do with the Sunflower but Edmund keeps refusing.

Then on the winter stolcice celebration Eugene manages to ruin it. In order to teach him some humility Edmund sends him on Varians research quest to Corona. Cue movie events.

All these sketches are pretty old except the rhino one. Clothing was mainly inspired by east Siberian clothing in the last one. The first few I completely forgot the reference o-o,

What do you like / dislike ?

There’s a ton of things I like about him it’s hard to choose just one.

But I really like his motifs. I feel like people (including me) are too quick to fall into his clown shoes, while a motif is that of a gamer (I couldn’t think of a better word). He’s just a guy that likes to play! His name means King Horse, two pieces on a chess board and he wears a chess board (kinda). Most of his FTE are just him playing games. And I like how it evolves to be a “player of the killing game” compared to everyone else’s forced participation.

What’s your least favorite cannon thing?

That he died.

Kidding kidding (kinda, I do feel like him living would make the themes of V3 better but that’s a rant for another day. )

It’s hard to choose a least favorite cannon thing because most of the stuff he says can be waved off as just him joshing. Idk, I guess my least favorite interpretation of his actions was that of a mercy kill during chapter 5. While it makes the most sense… it just doesn’t fit and I don’t know why.

What is a headcannon you have?

I headcannon him as Korean, idk it just always felt right.

I also headcannon him to have heightened tastebuds. There’s a line in his FTE (I think) where he says he can’t taste at all, but I think it’s a lie. He actually prefers subtle flavors, but is willing to go through a sensory overload for his image.

I also head cannon that him and DICE became friends in a mental hospital (maybe escaped it together??). That’s why they were straitjackets.
