Pidge Ship Week: Day 1 - Trust
===
He had hurt her.
“I trusted you! You promised me! You promised…” Sobs, loud and ugly, over took the Green Paladin’s small body. Her heart hurting too much. How could he? How could he? Was the only thing she could repeat in her head to keep her sane.

“Its an alternate reality!”
He couldn’t breathe. How could he? This…small woman before had nearly killed him.
This small woman from his dreams.
Believe him, he knows it sounds crazy, but its true. Sven was born at an Altean rehab center. Meant to house potential ‘workers’ for the Altean Empire. He lived there with his parents until he was 13. His life there had been restrictive and monitored, but he had his family.
He had been happy.
Before his mild-mannered parents were killed for being ‘physically inferior’ and a ‘long-term unreliability’. After that…Sven had nothing.
And then the dreams started.
Blurry and unfocused at first, the dreams were all Sven could cling to. But they were enough.
She was enough.
The dreams seemed to be from another life altogether. Another life more peaceful and wonderful than the only one Sven has ever known. This woman in green had been different though.
Happier.
In Sven’s dreams they had lived somewhere wonderful. With green, lush grass and the sun bright and warm. So much unlike his life before joining arms with the Guns. It had been a simpler life. Where the pair of them had lived side by side. Grew up together.
But in the dreams she had always been smiling. Usually at him. Other times at inventions her nimble fingers often crafted in her spare time. Brilliant in every way. Her expression so carefree and sparkling, Sven could hardly bare to look at her. Sven used to…used to think that they might’ve been together.
Been in love.
Even now, if Sven thought about it, he could almost smell the scent of her hair from that long ago life. Or the feel of her hands, small and callous from typing, around his own. Even the look of her lips, soft and pink, had Sven’s own almost moving in a phantom memory. Memories.
The only thing Sven could cling to.
He had joined the Guns of Gamora with the hope of avenging his parents and the…very fragile hope of meeting the beautiful girl with the golden eyes. And whose to say he couldn’t? Anything was possible.
Right?
Sven had wanted to find that beautiful girl from his dreams and ask her why he couldn’t get her out of his head. Why she haunted him in such a lovely way. Both in that other life and in this one. Memories of her clinging to him like a drug, a ghost. Could they…?
Could they come together once more?
But no, the look in her eyes proved otherwise. The small woman in green before him may have those same burning, brilliant gold eyes. Those same warm, soft strands of hair around her face. Those same sparkling little freckles all over her skin like kisses. This small woman that had nearly taken his head off, may look like his dear love from another life.
But she wasn’t.
So I did it.
I succumbed to that shidge writing itch that you guys threw poison ivy on because this is something we all want and need apparently
Original post
The hardest thing that Takashi Shirogane had to do was get out of bed.
Not to say that he was sinking into depression and couldn’t arise, no, it was the exact opposite. His bed, their bed, was one of the safest and most comforting places he’d ever known, thanks most in part to his tiny female partner, and it was a daily struggle to convince himself to depart from it. He and Pidge had owned their cozy apartment nearing a year now, and the slab of mattress and tangled sheets that they rested on had become the most intoxicating setting in his home. There were days were they opted to stay in place for hours, only leaving to make food or bathroom runs and returning to collapse in the other’s arms and the sea of blankets. It was hard to leave because she was there, because they had comforted each other from the memories of the war there, because every good day, shit day, and night of love always ended in each other’s arms, on the bed.
But some days were harder than the rest.
The setting was always the same, posing the exact challenge it had for a while now; dark grey sheets that lay crinkled up between them, olive comforter sprawled around the two in uneven heaps of worn fabric. Her sleeping form was bundled up next to him, clinging at the arms that encircled her torso, head turned to the one that used it as a pillow. The rest of the bed seemed freezing in comparison to her, though with the pair’s legs tangled together and huddled figures smashed together, her presence chased off any remaining cold of the perimeter around him. Blinding sunlight poured from the gaps in the blinds, sloshing golden light inside the room in bouncing parallel strips.
