first year vs fourth year
aka im back in sge mode heyyyyy ๐ญ just doodling some (mostly soon to be featured) characters from my prequel / young callis+arthur series (i know its kind of old BUT. i AM working on the next installment which is probably going end up 3x as long ๐ stay tuned for wip posting. and callis posting ๐ฅฐ)
ummm random ideas / explanations under the cut:
gareth and gaheris are arthur's cousins (gaheris is 15 (1 year older than arthur), gareth is 12) and both in his class. they generally dislike arthur for various reasons but mostly because they think he's cursed + stole the crown from his brother
callis is gareth's best friend. he is Not hers. he might also be in love with her but that is a tale for another time. you'll see
george (or grog) and alek are callis's roommates (alek is barely 16, george is turning 12). they both got into evil technically by nepotism. you'll see
it will be Ages before i can properly explain why lesso's name is completely different in this series so ill just say it here. its quite silly actually but its been this way for Years and Years so "leonora" is actually a portmanteau name of her first nickname (nora) and a second nickname (leo). the road to nickname 2 will be a long one paved with the power of friendship and not dying in the trial by tale etc etc. you'll see
emma is a surprise tool we will use later or something. she's not relevant after first year or so but im doing my own spin on her not being asked to the snow ball but somehow not being failed. what i'll say now is that callis and gareth are involved. you'll see
uhhh and if you're reading this have a snippet
Some extra content of the birthday post
hows the brainrot going my guy <3
Not good bro,,, im unwell,,,, brainrot is taking over me,,,,
Other than sge ideas invading my brain, currently looking through @/fourleafclovxr's aus of august sader, which again, making me feel insane
Oh and hunger games and cookie run kingdom are also threatening my mental state right now, so yeah
Hope you have a better brainrot tho!!
Reread the last chapter of worlds without princes (book 2) and wHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT??!? What a messy rollercoaster and idk if i wanted to know what led to that point.
Tristan/Yara dying, Tedros tried to kiss Filip/Sophie, Agatha caught them- agatha sophie fighting- sophie reveal- TEDROS FEELING BETRAYED AND GOING TO AGATHA AND ALL OF A SUDDEN "OH I LOVE YOU MY PRINCESS ITS ALWAYS BEEN YOU-" LIKE YOU DIDN'T JUST TRIED TO KISS SOPHIE?!?
GOD AND THE AFTERMATH- oh my god its awful its disgusting- first sophie getting betrayed, THEN KISSING HER MOTHER?!?!?!??!???? HER DECEASED MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEN THE FUCKING SCHOOL MASTER SHOWS UP OUGGHHH THIS AWFUL WRETCHED VILE DISGUSTING
Now that im older and reread the scene,,, this whole sequence is more fucked up- Sophie crashing out in book 3 is so justified bro id go batshit insane too if that happened to me
No wonder i erased this from my memory, and i wish i never revisited it, this is godawful
Ok, I feel like I need to like, expand a bit.
-The story would happen 5 years in Tedros's and Sophie's marriage. They do not have a heir yet, which concerns the court and the population.
-Sophie quickly lost affection for Tedros but she is hungry for power, so she is still investing in the relationship.
-She is loved by the public.
-Tedros is absolutely disgusted with himself.
-Most of the plot of book 4 will be ignored (for convenience.)
-Agatha's location is a mystery for most people (basically, only the Coven and Dovey knows) and she has not been in contact with Tedros and Sophie.
-Agatha is somewhere in the woods granting wishes and selling potions with Hort (completely platonic relationship, not romantic at all, they just feel comfortable with in each other.)
-Kiko is there too.
That would be a rough explanation about what I am thinking.
do you ever wonder about the function of academic subjects in SGE? like: how does studying literature work if their stories are limited to actual, real-life fairy tales? do people even write fiction (also applies to gavaldon. are their only stories the ones in the fairytales. that's so sad)? is studying literature equivalent to studying history?
and yes, in the school for good and evil, it must be important to learn the practical skills: how to use magic and conduct yourself and stay alive. but what about critical thinking?
ANYWAY. this is my segway into the AU where august sader starts teaching media literacy, gets the students to question the stories, the system & the school master [basically what sophie & agatha do in the first book. good and evil as friends; as equals. but done by an Actual Adult], and overturns the underlying beliefs that govern the world of SGE.
also: inclusive education. i have a lot of thoughts about sader as a blind student during his school days, and how that shapes his teaching philosophy.
also: good teachers!! i similarly have a lot of thoughts about how sader must genuinely love history & how he might enable his students to do the same.
"sge character syndrome meaning their personality is barely existent" is the bEST THING IVE EVER IN YEARS OMFG HELP AHSHFBASFHAHAHAHAH
Random rotsg thoughts (no spoilers)
In the main series Rafal is always so wannabe edgy and mysterious and in rotsge he's just a mildly angsty teen and I love the difference
Also I love all the new teachers? There aren't many but i can definitely imagine some cool fanart of them
Also the students but they suffer from the sge character syndrome meaning their personality is barely existent ๐๐
But also the illustrations and cover slap so hard, even though I kinda miss the style of the older books
I'm also vibing with the different rules in the School, like it's interesting to see that it changed so much
But i guess it's got a sliver of lgbt representation so yay?
@pumpkinpaperweight had a dream and now im suffering with brainrot. The "only sophie got taken so agatha went after her" post, and im not ok, im not ok. I have this plot in my head now, ideas and dialouges, but will i actually do it? idk so here's a couple sketches i did, what i imagined what happens at the aftermath of the kidnapping
aaaarrghh i want this to be a full blown au so bad you have no idea i am not okkk aaaaaaaahh
also the way the fandom skipped over how kei literally drugged dot??? dot is such a tragic character in so many different ways
dot always gets the short end of the stick i swear
yeah that was so messed up i get he was probably ordered to but wtf. i like kei but that was so screwed up of him, why did he get close to dot and USE her like that oh my god. and the way dot was blamed and attacked by the coven and hort when she was DRUGGED by this boy who she thought genuinely liked her.
no but thatโs so messed up, like yes we love kei but letโs not forget to hold him accountable for that pls
