I lowkey forgot just how bad voltron fandom was about characterization I'm watching for the first time in years and like lowkey. Keith is a smiley boy A LOT of the time. Like sure he's not a yapper like Lance or Hunk but the boy smiles and like. Giggles about his little successes with red. He comes up with fucking feral plans to get shit done. Hes really only ever particularly standoffish or cold with lance and that's just because- *I'm taken out by a sniper before I can start talking about klance on main*

If you think about it…. the acronym KYS isn’t saying “kill yourself,” it’s saying Kill Your Self. Three words. As in, kill the concept of the “Self” - your consciousness’s perception that it is an individual, that it has one meaningful isolated identity that is “you,” that it is not but a droplet in the grand ocean of interconnected souls of all living beings in this universe. i wish she was real

i watched dead boy detectives this week and now i'm kinda obsessed with making it about thiam. so i present you the thiam dead boy detectives au plot bunnies in my head 🐰

there are different ways i imagined it. the first:

theo dies and is sent to hell. now, contrary to what happened to edwin, he very much deserved it. his hell in this au is similar to his canonical hell, so tara keeps haunting him and clawing his heart out of his chest and then it all starts again – for eternity. but he manages to escape! and he decides to spend his afterlife doing some good deeds so that he can maybe convince death not to send him there again if she ever catches him.

then he meets liam and keeps him company while he slowly dies after being beaten by his teammates. when liam wakes as a ghost, he wants to get revenge, but theo is afraid that's gonna get him sent to hell, and so feels compelled to guide him in a different direction. liam lets it go but decides to follow theo and solve ghost mysteries with him forever :) at first theo doesn't want him around (because vulnerability is a bitch) but liam is as stubborn as he's beautiful, so there's no escape <3

at some point theo will have to tell liam the whole truth about his past and how cruel he was, of course. liam is taken aback, and they have a fight and theo pushes him away in the worst way possible. but then liam is in danger and theo sacrifices himself for him and is dragged to hell, and liam still decides to risk everything to get him back!

alternative that mirrors the teen wolf canon:

liam is a ghost that works together with scott, stiles and the others in the dead boy detectives agency (it was only scott and stiles at first, then other people joined, both dead and alive). they meet theo on a case, but he manipulates liam to obtain something (he could be a witch in this, or an evil ghost, or another type of creature).

at some point, he gets killed (or just caught by death) and sent to hell. years later, when the detectives have to go to hell to retrieve something or someone, liam meets theo down there. theo decides to help him because he feels guilty about everything he's done in the past, and in the end liam can't leave him behind, so he drags him all the way back to earth.

theo has a lot of magical knowledge and decides to use it to help the others solve all their cases, even though they don't trust him. liam doesn't either, not entirely, but he's the only one who saw theo in the depths of hell and is sure that the boy would do anything to keep himself out of there.

theo of course develops a strong sense of loyalty and devotion towards liam, just like in canon <3 and in the end, maybe there's a moment where liam could finally move forward to heaven, but decides to stay behind with theo <3

There's this really frustrating goyish idea that Jews are always finding "loopholes" or "tricks" to violate the "spirit of the law" when it comes to observing Jewish law. No, they're following Jewish law. All ways in which one can follow the law are equally "in the spirit of the law" because the law's purpose is to be followed. The idea that finding easier ways to observe religious rules means "tricking" god or doing something otherwise shameful is reflective of Christian philosophy. Suffering is not virtuous in Judaism. Penance is not the purpose of Jewish law. Judaism is meant to enrich the current lives of its community, not ritualize hardship for some unknowable divine purpose.

in my head theo is so insanely good at knowing what liam wants because he literally is tuned in on everything going on with him. he’s listening to his heartbeat, using his chemo signals, and watching his body language (which obviously he can read exceptionally well because of the reformed murder thing)

liam is kinda oblivious to it though but there’s one point where he’s like “how tf did you know that”

Something about Theo literally being the Came Back Wrong trope but like. Came back wrong as in came back incapable of being who he was before, and maybe that’s not a bad thing. Like, the boy who used emotions as a weapon, who treated everyone’s feelings and their emotional response to his faked feelings, coming back from Hell and being so utterly incapable of hiding his own anymore.

There wasn’t a single scene in S6 where he didn’t have some sort of feeling on his face, some sort of raw emotion about whatever situation they were in. His smiles at Liam are some of the most genuine emoting we see him do and it all seems to very different to that calculating, manipulative persona we had in 5A. Idk man.

Something about Tara ripping his her heart out over and over again until he learned how to feel with it.

i think we should all start writing more theo and liam fistbumping. their almost-fistbump in 6x09 was irrationally hilarious to me, like, oh man you just shot a ghost rider and its accomplice with its own gun? fist bump me up. also it'd be so funny if one of them was helping someone else fight off a Beacon Hills Disaster (TM) , automatically offered up a fistbump after eliminating part of the threat, and got questioned instead of having it reciprocated

Thinking about an au where Theo never met the Dread Doctors and grew up to be best friends with Scott and Stiles. He would have gone with them to the preserve in the first episode but would be caught by The Sheriff with Stiles. And basically would help Scott alongside Stiles. He probably wouldn't be part of the lacrosse team and be more of a nerd type.

When Derek becomes alpha he goes and asks him to turn him and that leads him and Scott to fight because Scott would not understand choosing to turn but Theo would bitterly tell him he doesn't remember what it's like to be weak anymore (remember he also had asthma) and helpless in the supernatural world they were thrown into. He would be part of Derek's pack for a while but would leave to join Scott's just like Isaac did.

Also! It would mean Tara is alive! She would eventually find out about the supernatural and would be involved somehow too. Maybe once Argent turns good he and Alison teach her how to fight. Or maybe she would turn out to be a different supernatural creature like Lydia or Kira are.

For the thiam engle of it (because of course) maybe from the start he would be the person to be there for Liam when Liam first turn and they just... connect.

Alternatively they could also not get along AT ALL until something happens and they start to bond, similar to canon thiam. In both cases they're obviously eachother's anchors (ꈍ⁠ᴗ⁠ꈍ⁠)

Idk what that would mean for s5 plot tho... Do the Dread Doctors come around anyway? Would they have with them someone else instead of Theo? What about the Chimeras? Hayden and Corey? Idk anything is possible~ :3c

Shoutout to everyone telling Liam for 2 seasons "you're okay, you're okay, you're okay" and then this tragic, complexed, slutty gay guy comes along and looks him straight in the eye and says "you're not okay, you're not okay at all and there's no reason why you should be" and Liam BELIEVES him.

Liam has spent his whole life thinking he has to change and be different to be accepted and joining Scott's pack hasn't changed that: Liam still feels like he has to appear okay because that's what everyone expects of him.

And what happens is Theo comes along and is like "it's okay, you can stay here with me, just for a little while, you can stay here at rock bottom and catch your breath and then you can start climbing again, you can rest in my absence of expectation" and Liam BELIEVES him.

And what happens next is that Liam catches his breath and then stands up and takes Theo's hand and says "let's go back up" and when Theo tries to object because he is obviously convinced that he has no right to go back up Liam is like "it's okay, you can come with me, just for a little while, you can come back up and feel the real air and then you can go back down, you can breathe in my trust" and this time it's Theo who believes him.

Liam and Theo are at their lowest point and that's what makes everything happen: at least at the beginning it's not respect, or esteem or need, it's understanding. They know each other on a deeper level and understand each other like the reflection of a mirror. And this seems unable to change anything but actually changes the whole course of the narrative because Theo UNDERSTANDS Liam and Liam TRUSTS Theo and I want to die