Blinking into the realm of reality, Shiro instinctively tightened his grip on the woman in his arms, burying his nose in her curled, unruly hair with slow, fatigued movements. The sleeping Pidge made not a move besides the rising and falling of her sides, comfortably conforming to the ‘big spoon’ behind her. His senses were then filled with bright brown hair, blinding sunlight, and the scent of vanilla and burnt carbon as he was once again tempted by the thought of staying where he was for the remainder of the day.
Sighing, he blew her caramel curls away from his mouth, fingers knotting at his t-shirt that draped over her lithe frame. ‘Is showing up at a Garrison meeting really worth getting up from this? What day even is it?’
After a minute or two of contemplation, Shiro groaned and shifted away from the woman he loved, lifting the covers and throwing his legs over the bedframe, running a hand through his white-stained forelock. His muscles stung, the ache the familiar, momentary one that only existed because he had moved. Though the apartment’s heater tried its best, he shivered-everything was like ice compared to her. With a final shake, he made a move to heave himself up-
-until dull nails tickled one of the scars on his back.
As soon as his head spun, he met the soft, squinted gaze of Pidge’s honey eyes. Her arm extended out to him, hand blindly groping at any clutchable surface that he retained, eventually finding his prosthetic and then latching onto the metallic limb. She peeled her lips apart, blinking tiredly; her dreams must’ve been somewhat peaceful, then, as she wasn’t automatically running at full speed.
“..ome back to bed,” She offered, eyebrows kneading together and gentle smile painting itself on her soft, freckled features. She squeezed the bridge between his neck and shoulder, her other hand finding the parallel spot within a matter of seconds. The plea scratched at his resolve, itching and tugging at his head because damn just staying home today sounded really good.
He exhaled a quiet, desperate laugh and leaned over, pecking her nose. “I have to go.”
“..iot.”
“Hmm?”
Her freckled arms flung out and grabbed his shoulders, yanking him down over her lanky form and forcing him to catch himself out of instinct, the pair close enough to where their noses brushed together. Tangled hair guarded the tops of her half-lidded eyes, bottom lip jutting out and completing her pouty appearance. Pidge maneuvered her hands to press against the sides of his face, shaking it gently with every word.
“It. Is. Saturday.”
“Oh.”
Shiro’s elbows gave way, the fatigued super-soldier of a man succumbing to her earlier plea and falling onto the lanky, warm form of his partner, forcing his arms around her through the mass of sheets and digging his nose against her neck. She laughed softly, the sound tickling his chest as the past Green Paladin roamed Shiro's shoulders, the two now glued together by method of awkward cuddling. The cold was now longer felt, and the soft heartbeat in the chest under his own was loud enough to become a lullaby and lure him back to the realm of sleep, clinging onto the woman beneath him all the while.
wow! there’s so many more of y’all now.
hi!
consider this a reminder that requests for web weaves and comparatives are currently open! i’m running a bit low on inspo atm, so i’d appreciate your thoughts.

Things got better for them.
Sure, Allura's eyebrow would twitch at the sight of their entwined hands and Matt took it upon himself to give Lotor the whole "Big Brother" talk.
And Shiro wouldn't look at the pair of them altogether.
But they were happy. Pidge was glad to have someone who understood her as well as Lotor by her side. Lotor was elated to have finally found an equal in the Green Paladin.
Together, they made quite the fearsome pair.
All biting intelligence and stone-cold fury, the Empire was bound to get nervous. But no one, not any one of them, would've expected the Galran Empire's next move.
They attacked Earth.
A seriously pissed-off Voltron shut the whole operation down, of course. But the terror of what could've been still froze the marrow in their bones. To make matters worse, Earth had taken notice of the little skirmish on the edge of their solar system.
Discovered them.
Allura deciding that the best course of action would be to go down to the surface and try to explain the danger Earth was truly in.
Lance nearly cried with happiness.
Matt and Pidge were overjoyed at the prospect of seeing their mother again. Of coming home. But, there was one problem.
