A mark on your forehead identifies the god you must worship to stay alive, usually by joining its local church or temple. Your mark is unknown, meaning an old, forgotten god sponsored you. To survive, you must either find an old temple to worship at, or do the arduous task of building a new one

You guys ever think about how sad it is that nobody will ever stumble across the ruins of things you’ve made in singleplayer?
Wait. No, I’ve been there. I’ve seen old saved worlds. Sometimes you forget what it was for or when it was built in the first place. Sometimes you forget there’s something there at all, waiting to be uncovered.
I guess the person to find it is the future you. They’re a different person by then.
I don’t know what audience I made this for, but enjoy some inspirational Hermitcraft…propaganda?? I guess??
this is such a good clip. why is he SO stressed.
createmod shenanigans. thanks to tango for having the coolest skin ever for this series.
i've drawn SO many mechanical arms (mostly because of doc lmao) but this one just slays so hard to this day. i need more steampunk hermitcraft content so i have an excuse for more gold accents.
Animal studies!
i cannot stop over-analyzing asoue netflix but guys. do you think that scene in hotel denoument when the baudelaires are trying to get everyone to leave the hotel that all of the side characters' reactions represent their fatal character flaws.
like how olaf's mentors immediately started berating him and calling him a disappointment just because they believed he didn't set the hotel on fire. so their fatal character flaw was cruelty.
and mr. poe and vice principle nero refused to take their blindfolds off, despite the situation, making their fatal character flaw their incompetence, which made them the series' definition of useless adults.
babs and jerome first tried to find a way out, but ended up panicking and staying in one place, so their fatal flaw was cowardice, the original reason neither of them were able to help the baudelaires in the first place.
with esmé and carmelita, it's a little more complicated, since olaf was able to trick esmé because of both her vengefulness and greed (which manifested in her obsession with the sugar bowl), but to some degree it was also about carmelita's stubborness and entitlement (which manifested in her choosing to stay with esmé)
and, finally, justice strauss, who attempts to stop the baudelaires from running away on the roof. i've always interpreted her fatal character flaw as naivety; she believes that all problems can be solved without breaking any rules. she trusts the system too much, which is why she couldn't ever fully understand what the baudelaires were going through, and that they really did not have a choice.
overall, this scene is so important to the story, because it's the exit of all of these characters. it's the last time we see any of them. that's why these negative character traits of theirs were put in the spotlight for this scene; even though these characteristics are flaws so fatal they literally end up being the characters' dooms, they're still aspects of the characters we need to remember in order to understand why nothing went right in the lives of the baudelaires: all of these characters were too cruel or incompetent or cowardly or greedy or arrogent or naive...to be able to help them.
so, as tragic as it is, all these characters end up dying (literally or metaphorically) because of the same flaws that made them useless to the baudelaires in the first place.

They didn't start the fire
But they've been burning
Since the game's been learning
They didn't start the fire
But they helped to light it
Really did ignite it
HE HATH RETEUNRED EVEYR9NE REJOICE
"Say... has Joe always had those colorful floaty eye-thingies around his head?" Scar asks, absentmindedly stroking the fletchings of an arrow.
"I don't think so?" answers Grian, perched on the railing of the HotGuy Tower. "You hear that clinking of chains around him more often these days, too."
The two are silent for a moment, watching Joe play Beef's card game with Cleo. Even from this distance, they can occasionally catch a flash of color from one of the little floating eyes near him.
"Why do you think that is?"
"I think it's Them", Grian says.
"What do you mean "Them"?"
"Eh, you know. Just Them. You know what I mean, right? They can change us, sometimes. Haven't you noticed?"
"I really don't get what you're talking about."
"I wasn't like this-" for a moment Grian is surrounded by a soft purple glow and a halo of eyes, not in all colors of rainbow like Joe's, but purple like the light around him "-before They decided I was, either."
"But I thought that was the Watcher thing?"
"I mean, it sorta was. But it wasn't. I wasn't like this when I first became a Watcher. This happened when They decided that's what Watchers are like."
"Joe's not a Watcher, though, is he?" asks Scar, frowning.
"Nah, he's Something Else."
"You know, it's weird, but recently I've felt like something's changed", Scar says. "Like I don't know what, but something's different. Dreams of like, arenas and fighting people, some of them ones I've never even met. And it's like there's thousands of voices in the back of my head, cheering me on. It's very distracting."
"Yeah, I think I know what you mean."
"Is that Them too?"
"Probably. Almost definitely, actually."
"I feel like I'm sort of racing, competing with Joe, and I'm not even sure what it's about."
"Yeah, that's Them playing games. You don't have to pay too much attention to it, if you don't want to. It might not be a good idea, anyway. Sometimes They like attention, and then sometimes they run and scatter and hide if you give Them any, and you never know what it'll be this time." Grian shrugs. "The good news is though, if Joe has changed because of Their game, he might change back once it's over or They get bored of the game."
"Might?"
"Yeah, might. Or it might stick. They're fickle creatures, it's hard to tell beforehand."
"You know an awful lot about them", Scar points out.
"That's because They used to be Watchers. Until They decided They weren't, but I still was, and made Watchers be something else instead and became not-Watchers."
"That doesn't make any sense."
"You're right. It doesn't. I think that's how They like it."
Before Scar can ask more questions, Grian spreads his wings and takes off.
this is my favorite hermitcraft art i've done (not to toot my own horn or anything 🫢)
also sorry if y'all are annoyed by me posting but i'm going to post 2 images a day until i'm caught up with my art lol
i used to hate this drawing but it's kinda growing on me lol. i also did this before scar said something about not liking being drawn with oxygen tubes so dont come for me pls
this has gotta be one of my fave hermitcraft drawings. i think it's a combination of liking to draw scar and actually putting attention on the background for once.
