Alright guys, things are not looking great for Emerald City’s renewal. And before I knew that they would likely be setting up a cliffhanger ending, I wouldn’t have minded just one season of this wonderfulness, I’ll take anything I can get! But, if there is more to tell in this amazingly beautiful world then I think it’s worth a shot to try to save this show! Who’s with me?! my god, I am terrible with these sorts of things, forgive me

No, things aren’t looking great. TV Grimm Reaper expects it to be canceled:

Emerald City is likely to be canceled. Its ratings weren’t terrible for a Friday premiere, but they haven’t stopped declining. Last week’s 0.6 puts it into the likely canceled range, even for a Friday show. As you read the nonsense from the #PRJedi in the TV media about Emerald City being an “event series” remember what that means: If it had good ratings, it would be renewed. Since the ratings are bad, one season was always the plan! (x) (Can that mean that there isn’t actually a cliffhanger? lol)

But! Tv By the Numbers says it’s still a toss up (same goes for Timeless, guys check that shit out too, it’s so awesome!).

HERE ARE SOME THINGS WE CAN DO:

Watch it live! (WHY CAN’T I HAVE A NIESLEN BOX, WHY? I WATCH GOOD SHOWS, DAMN IT) If you can’t watch live, watch it legally through streaming sites like Hulu or nbc.com if you can. (I understand if you are outside the US it doesn’t count (WHY))

Record it and watch it with commercials! I know commercials suck, but to count in the +3 ratings, watch it with commercials. Put it on as background noise or something :)

Tweet!! LIVE TWEET! During the show and before and after it airs (I think it’s 20 minutes before and after that it counts, I think?)! Use #EmeraldCity as a priority tag and then, hey, maybe we can get that and/or #SaveEmeraldCity to trend! And fans outside the US, this is where you can really help! It airs twice, once at 9 PM EST and 9 PM PST on Fridays (use google to find out what time that is for you and Tweet away! :D)

Follow Emerald City on all social media platforms and engage! Even if it’s a like! Sharing is great and promotes it.

Spread the word! Maybe you can get some other people into it too! (Especially if they have a Nielsen box… bribe them them….)

save emerald city

i know i don’t usually do posts like this, but i feel really strongly about trying to get Netflix to pick up the NBC show: Emerald City. It’s honestly one of my favorite shows now, and completely underrated. it follows a poc lead, and takes a dark turn down the yellow brick road you thought you knew. It’s not afraid to open with a strong romance unlike so many other shows that string you along with the “desired” slow burn or a love triangle. the characters are complicated and interesting and leave you wanting to know more about each and every one of them. dorothy and lucas/the scarecrow bring a light to the show and their chemistry (imo) is off the charts. i’ve heard emerald city referred to as a mix of game of thrones and once upon a time, and i have to agree; though it comes without the constant storyline shifting that once upon a time did, and leaves you wanting more after every episode. it includes a bisexual lead, a trans lead, and a woman of color lead. honestly this show has so much to offer, and i’m really upset to see it go without a fight. whether or not you plan to watch please sign the petitions in the links below to help give this show a fighting chance at another season, for those of us who are not done with this dark retelling of a classic tale. https://www.change.org/p/netflix-save-emerald-city https://www.change.org/p/nbc-renew-emerald-city-for-season-2

I’ve decided to do exactly that and spread a little kindness and positivity every day. And I don’t mean only positivity about season 7 of OUAT, but positivity about the fandom, because yeah, that still exists.

So here’s a shoutout to a true gem in this fandom, @cat-sophia!

She who doesn’t watch season 7 and is extremely disappointed about it.

She who expresses her criticism about it and reblogs a lot of very, very critical and even negative posts about season 7 - but tags every single post correctly so that I don’t have to see it and never steps out of her lane to spoil the fun for anyone who still enjoys the show. Never judges anyone who still enjoys the show. Never tells anyone they’re less of a CSer because they still watch and enjoy the show.

She who keeps being positive about the people in this fandom and celebrates the good things about it, the writers, the artists.
