One of my friends had their account send out a mass of “BAIDU” links to everyone. I accidentally clicked it, but I have a mac, just installed updates, and I had adblocker, so I think I avoided any of the malware. I googled it, and it’s a mass hack happening across skype, so please be careful.
DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS FROM YOUR FRIENDS THAT ARE FOR THE SITE BAIDU
I’ve had two different Skype friends send me the link. Please be vigilant!
Very serious mass hacking!!
Why is every Fanfiction nowadays the same thing:
- There’s usually never a male main character.
- They almost always have to have some horrible tragic backstory.
- They almost always have a love interest.
- They usually stick with two personalities; Badass or Innocent and Nice.
- They’re almost always children.
What I’d love in a Fanfiction is pretty simple, but impossible to find:
- A main character who was a completely normal person.
- Someone without godlike abilities, but with enough common sense to know that they can’t take on someone 5x their strength and get kidnapped, sent to the hospital, etc.
- An independent girl/boy, who doesn’t need a love interest to be happy.
- An adult with an actual job.
- There are at least one or two chapters before the character meets the heroes.
I know, that’s a bit much to ask for, but I’ve come across so many Fanfics that are basically copies of each other. I’ve finally come across a Hunter X Hunter fanfic that I’m in love with. A main character named Jerry (Who later goes by the alias Lockhardt) who yes, does have an overdramatic backstory. But that doesn’t change the fact that the whole story itself is something I’d never dream imaginable!
The main character is an 12 year old boy, who escapes from a mental institute on his birthday after it was destroyed. He immediately heads to go murder his parents, due to them sending him there for five years, due to him having Schizophrenia.
It’s completely different. Yes, it contradicts a few things stated earlier, but that’s okay. What I’m trying to get at is, my main point is;
BE ORIGINAL FOR GODS SAKE!!!
[Update]
Your OC can be as over powered as you want, as long as it’s original, and never seen before.
If you read other fanfics, you’ll have a basic idea of what not to do, and try to stray away from what anyone else would do. Write something you think no one else would do. The crazier the better.
I’m currently writing a Hunter X Hunter fanfic that does contradict a few previous statements, but eh, I’ve never seen anything like it;
- She’s 25.
- She’s a Jester for a Prince, and is taking the three step trial to becoming an executioner.
- She’s Hisoka’s sister, but attempted to burn their bridges unsuccessfully.
- Theres a murderer loose in the castle and the King calls in a group of hunters to help, due to them being more skilled than half of his army.
- After going out for an awkward Lunch with Killua and Gon, she’s confronted by Illumi, who threatens her thinking Killua was trying to make another friend, which wasn’t the case because they were only talking about the job.
That’s all I have so far, but it’s so different, and something you wouldn’t normally see. She’s not even a Hunter!
Always keep that in mind! Your character doesn’t ever have to be a pirate, ninja, or Hunter, they can always have a different occupation.
Person- you got a second, *name*? Character- There is only one of me.
Person- what’s the word, *nickname*? Character- a shortened version of my name.
Person- Son of a bitch… Character- Actually, this man is entirely human, and his mother was in no way a canine- oh okay, I didn’t get it.
Person- sticks and stones may break my bones- Character- actually sticks when sharper can stab people, not just break their bones, and boulders actually have the capability to crush a person’s whole body, including their internal organs. *screams in the distance*
Person- go talk to him. Character- *stares at crush, who is doing something amazing* Character- maybe I should leave and not take your advice at all.
Person- there has to be a way to stop him, like a cage or- Character- put him on a leash, since he’s dog-like. Person- Person- kinky
Character- *picks up a note book* Character- why did the chicken cross the road? Character-…Probaly to get hit by a car and become roadkill. Person- Jesus Christ
(Meeting crush for the first time). Crush- Heya~ Character- Hello. Crush- not much of a talker then. Character- quieter people can take the time to hear the screams of their enemies (Everyone facepalms while crush stares in shock). Character- thankfully there’s only a twelve percent chance of that happening. Martin-um…ok.
(Meeting tall person). tall person- hi. character- hello. tall person- you’re really short. character- well that’s because you’re very tall for your age. Of course, this would mean you have a mutated gene that causes gigantism which slowly leads to bone and back problems. I would assume that you will die by the age of 34. (Tall is speechless and wants to press the leave option).
jean is not a good character. he's egotistical, rude, and self-absorbed. i don't understand why you think he's a good character when he acts like he thinks he's the best. he even calls himself the king and makes a song about himself to skate to. how is that not a douche bag?
Leroy in French literally means “The King.”
You’re complaining about someone whose earned his right to think he’s amazing (not that anyone needs a reason to).
He sings
He models
And he professionally figure skates, placing first place on more than one occasion
Self-love isn’t a privilege.
You bitch about JJ as if he’s some terrible person. You’re just salty that there’s a character who’s good at what he does, and knows that he is. Victor was just the same before he became a coach, and sometimes still acts that way. In episode 7, Victor offered to kiss Yuri to stop him from crying because he thinks indulging Yuri would help. Yuri also made a song to skate to, “Yuri On Ice.” So by your definition of a douche bag, Victor and Yuri must be too, right? No, obviously not because your point is completely invalid. Because unless he intentionally wants to harm other people, he’s not a bad character.
Next time you want to complain about someone who has achieved greatness with hard work and is proud to celebrate that, you might want to double check why you feel that way. You’re probably projecting.
If you’ll honestly dislike a character because they love themselves, then you won’t grasp the point of Yuri on Ice.
brah fuck it im just die
