Ok so I get it probably didn't happen or isn't possible but imagine when eclipse first went to solars universe he put a backup in solar and he never knew. because the amount of time from when eclipse left the balcony to solar appearing is not that far apart and plus if he teleported out I'm not very familiar with their teleportation but could he have teleported him back to his sleep space and had him wake up unaware of what was going on with his body.

I get that the reason they're not in the same room is because they share the same voice actor. But the angst potential of them torturing eclipse only to reveal it's not just eclipse by swapping with solar. With solar waking up in pain and confused. For him to wake up moon tearing him apart and torturing him. The amount of trauma all around especially for solar if eclipse hurt someone or did something using his body. God the guilt that would tear him apart

I’m kind of… of two minds about today’s SAMS episode.

(Warning for resigned and unhappy ranting below the cut)

The acting was spot-on—especially Moon’s hysterical laughing fit and the way Solar was trying to protect him and keep him from making rash decisions—but I don’t really like that they used Eclipse the way they did to achieve that. It seems almost… not exactly like a plot device, per say, but more of… an unnecessary upping of the stakes, I suppose? The group was already facing threats on five fronts: The constellations, Stitchwraith, Bloodmoon, Ruin’s mystery, and the Creator’s machinations.

And, sure, technically you could separate out the Creator, constellations, and Stitchwraith since their “plotlines” are more intertwined with the Lunar and Earth show and Monty and Foxy show… but considering how often Sun, Moon, and Solar get pulled into that and how Stitchwraith was technically the one who blew up the daycare, they are still fairly intertwined. So adding Eclipse in on top of all of that just feels a little… not great. Especially considering that it sort of ruins that scene he had with Solar Flare as the two of them were dying.

That isn’t to say I can’t see a few ways this could work. For example, Ruin could just be pulling another “Bloodmoon” and basically creating a new Eclipse using old SAMS footage to basically act as a smoke screen and hide whatever he is up to. He could have even used bits of Solar’s programming to do so given that it is pretty likely they were the one to knock Solar out, and there was tons of time to scan him and make blueprints after hiding the camera footage. Or Sun could be right and it could all just be a mean prank from Ruin’s end. Sure, Solar saw him on the camera footage today in the arcade, but since it was more than likely Ruin who edited the footage of Solar getting attacked, they could also very easily edit the footage to make it seem like they never left the arcade when in reality they had come over to mess with Sun and Moon. And they had plenty of time to learn how to disable the defenses and mess with the computer since they used to live in the ballpit, which is extremely close by one of the entrances to reach the computer from Moon’s room.

And it could, in theory, be the original Eclipse from when Sun first threw him out of his mind and messed up the spell and who has only just now managed to fix himself and stayed caught up on what was happening by watching the show—showing that he really did learn from his mistakes when Lunar pointed out how useful the viewers can be at information gathering. Or it could be any number of backups that Old Moon never found before Bloodmoon started being an actual nuisance that first time.

But give the show’s track record for bringing up interesting plot points and ideas only to drop them or otherwise retcon explanations… honestly, my hopes aren’t that high.

Honestly… I feel like I might want to just step away from the show for a while. At least partially—Maybe just focusing more on the gameplay side of the show more than the lore. Like. I still like the show, but I’m not really as excited as I used to be for the theorizing part, and I might be a little burnt out now.

I’m not saying I won’t be interacting with or posting about the show occasionally still, or that I won’t ever come back in full force, but…

I might just need to think about the recent developments for a while first, I guess. Maybe just focus on some other things in general anyways—It’s not like I don’t have stuff that needs attending to offline, after all.

Sorry if this leaves a sour taste in anyone’s mouth, and I’m not trying to dampen anyone else’s joy or excitement about the new developments. I just feel a bit down about the way things are going, and I needed to vent about those feelings a bit.

…I do want to emphasize again how much I loved Moon and Solar’s reaction today, though, because that was really, really excellent.

