The Inevitable, The Between

The pitch black that closed in from all sides was oppressive, suffocating…the dim beam of yellowish light from the one small, old flashlight didn’t stand a chance. The smell of damp earth and rotting wood permeated the cool air as they moved deeper into the mineshaft; the silence of the place was broken only by their breathing and footsteps. Toby was certain that if they stopped walking it would be quiet enough to hear their hearts beat.

The ”cigarettes daydreams you were only 17” is such a perfect song for Toby in my opinion like he was still a kid as far as i remember by the time Everything went down Hill and his Everything is just all in all so tragic

I listened to the song. The lyrics are pretty fitting I must agree! Like watching Toby drift into isolation and madness. The boy must be so traumatized deep inside. You can say the tall man in the woods gave him happiness by making him forget his life. Ignorance is bliss lul.
