Welcome to the Internet, I suppose.

Sometimes we whisper to the night, when the night can do naught but listen.

I don't know if you can even hear me in there, Sun.

But I want you to know that I regret it.

Every day spent with you, I grow tired, more and more, of not saying it properly.

The words I hold back, the things I leave unsaid. They weigh heavy.

I express to you every way I can, how much you truly mean to me, but the fear lingers, twining around my fingers like serpents of dread.

What if you don't feel the same? What if you laugh in my face? Pity me? Recoil in disgust?

Would you? I'm unsure if I could bear it.

Even now, I start and stop, just short of speaking my mechanical heart to you. I envision an awkward laugh, a step back. Rejection.

At the very least, perhaps, I can cherish you as a friend. If you'll still have me then. You'll always have me, after all...