Tim in pain and grieving his fathers passing summons the ghost king

He only wants one last talk, only one

He cries when the first few tries don't work but then, finally, it works the ghost king looks young but Tim sobs through his request, ready to give up everything

And Danny? He doesn't know how to tell this grieving boy that his father didn't turn into a ghost, his soul is already fading to the place where his wife is, not because his love for her was overly strong but because his love for his son was weak

He slowly sinks down to the boy, Tim, something whispers to him

"You cannot talk to him"

Tim looks up, tears streaming down his face, he clawed at the other, choking out his question

"Because his soul left, he wanted to leave, there was no emotion strong enough to keep him as a ghost and I cannot let you talk to a soul"

Technically, Danny can, but its a self appointed rule of his not to

Tim sobs, throat raw, he chokes on his tears and doesn't fight when the king pulls him in a cold but gentle embrace

"Of course, of course he leaves me"

Danny let's the boy cry and cling to him, muttering soft words to him and holding him

Eventually his form flickers and the boy shrieks, clawing in desperation, cries of "don't leave me! I don't want to be alone" echoing through the warehouse

So Danny doesn't, he picks Tim up and takes him with him, vanishing to his ghostly realm where he would take care of the boy while he grieves

Only moments later Batman appears, only to find a book about summoning the dead king and sacrifices, he falls to the floor, realizing he has failed another robin, another son

Tim Drake gets thrown forward in time and quickly gets adopted by his evil alternate future self Pheonix and his husband Phantom. The three of them live on a space station orbiting the Earth.

The real issue is that they think he's a clone and they are babying him. He doesn't know what they will do when they find out he isn't actually a clone.

They have been more than accommodating and have let him snoop around to his hearts content, even going so far and to come up behind him while he's trying to hack into thier computer and just casually putting in the passwords for him.

That was embarrassing. How is Phantom so stealthy??? He loves his future evil self as wierd as that sounds. He showed him how to use thier wierd coffee machine and made both of them ten shot espressos.

The entire time there was spent in domestic bliss. How are either of these people villains? The room went silent when asked.

Appearently older Tim's story began when he accidentally killed a pit raged Jason in self defense. The batfam took it way worse than anyone would have thought, especially when the Lazarus Pits failed to revive him again. He was treated coldly as they grieved and tried to find comfort in his friends at the time, but not many people were available.

He stayed in different places, not wanting to head back to the manor and face his family, eventually he caught a signal from a space station that supposedly didn't exist and went to investigate.

Inside he found numerous crumpled bodies, all in white suits. All dead. The station itself looked oddly in tact despite obvious signs of a struggle. Eventually he found Phantom bleeding out on the floor, the destroyed remains of a metal muzzle were still on the ghosts face and Tim made quick work of removing it so he could speak easier.

Tim nursed Phantom back to health in the station and the ghost made the bodies disappear. Tim never learned what he did with all of them.

Over time Danny revealed what he was and who the GIW were and began answering all his questions. They chose to stay in the station and Phantom began renovating it to be more of a home than a workplace.

The real problems arose when people discovered the station and by extention, Phantom. He defended himself using his powers which caught the attention of both the Justice League and many villains.

The Justice League offered him protection and wanted him to join them, the villains wanted his power and made no effort to hide that fact. Phantom saw them as one in the same. All Danny wanted was to stay in the space station with Tim, who he already had a massive crush on. He didn't mind the swirling darkness he sensed inside of Red Robin, he had it in himself too after all.

At some point the station was under attack and Phantom killed a whole bunch of people to defend himself and his home, something the JL didn't particularly like and Batman himself offered to take him under his wing and train him to fight without killing.

That's when Tim revealed himself and stood next to Phantom, "He already has a teacher"

Things only went downhill from there.

"Oh you had a plague? Come back to us when you had a World War, brand new unconventional weapons, and a new international order."

Adult Tim learns he appearently has a time traveling, dimension hopping, clone son named Danny who keeps evading Red Hood and Damian and leading them on wild goose chases for fun.

After confirming he was not de aged and he had a solid alibi for the past four days and the blood they had managed to snag from the kid (don't ask how) showed signs of cloning shenanigans did they finally agree on what to do.

Which is why they had the kid tied up like a mummy sitting on the couch in one of Red Hoods safe houses trying to explain to this very sassy teen that they had no intentions to harm him and just wanted to keep him safe and give him a normal life.

This, however, made Danny panic and phase out of his bindings before throwing a smoke bomb on the ground and yelling, "I'M NOT GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!!!" in the same way people talk about prison before escaping.

Red Hood looked Red Robin directly in the eyes before saying, "That one is definitely yours."
