Pressure

Pac didn’t like lying to his friends,but he didn’t like being overwhelmed even more. As he walked down the maze of Maze Prep high school in the night he, could only think of how this started.

“You ready Pacster ?”

Pac looked towards his friend who had interrupted him from , his book( Grimm Tales hey he liked the classics) , then looked back down at the story book.

Hesitantly he responded “ I don’t actually think i’m going to the dance Spy, I just want to relax and read my book,” he lifted his book for exaggeration “ That and I have bit of a headache”

The lie of headache came out to flawless, to perfected. Though to his relief Spiral seemed to have bought it though, clearly disappointed by that fact he would staying in the dorm tonight.

Spiral let out a jagged sigh “Okay, bro just promise me you’ll get better kay ?”

A smile slowly spread from Pac’s lips “ Only if you, promise to get some sweet pics of you and Cylie!”

“Dude , you know it! See ya later Pacster!” As Spiral made his way towards the door Pac, watched his every step to the door and out of it.

‘Finally’ thought Pac as he laid back down on his bed ‘Just me and this book’

Though to Pac’s dismay he couldn’t enjoy it, It seemed everything just started to seem uncomfortable. The bed he was laying on was to lumpy or the higher up above him were too loud. The whole thing seemed to just be wrong. So on whim he did what he thought was right, that was to take a power berry and float down from his third story room with his book.

As he floated down he could feel the mid spring heat in the air it was nice. So as not to be seen Pac walked towards the maze behind the ,school and troll through and read his book.

Walking through the maze Pac became more and more immersed in his book. He had finally gotten to the chapter about the singing bone, he particularly liked this story because of the dynamics and how it reminded him of President Spheros and his brother. That’s when he heard it,humming.

The first thought thing that had popped into his head was,to dodge and hide behind a nearby hedge. Slowly but surely as not to get caught Pac crawled through the hedge following only the sound of the humming,when it stopped. Pac froze, had been caught ? Soon his question was answered. “You, can come out now I know you’re there.”

Pac’s eyes had widened he knew that voice, more importantly he knew who it belonged to Betrayus. Hundreds of thoughts had flooded Pac’s mind such as why was Betrayus there ? Was he planning on destroying the school ? Was this a trap ? IN an attempt to calm himself he reached for his power berries but to no avail , while grabbing them his book and container fell to the ground. Now he was here in the hedge his hideaway given away,before he could do anything Betrayus’ clawed glove grabbed the berries and book.

“So you like, Grimm tales to huh Pacpest ?” he said it so calmly it almost disturbed Pac, did Betrayus not realize Pac could swallow him up and spit out his eyes right now?

He was about to jump out when the same gloved hand outreached for him, and helped him out of the hedge. WHen Pac was safely on the the ground , Pac looked up and Betrayus with eyes narrowed.

“What are you doing here Betrayus ?” his tone harsh.

Betrayus eyebrows raised “Figure the same as you, we’re tired and we don’t want to deal with anybody. So how about a deal ?”

Pac looked at him searching for any sign of Betrayus’ usually ticks to show he was lying, though relaxed somewhat none had showed itself. “What kind of deal ?” PAc asked the hesitance clearly displayed in his voice.

“Once a week ? Yeah once a week me and you put our differences aside, and just relax and talk. Though no talk of our planes or of you being famous or me being your mortal enemy or king of anything. So sound like a deal?”

Betrayus hand was outstretched to show how to the deal should be sealed. Pac slowly raised his hand and shook, and that was that. With that Pac sat next to Betrayus and started to talk to him about the book and having Betrayus identify the words he didn’t know. Pac knows he should feel guilty about this and gobble up Betrayus but he didn’t.

Pac liked the arrangement him and Betrayus had. It had been like this for months, it was relaxing and he shut out the thoughts of being famous and a hero. Once Pac turned the corner he was snapped out of his thoughts.

There next to Betrayus was little table with a bright neon yellow tablecloth, on top was a cake and one present. Pac raised his eyebrow at the sight and next to to the table was a very smug look on his face.

“Betrayus ?”

If even possible Betrayus smile became even wider “Did you really think I wouldn’t know that today, was your birthday lemon drop ?”

Pac was taken back by the statement he had completely forgotten today was his birthday. That’s when it came back to him, that was why everyone was avoiding him, a surprise party. But what shocked him the most was he would prefer this instead of being around everyone else.

Pac smiled, and spoke “ Honestly I forgot. But why don’t we get this party started huh dad ?”

Pac walked past a very shocked Betrayus, frozen in place. Betrayus looked at Pac who by, the looks of it didn’t even realize what he said as he took the present off the table. Betrayus then looked at him smiling again.

“Yeah,sure Pac.”