Lotor.
Not that he opposed the decision or anything. The Galran Prince was beyond eager to explore the world and woman that created his beloved little Paladin. No, the problem Lotor presented was very simple in nature.
He was purple.
With silver hair and Altean ears. It wasn’t as though Pidge disliked any of that, rather, she was worried that the government might be. And suddenly, all those nights binge-watching conspiracy theories seemed like a bad idea.
Curse the undeniable proof that Mothman existed!
“I don’t think you should come.” Pidge announced as the couple got ready for bed. The pair stayed up later than everyone else most days, usually due to each other’s company, so it only made sense for them rest at each other’s side as well.
No one else knew.
Which was just fine with the young couple. Everyone knew how late they could work, and therefore no eyebrows were raised when they would walk into the dining room with sleep still clinging to their eyes. Thinking that it was their projects beginning to catch up to them, when really they had just wanted to stay in the same bed for a little while longer. Stay in each other’s arms a moment longer.
Just for a moment.
“Why not? It’s only proper that I meet your mother, considering…” Lotor sent a not so discreet glance towards their shared bed. Littered with their projects and blueprints. Lotor’s side only slightly neater than Pidge’s. The young woman only rolled her eyes, opening her mouth to retort.
When Lotor took his shirt off.
Now…you’d think with the sheer number of times he’s slept in the same bed as her, Pidge would be used to such a sight. But no.
That wasn’t the case.
Good lord, and the look her gave her after stripping! Pidge had half a mind to throw her pillow at him just for that teasing little look. Her face a blushing red mess.
“WHA-We haven’t done anything and you know it!” Came her flustered screech. Trying to take her eyes off of Lotor. Away from his defined, toned stomach. Away from the smooth way his muscles moved underneath his skin. Away from the visible V-line of his hips peaking out from his grey sweatpants.
Obviously she succeeded.
“You don’t look like you’re too happy about that though~”
“L-Look! I’m just worried that humans will see you and-“ Pidge trailed off, Lotor having joined her on their bed. Toned, purple arms on either side of her. The Green Paladin’s heart thundering in her chest at the sight of Lotor’s face watching her underneath him. Sliver hair slipping off his back and onto her shoulders. Leaving ghosting imprints along her collarbones. That soft, soft look back on his face.
Then he changed.
Shifted his features in the same way Allura did. Lotor’s purple skin growing a warmer mocha color. His bright hair running the darkest shade of black Pidge had ever seen. Fangs retreating to a normal size. Ears loosing their sharp points. Eyes loosing their yellow nightlightish hue, but remained that same brilliant blue color.
Pidge nearly choked.
Lotor smiled. And though he may look human, that wolfish smile was still the same. Still sent shivers down her spine. And the smug Prince above her knew it. Lotor leaning down to kiss her with violet-turned-pink lips just like he always did. Pidge’s hands tangling themselves into his ink-black hair. His weight solidly pressing against her.
He laughed.
“See something you like Darling?”
I FEEL ATTACKED???? BUT THIS IS ALSO QUALITY ANGST????
lotor finding out how short human lifespans are compared to galra/altean for #angst
Just… just rip my heart out why don’t ya.
I wonder when he would tell her how long he’d live if that were the case. Imagine Pidge listing all the things she wants to do with him in her life, get married, establish peace, get a dog, get 7 more dogs, she starts listing accomplishments she wants to achieve at certain ages. She ends with “And by 90 or so we’ll be old and withered so we can retire in peace, finally a chance to relax!” And Lotor’s smile never slips off his face even when his heart is shattering into a million peaces at the inevitable future. He has to make sure to cherish every moment he can while he still has her.

She had never known color.
Never known in what hues the world was drowned in. She could smell it, in the pigments and chemicals used to make up certain colors, but Narti had never known them.
She never would.
Though sometimes, very rarely, the female General would, somehow, receive the slightest hint of color. A sort of smoke that would curl around her shoulders and through her fingers. It was a warm, happy sort of color.
And she loved it.
But it never lasted.
