Desktop icon design contest!

Contest ends: October 1st, 2018 right when the clock strikes midnight EST.

That’s right, we’re back with another contest! This time, it’s for the desktop logo for the main UNDERFELL launcher.

A desktop icon gives a game its definition, its sense of what to expect - and we certainly don’t have a perfect one (it’s the default RPG Maker MV icon!) so… we need help!

That’s where you come in. We need you to help design a desktop icon for official use! Here’s the deets:

BUT BEFORE WE START, THE BOOK OF RULES AND GUIDELINES!

• IT HAS TO BE UNDERFELL-RELATED!  No other AU or video game/reference character shenanigans! It can be literally ANYTHING as long as looks good when it’s ultimately sized down to a compact, nearly-pocket world of magic and monsters.

• IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE A STRAIGHT-UP 1-DIMENSION BOX! For example, RPG Maker MV uses some pretty cool default icons that play a lot with 3D and transparency! Be as creative as you want!

• THE CREATIVE DESIGN ITSELF DOESN’T MATTER, THOUGH! What I mean by this, is it can be as evil or as cute as you’d like. Just keep the original edgy-theme!

• NOW, LISTEN UP! When your design is chosen, our artist, @whimsy-floof​ will re-draw the icon in her style to fit with our artistic consistency.

• THIS CONTEST HAS A DEADLINE! It will end the second October 1st, 2018 rolls around as soon as the clock strikes midnight EST! No designs after the deadline will be considered to keep this fair!

• BONUS POINTS IF YOU MAKE THE OVERALL DESIGN COMPATIBLE WITH ARTISTIC EDITS! What I mean by this, is if your design works with holiday edits from our artist (santa hats, halloween junk) all the better!

• WHEN YOU SUBMIT YOUR DESIGN, YOU’RE GIVING US FULL RIGHTS TO ITS USE! This should be without saying, but we’ve had some trouble in the past with a sneaky person or two trying to start drama.

• MAKE SURE TO MENTION @underfellfangame SO WE SEE THE SUBMISSION! That’s about it!

“Absolutely not.”

“Hot Pants! Just give her a little pat to say hello.”

“I refuse.”

“But Hot Pants,” Diego whines, “you’re hurting her feelings. She really likes you.”

“I am fairly certain that Manhattan doesn’t give a singular shit about me. She’s a lizard. She’s stupid.” Diego gasps as if Hot Pants insulted his mother. He coddles the bearded dragon in his hands.

“Don’t listen to her, gorgeous. Hot Pants is just a mean old maid, isn’t she? And you’re my precious girl, aren’t you? Yes, you are! Yes, you are!” Hot Pants glares. If she didn’t know any better she’d say the damned lizard looked pleased with itself.

“That monster started bobbing its head the moment it laid eyes on me. I don’t know why it isn’t trying to attack you.”

“It’s because she loves me,” Diego coos, “Don’t you, Manhattan?” The lizard, being a lizard, doesn’t give any sort of response, but Diego takes her silence as agreement. He gently puts his pet back inside her terrarium. “I’m going to wash my hands. You ladies get along while I’m gone, okay?” He snickers at Hot Pants’s unamused expression and leaves the room.

Hot Pants glares at Manhattan who seems to glare back. “Back off, homewrecker. He’s mine.” The lizard blinks. “I mean it. You think you have him in the palm of your grimy little hand (claw?), but you’ll never be able to give him what I can. Never forget that.” Manhattan’s beard flares aggressively. “I’ll kill you…”

“Hot Pants, are you jealous of my lizard?” She can sense his smug aura before even turning around.

“No. I just hate it.” She doesn’t even sound convincing to herself.

“You don’t have to envy a reptile. Manhattan may be my favorite lizard, but you’re my favorite person.” He stands on his toes to kiss her forehead.

“Mhm.”

“You’re still upset. Come on,” he teases, “use your words, like you always tell me.”

“It would be nice– occasionally – if you showed me the same kind of attention you do that lizard.”

“You want me to coddle you?”

“Occasionally,” she stresses, “very occasionally. I may not always show it, but I do like affection. Hugs can be… nice, I guess.” Diego smirks. “I knew you couldn’t be a stone cold bitch all the time.”

“I am always a stone cold bitch. Sometimes I just like cuddles.”

“Of course.” He wraps her waist in a hug. “I’ll give you all the cuddles you ask for, precious girl.”

“Thanks, Diego. If you ever call me that again, I will kill Manhattan.”

“Whatever you say, haha.” He decides to think up a better list of pet names later.
