FINALLY! I proudly present: A KLANCE TEXTING GAME!
I finally made it: My very own Klance Game! :D It took me over a year to create this baby and I never thought I would actually make it: But here it is!
I don’t want to spam this post too much with the creation process, but you can find out more about the game and how to play in the link!
IT’S FREE TO PLAY! All I request is: PLEASE tell me what you think and reblog this! :D
OKAY ! So I’ve got quite a bit of plans for language learning this summer and I was thinking if I post it to tumblr then hopefully it’ll be more than just wishful thinking. SO without further ado, here are my plans.
finish Dracula by August 31 (6 pages per day minimum)
at least one hour of active learning a day (grammar practice, vocabulary, etc)
at least five new words each day
write 3,000+ word story
at least one hour of active learning a day (grammar practice, vocabulary, etc)
at least five new words each day
translate one poem/song/paragraph a week
at least one hour and a half of active learning a day (grammar practice, vocabulary, etc)
at least seven new words a day
I’m glad you asked, self. While reading books and listening to music is great for language learning, unless there are comprehension questions at the end, I would consider it passive learning. Here are some active learning exercises that are (hopefully) more interesting than just doing plain textbook drills.
write a sparknotes summary for each episode of a TV show or book you’re engaging with. Bonus points if show/book is in a different language than your summaries, because that requires you to interact with new vocabulary.
find x number of vocabulary terms then weave them into a story or poem. Doesn’t have to be long or complex
film or voice record yourself talking about a topic that means a lot to you, then note down what words and grammar you have yet to learn
Guys. Please can someone give me good bkdk fics to read that are fluffy without too much intense angst. Like hurt comfort is good too. Confessions and getting together. But with no nsfw PLEASE GOD and also one where they dont mischaracterize them and make izuku an uwu boy and katsuki a discord daddy. SOMEONE PLEASE
!SPOILERS!
ANOTHER BIG THING INTERNATIONAL VIEWERS MAY NOT PICK UP FOR SQUID GAME:
any viewer for squid game will understand that each game/round in the show are all childhood games from korea. this is well known.
but a smaller, unsubtle nod to another korean classic is actually the very last episode. it's titled 'A Lucky Day' or in korean '운수 좋은 날'. a modern classical literature text written by a korean author in 1924 about a rickshaw driver who went out to work despite his sick wife's protests, had a unusually lucky day and earned enough money, but upon returning home found his wife dead.
a big symbolism noted in the book itself is its showcase of rain and the wife's yearning (for warm broth). the very last game/battle between gihun and sangwoo ends in rain. when gihun returns home its raining heavily. gihun gets fish (well albeit rather reluctantly takes it from sangwoo's mom) for his own mother only to find her dead. despite how the games initially seems favourable in gihun's part, his world ends up rotten to the core when he returns back home. everyone he cared for now died.
i just feel like the director-writer made it such that the whole plot is a big nod to old korean classics (be it games or literature) and i just didnt see this noticed in social media so just wanted to share this! very happy to see such symbolism of korean literature in squid game.
p.s. anyone notice that both junho and inho, the two brothers, are actually playing hide-and-seek throughout the show— 👁👁
