Choke. Just think about it, seriously. Think about what choking is and imagine speaking while it’s happening. That would fuckin’ hurt, man.
Hiss. Look, it’s just not possible, okay? No matter how “evil” you want your character to seem.
Snarl. Animals snarls. The Beast from Beauty and the Beast snarls. The Hulk snarls. You know who doesn’t snarl? PEOPLE WHEN THEY’RE SPEAKING.
Shriek. Come on, 99% of the time, “shriek” is not the word you want.Let’s face it: if you put an exclamation point at the end of the sentence, your reader gets the picture. Don’t bring to mind banshees and screaming toddlers.
Sneer. I’m not even going to bother explaining this one. “SNEER” ISN’T EVEN A SOUND.
Okay, like... Hot take/random thought.
So like, hi. I want to become active in this community here, so I'm just gonna start posting stuff like this.
Moving on, I've been reading a lot of fanfics and comics lately, and one thing I've noticed a lot of is Remus being envious of his brother. While yes, I agree he would be jealous of the attention Roman gets, its not for the soft reason others like to portray him as.
Remus isn't upset that Roman is seen as the "good" creativity, or that he gets major creative sway over what is done, it's that he gets more attention then him.
Remus is intrusive thoughts, so his goal is to be as nit picky with C!Thomas as he can be. He wants to have every chance to insert himself into his life, and be the spotlight! With Roman being there, it's harder to get into C!Thomas' mind with a creative view here already.
Now, moving on from that, another thing I see is people portraying Remus as deviated when Janus said his very major line to Roman:
"Thank God you don't have a mustache Roman, otherwise, between you and Remus, I wouldn't know who the evil twin is."
Now, while this would seem like it would hurt Remus, coming from possibly his best friend, it's not. He would love this comment.
Now, I get if you want to portray Remus like this in your comics, fan fics, whatever, that's great! Still will love your work, support you, and all that. I just wanna point out why he wouldn't respond that way.
Now, why would Remus like this? Because he'd see it as a compliment. Think of it, he's intrusive thoughts. He wants to bug C!Thomas any way he can, and this is an amazing way to do it. Why? It's straight up saying C!Thomas is a bad person.
That statement directly tells Thomas he's not a truly good person all over again. Yes, he got that from DWIT, but now he has been bluntly told a part of him is evil, and that only serves to make Remus stronger.
Remus gets his power from bothering Thomas, and this is his biggest step up. After a moment where he was told the truth from a side named deceit, he knows that this sentence is true. Thomas is then left with this line and must come to terms with what he is. And that's hard when your morality is already thrown into wack.
That line is one of the major stepping points in the series that I think will play a major roll in this upcoming finally. Remember, Remus said he had a big surprise coming for him.
That's all from me. And remember, this is just my opinion. You're free to think anyway you want, do what you want, I am not saying everyone has to do things this way. I'm more so saying this as a way to show people how I think. My apologies if someone has posted this, not my intention to copy them, I just haven't seen something like this and wanted to voice how I see our local rat man.
IDK who needs to hear this but (I certainly did) : A chapter is not required to be 2000-4000 words in length (or whatever 'reasonable' amount it is in your head.) A chapter ends where you feel comfortable ending it. You make your own rules!
my nephew, who is like 11 or 12, is playing “5D Chess With Multiverse Time Travel”, which is exactly what it says on the tin, and I have never been more terrified of the youth of today
hrmmm
I don’t have time to draw it right now but while driving home from the winco I saw a happy mustached man pedaling a bike, towing a cart built to look like a chariot, inside of which stood what I can only imagine was his completely expressionless 13 year old in a makeshift corinthian helmet
grand wizard and his young apprentice
