whenever a bigot says they do not trust a minority because one of them hurt them there will be someone who isn't part of that minority who says something like "well they never hurt me or made me feel bad!"
and I understand where this comes from, I understand that it's trying to form allyship with said minority and tell the bigot that not everyone is bad
but it really feels like conditional acceptance
I've seen some shit in my years, I've seen lesbian radfems, gay men tehms, trans women who try to trigger trans men on purpose and trans men who try to trigger trans women right back, aro and ace separatists, the list goes on and on (and this is just in the queer community the stuff I've seen in the disabled community is even worse)
and absolutely none of this has ever made me go "well this minority must then be filled with evil people who deserve to feel bad, or do not deserve to be talking about their oppression"
minorities are composed of human beings and as human beings we aren't perfect all the time. and I understand allies that want to tell bigots that we aren't all bad. but simply saying "well *I* never got treated badly by this group" isn't actually gonna make any bigot change their mind. and please, don't change your mind if one person of said group *does* treat you badly
The way some of you people treat trans men and transmascs is reprehensible.
Fascists won't spare you for kissing the boots that they're putting on your trans sibling's necks.
No guys you don't get it I was joking when I said all men especially trans mascs should die I wasn't actually targeting a minority with hate, it was satire when I said specifically what awful things should happen to them for being men I was doing it for the theatrics when I used transphobic talking points and called them future terfs and Nazis it was literally just for the bit guys cmon nobody can take a joke any more how is it not the same as this joke about hurting an oppressor when I come up with funny statements suggesting I want to violently hurt and/or kill an entire minority for being trans masc?
i’m starting a new ideology called poonerism that’s all about how trans men and transmascs are the most oppressed people in the whole world and other trans people but especially trans people amab are so so privileged over us and barely feel transphobia compared to us so literally anything we say or do to them is punching up. we’re called poonies and will exclusively identify ourselves and our beliefs that way but NOBODY besides us is allowed to say that word EVER because it’s a SLUR and if you say it you’re being transphobic towards us and admitting you think there’s an evil underground network of scary abusive trans men trying to take over the world. because I said so.
/satire. you know what about.
It is so annoying when people respond to "the queer community has an anti-masc problem" with "well society loves and praises masculinity!" Okay... yes... but that's not what we're talking about 😭 The queer community ≠ society as a whole. Also? The society that praises masculinity does NOT praise queer masculinity. Cishet society does not praise butches, masculine trans people, or anyone who is masc in a queer way. And unfortunately, many queer people have this same problem.
Aside from the compulsion to claim historical trans men as women for feminist history, I've also noticed attempts to neutralize trans men into non binary figures.
Of course, language surrounding non binary identities in the western world is relatively new, so someone from the 1800s might have had some long winded way of saying they were non binary.
But take the case of Megillus from Lucien's writings in Ancient Greece, who will say "I am entirely a man" and still have people being like, oh they're just a confused little girl product of restricted language. There is no way they really mean it when they say explicitly they are 100% a man. Obvious example of non-binary identity.
Obviously non binary people deserve to see themselves in history, but like...c'mon...
Just something I've noticed in my research into trans men of the past
I notice that I‘m scared to even speak about this issue sometimes. I feel like a coward. Idk what to do about it, because I can’t just keep quiet when I hear people just straight up deny transmasc oppression. But I already know their reaction. They will not take me seriously. They will twist my words. They will double down and ignore the evidence. Even when I show them literal statistics of SA in transmascs, somehow that doesn’t matter.
I'm just gonna say it: people using the term "transandrobros" gives me the exact same vibe as people saying "feminazis".
trying so hard not to notice how 90% of trans positivity posts on this website exclude nonbinary people
but sure, shinigami eyes loves trans people... it just endorses people who want trans men/mascs to kill themselves! thats not transphobic! (heavy sarcasm)
