(jk i love you and thank you for that wonderful compliment. Though the fact that ANYONE is inspired by me is still awesomely baffling.)

But as far as your question goes...

24. favorite scene i’ve ever written

Tbh, its a really close call between two scenes in ‘Golden Madness’ for me

The first one being the part where Sifair (my OC and Keith’s mom) says goodbye to Matt and Shiro in Chapter 5: Lick Your Wounds. 

Mainly barbecue i feel that that scene, if nothing else, TRULY conveys the whole of Sifair’s character. I character i’ve spent so long rewriting and revising. 

The qualities she shows in that scene are the qualities that have stuck with her through her first iteration and to her present stage. 

She’s a mom.

A mom who’s had a hard, bloodly life full of regrets and death. A mom who’s willing to go through all that again if it means protecting her kids. A mom who, at the same time, doesn't want to put her kids through what she had to go through. She just wants love and the someone to love.

That scene really captures that.

The second one would have to be a scene in Chapter 10: A Version of the Truth

The one where Allura’s telling the side of Laila’s story HER father told her, and, at the same time, Coran is telling the side of the Laila’s story that the ALTEAN PEOPLE were told. 

It was confusing to write.

But it was a risk i wanted to take. It was something that the plot of ‘Golden Madness’ hinged upon. The concept of POV and which narrative is the right one is something i’ve always wanted to play with. 

This scene is really the culmination of those ideas.

After i posted that chapter i got theory after theory in the comment section. And while comments and feedback are easily the best parts of writing, THEORIES are in a league all their own. 

They show that my work made people think.

That it made them reevaluate what they knew and present it in a way they wanted to see come to fruition. This scene allowed for theories to finally come into GM and i’m so thankful it exists.

Once again, thank you for the ask! And i hope that answers your question. It was surprisingly difficult to try and pick one scene, so just had to pick two!

Why does it cost me $12 to send my SAT and ACT scores and $15 to send my AP scores to colleges? It’s a digital score report how does it cost money? Where does this money go? Why do I need to pay MORE money for this in addition to the actual application fees which is in addition to my actual college tuition? I get that capitalism is necessary but why does it have to bleed so deeply into my education?

Secretly though...

Lotor can’t tell either of them apart

Concept: much to everyone’s shock, Colleen ends up fucking ADORING Lotor.

She was secretly an alien nut the whole time, and then Pidge or Matt bring one home to meet her and she’s all for it. Like what’s not to love? He’s polite, handsome, smart, tall, royalty. Then she finds out about his parent issues and proceeds to mother the shit out of him. Make him food, knit him a scarf, be an ear to listen to him. Lotor doesn’t know what to do with all this sudden affection.

While he’s munching on cookies she made, Colleen turns to Matt and Pidge, “Either one of you marries him, or he becomes your new brother.”
