“Astrology describes the basic, fundamental energetic patterns that inform our approach to life. But astrology says absolutely nothing about our degree of awareness, how conscious we are, or in other words, our level of psycho spiritual development. Astrology tells us what we have packed in our bags for our evolutionary journey, but not how much progress we have made along the way. That’s why people born at the same time – like twins – can often be so very different. It also helps to explain why some people seem to be tossed around by fate, while others have a greater degree of control. So the key to living out the best expression of our energies is to bring as much awareness and compassion to them as possible.”

Hey Henry, what are your thoughts on north nodes? It seems like such an important part of ones chart, but I never see anyone post about it on tumblr 🤔 Did I get this right-ish?; south node = past life, comfort-zone (mine is in pisces and 1st, so ego, escapism and self sacrificing behaviour) and north node = current life, destiny (?), new and uncomfortable situations that one has to experience (virgo in 7th, being organized and focusing on relationships, having a stable relationship). Thanks!
I think that the nodes are blown a little out of proportion in modern astrology. If we take things back to basics, however, I think that they can bear a lot of rich fruit. Consider the fact that the nodes are the places where the path of the Moon intersects the Solar ecliptic. At a very basic level we have the uniting of the Solar and Lunar selves here (similar to the Sun/Moon midpoint). Your active and passive natures are at one here. Your needs and wants align, and that’s why it can feel so powerful to prioritize the nodes when it comes to examining “life purpose”.
That being said, however, I personally take the Vedic (Jyotish) route when it comes to the nodes. I think that the North Node implies material increase, but a special kind of obsessiveness and spiritual drain, whereas the South Node implies material decrease, a special kind of apathy, and spiritual gain. It’s unhealthy to spend too much time at either end of the axis (this is true for every axis in astrology so it’s a bizarre thing to me that modern astrologers always tout the North Node as some sort of ultimate chart feature), and the ultimate manifestation would be one that is balanced. On one end you see the archetypal billionaire, who constantly craves more and more and yet is never satisfied, whereas on the other end you have a starving monk, who by releasing everything and giving to others attains the ultimate fulfillment and yet may not be able to (actually) feed himself. Both energies are necessary for a practical life, but taken to extremes they can become dangerous.
From a technical standpoint I use the adage that the North Node amplifies what it touches (and thus is a good match for the benefics) and the South Node dissipates what it touches (and thus is a good match for the malefics).
Functionally I think that we can see increase where the North Node is transiting and meaning where the South Node is.

Stygiomedusa Gigantea
For the first time ever, stygiomedusa gigantea, a gigantic jellyfish was caught on video by scientists in the Gulf of Mexico. There have only been 115 sightings of this deep sea jellyfish in the past 110 years.
“If something changes, we should let it go-something else will come. We should watch the changes like passing clouds. But, normally, we dont want to merely watch them. We want to hold onto a section without letting go. When we just allow things to pass, we are free. Things will just come and go while we retain our peace”

Each luminary and each planet in astrology affects different parts of our personality. By this point, we understand the 12 archetypes, but now we must be aware of what these celestial bodies mean in the first place when a sign is placed there.
The Sun Ruler of Leo, the Sun represents the Self. It is representative of our strength, will, vitality, ego and our basic personality. The Sun, in our charts, represents who we are at our very best.
The Moon Ruler of Cancer, the Moon represents the Personal/True Self. It is representative of our emotions, our soul, instinct and intuition and who we truly are internally. The Moon, in our charts, represents the deepest part of us.
Mercury Ruler of both Gemini and Virgo, Mercury represents the Mind. It is representative of our intellect and how we communicate and mentally process things on a day-to-day basis. Mercury, in our charts, represents how we communicate and interact everyday.
Venus Ruler of both Taurus and Libra, Venus represents Attraction. It is representative of love, money, friendships, relationships and what we find beautiful. Venus, in our charts, represents who and what we are attracted to and how we go about obtaining it.
Mars Ruler of Aries, Mars represents Willpower. It is representative of stamina, anger, sex and what stimulates our physical energy. Mars, in our charts, shows what/how we put our energy to use.
Jupiter Ruler of Sagittarius, Jupiter represents Expansion. It is representative of optimism, growth, luck and wisdom. Jupiter, in our charts, represents what we should follow in order to attract happiness and good karma in our lives.

Uranus Ruler of Aquarius, Uranus represents Freedom. It is representative of change, originality and progressiveness. Uranus, in our charts, shows where we go against order or tradition.
Neptune Ruler of Pisces, Neptune represents Illusion. It is representative of spirituality, deception and intuition. Neptune, in our charts, shows where we fall into delusion eventually resulting in heightened awareness.
Pluto Ruler of Scorpio, Pluto represents Transformation. It is representative of spiritual growth, rebirth and renewal and change. Pluto, in our charts, represents where we will find for a deeper truth or meaning and what we will destroy and eventually create and give life to.
