I've read this mermaid/merman/merpeople ( ?? ) au fic wherein Atsushi's a pirate ( I think ) point is he's a human and Akutagawa's a merfolk specifically an octopus.

The plot was that Atsushi fell off board the ship and Akutagawa was going to eat him and Atsushi thought he was so pretty and that if he's gonna die might as well have his first kiss with this very pretty creature. Akutagawa thought that was weird and decided to just take him home instead. His home is a cave basically and Akutagawa decides okay so I'm not going to eat him I'm just gonna send him back conveniently there's a storm they're stuck tgt and they end up fucking and the storm passes the next day Akutagawa takes him back and they promise to see each other again.
