Sort of happy with this, sort of not? I really enjoyed the composition and sketching part, but the shading feels off. Nonetheless, I wanted to have all three in one drawing!!

Question - is the ‘saltwater creature’ that Teacher calls Alecto part of the reason Harrow’s parents decide they can only discuss the Ninth House secrets bathing in saltwater?

Nona asking Cam what Pal thinks is sexy, and her saying “strong work ethic and high test scores” only for him to later rush into the room and answer “those little outfits nurses wear” is a perfect alignment of the two as characters

Dream scenario for Alecto the Ninth - Alecto just comes and rips John apart and puts him into a tomb instead.

This is inspired by a seggsy statue of Medusa in the same pose, and considering that Alecto has apparently a little to do with Arthurian legend, and like gives me medieval or medieval art poster vibes (probably due to the writing style in the epilogue) I thought to give her some clothes that resembled that (but I ended up with a more Renaissance inspired dress, thought that fit better); and also I tried to get the text to look a little medieval.

Tamsyn Muir gave us the gift that keeps on giving - River Bubble AUs, meaning that technically every single fanfic of TLT is canon, it’s just in a River Bubble.

I keep wanting to mashup roots of chaos and the locked tomb, mainly due to lesbians and my brainrot. But my main points are just necromancer Dumai and cavalier Nikeya, necromancer Ead and cavalier Sabran (although people tend to think it’s the other way around at first glance), Kalyba being locked up à la Alecto but also giving people hallucinations bc she can. And you know - Harrow is the Queen of Inys and Gideon a sister of the Priory who was sent to protect her but absolutely hates it

finished the last couple of chapters of Nona yesterday and when I tell you I was sobbing!!

the amount of times that Nona says she’s hot and beautiful while in Harrows body, but then detesting the body John gave her, the one that looks like a Barbie. I read a post about it maybe being understood as the Earth liking her indigenous body (Harrow) versus being horrified at being put in a westernised ideal of beauty? and I think that’s a great interpretation.

also,, the writing style of Alecto’s chapter?? please, let the fourth book be mainly written like that I’m on my knees begging. it was a trip but sooooo fun to read (including Gideon’s (get in line, thou big slut) and Ianthe and Harrow’s exchange (I think it’s them) of ‘my sweet I only die of longing for thee’ ‘then perish’.

it is so funny to me that palamedes and camilla are set up as The Reasonable People in gtn and continue to be viewed though that lens by many other characters throughout the books but every single book just strengthens the hypothesis that they are actually kind of insane. like. they are absolutely unhinged. palamedes made himself a river bubble despite all existing evidence saying it was impossible to do and camilla scraped 96 tiny skull fragments off the floor and glued them together and they shared a physical form for six months and at the end of things they chose mutual destruction rather than confront the possibility of one person continuing to exist without the other. all of these things are backed up with theorems and mathematics but it does not change the fact that they’re not quite the actions of Normal People
