A sand pendulum that creates a beautiful pattern only by its movement.

But why does the ellipse change shape?

The pattern gets smaller because energy is not conserved (and in fact decreases) in the system. The mass in the pendulum gets smaller and the center of mass lowers as a function of time. Easy as that, an amazing pattern arises through the laws of physics.

our next (and final?) space project is a brochure!! we have to do it on planets, which means no more pluto memes. mine is “a special sojourn on saturn” look at all that awesome alliteration. nothing beats alliteration. not even rhyming. okay maybe rhyming is pretty great but alliteration, the alliteration is totally on point here.

the fact that NASA is so underfunded just fuckign it fucki ng it just f ucking blows my mind fuck. it’s NASA. it’s fucking NASA. we’re talking about space and science and our understanding of the universe. we’re talking the study and search for planets and life outside Earth and trying to ensure the survival of our species by sending humans to Mars and generally just trying to find the meaning of life and you don’t think that’s the tightest shit you’ve ever even considered then you’re wrong

but then i remember... i DONT want to progress to next year,,, because then i'll be one year closer to having to Decide My Future (By Going Off To College)

some times i remember i have to survive another semester of ((biology)) just to get to SPACE !! which is next year,,, it makes me sad
