I hate when someone with the same zodiac as me doesnt click or get along with me. Itās like what a traitor⦠whatās your moon and rising sign bitch
Hey Henry, what are your thoughts on north nodes? It seems like such an important part of ones chart, but I never see anyone post about it on tumblr š¤ Did I get this right-ish?; south node = past life, comfort-zone (mine is in pisces and 1st, so ego, escapism and self sacrificing behaviour) and north node = current life, destiny (?), new and uncomfortable situations that one has to experience (virgo in 7th, being organized and focusing on relationships, having a stable relationship). Thanks!
I think that the nodes are blown a little out of proportion in modern astrology. If we take things back to basics, however, I think that they can bear a lot of rich fruit. Consider the fact that the nodes are the places where the path of the Moon intersects the Solar ecliptic. At a very basic level we have the uniting of the Solar and Lunar selves here (similar to the Sun/Moon midpoint). Your active and passive natures are at one here. Your needs and wants align, and thatās why it can feel so powerful to prioritize the nodes when it comes to examiningĀ ālife purposeā.Ā
That being said, however, I personally take the Vedic (Jyotish) route when it comes to the nodes. I think that the North Node implies material increase, but a special kind of obsessiveness and spiritual drain, whereas the South Node implies material decrease, a special kind of apathy, and spiritual gain. Itās unhealthy to spend too much time at either end of the axis (this is true for every axis in astrology so itās a bizarre thing to me that modern astrologers always tout the North Node as some sort of ultimate chart feature), and the ultimate manifestation would be one that is balanced. On one end you see the archetypal billionaire, who constantly craves more and more and yet is never satisfied, whereas on the other end you have a starving monk, who by releasing everything and giving to others attains the ultimate fulfillment and yet may not be able to (actually) feed himself. Both energies are necessary for a practical life, but taken to extremes they can become dangerous.
From a technical standpoint I use the adage that the North Node amplifies what it touches (and thus is a good match for the benefics) and the South Node dissipates what it touches (and thus is a good match for the malefics).
Functionally I think that we can see increase where the North Node is transiting and meaning where the South Node is.

Iāve been thinking about the houses lately, and I think we tend to get a little stuck in buzzwords and as a result, we can struggle with the concepts. Here are some of my concepts of the houses I think this happens with the most.
6th house: To me, this is the house of healing. Buzzwords often thrown around for this house include: service, daily work, habits, health, pets, organization. I think the common thread here is what heals or is healthy to you, and how you seek to heal others. What you do every day has the biggest impact on your health, and so it lives in the 6th house. Acts of service heal others, and so they live in the 6th house. Transits through the 6th house may affect your health, but they may also affect the healing energy you bring to others, or simply an aspect of the systems that keep you healthy.
8th house: This is the house of transformations, the house of things that break you and remake you. This is a house we donāt like to show others, because it contains the parts of our lives that are direct lines to our souls. This house is often said to rule over money, sex, death, secrets, addiction, etc. These are the things that have the ability to crush us, or turn us into completely different people.Ā āOccultā things are often placed in this house as well, but I think a more accurate word would beĀ āfaithā orĀ āreligionā because these have the ability to penetrate to our souls. Placements and transits through the 8th house donāt necessarily mean we will be transformed, but that the thingsĀ that have the abilityĀ to transform us will be affected.Ā
10th house: This house is often associated with careers, and thatās not exactly wrong, but I think its fundamental concept is a bit broader. This is the house of your lifeās work. What are your ambitions? What will you seek recognition in? What do you want to accomplish in your life? Your inclinations are shown here. Itās true that the concept of lifeās work often aligns with someoneās career, but astrology predates capitalism and you donāt have to make a living off it for it to be your lifeās work.
Moon in a cardinal sign (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) feels best when they turn emotions into determination, when they become leaders. They feel at an emotional best when leading or achieving their goals or when they have something to dedicate themselves to
Moon in a fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) feels best when they are being listened to or doing their own thing. They donāt like being told what to do or how to feel. They feel their best when they are going their own way
Moon in a mutable sign (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) feels best when going with the flow and being able to have room to fix or accommodate plans or themselves. They feel at an emotional best when they have room to grow and change
